I'm not exactly sure why you quoted me, but regarding the second block of text, I think one of the big problems on Tumblr is that the frequent users think it's hip and okay to use the tags for "posting their feels", and that makes things harder to look for in general because nobody tags their posts correctly. I'm baffled myself why they need more categorization to keep people from stumbling upon 'bad things' when it's so hard to find things in general in the first place.

I recently did a traffic analysis on Tumblr - honestly, 80% of their traffic is straight up porn - they won't cut their nose off to spite their face.

I use Tumblr all the time. Searching tags is just as big a part of finding content that interest's you and new blogs to follow as is finding them through reblogs on your dashboard. This new policy of censorship definitely is to the detriment of Tumblr users. It will be harder for blogs to be discovered and gain new followers if the tags they use in their posts aren't searchable.
