Yeah I really don't like having to leave the PS3 on to charge the controller - i usually just plug it into the PC instead and it does the job. It should have an auto-off like the 360 does when it's charging the battery.
knitoe said:Rechargeable batteries come in packs of 4 / 8. Unless I live in another reality, X360 only uses 2. Thus, you should have 2 / 6 laying around at all times. And, don't you keep your batteries in one place after charging? Non rechargeable batteries need to die. Rechargeable are fine.

Psychotext said:I don't have anything in the vicinity with an always on USB port, so I'd have to take the controller off to another room to charge. Just seems strange that they don't offer the same "auto off" controller charge functionality that the 360 has.

My dumb as dirt friend did it.

But in general, built-in batteries = fail. One of the things I have against Apple products for. It's a total consumer-unfriendly feature.

I don't have that problem.fortified_concept said:But let's assume that you only have two batteries like you're assuming that we only have one PS3 controller and that's we're stupid enough to wait until its battery is empty to recharge it.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU ONLY HAVE TWO BATTERIES AND YOU CAN'T RECHARGE THEM WHILE PLAYING LIKE YOU DO WITH THE PS3, KNITOE? OMG WHAT A DESIGN FLAW!
fortified_concept said:I don't know about Apple products but you can replace a PS3 battery. It costs less than 5 dollars on ebay.
But in general built-in batteries are easily replaceable by anyone competent enough to make their own coffee in the morning.rpmurphy said:But in general, built-in batteries = fail. One of the things I have against Apple products for. It's a total consumer-unfriendly feature.
