I wonder if I'll have managed to platinum Y3 by then.

I think it did fine.MidnightScott said:That is very surprising seeing as how Yakuza 3 probably bombed. But I'm just talking out of my ass here as I haven't seen the charts. I still don't own it...maybe someday, it's already had a price drop I believe.

Larsen B - PS3 is region free don't forget.
Nah, Sega will probably release VF5:FS day and date with Marvel 3.LiK said:If they release Y4 during the same week as MvC3, im gonna cry

It sold on par with Yakuza 1 on a localization budget as small as conceivably possible. I think they're taking it as a win.MidnightScott said:That is very surprising seeing as how Yakuza 3 probably bombed. But I'm just talking out of my ass here as I haven't seen the charts. Events in Akiyama's story are directly tied to hostess clubs and playing the minigame. It's gonna be hard to cut it this time.Segata Sanshiro said:It sold on par with Yakuza 1 on a localization budget as small as conceivably possible. I think they're taking it as a win.
I expect them to still cut stuff out of this one, though. I doubt we'll ever see the hostesses again.
Hopefully all the backlash in their official forums slapped them hard.dallow_bg said:I feel there won't be cuts this time actually.
Well, no one will notice if a certain Mr. Akiyama disappears.hamchan said:Events in Akiyama's story are directly tied to hostess clubs and playing the minigame. It's gonna be hard to cut it this time.

No.ULTROS! said:If I haven't played Yakuza 1-3, will I understand this?
Sure. The Yakuza games are like episodes of a TV show. Playing other installments will certainly enrich your experience, but it's not necessary. The games even helpfully include recaps of previous "episodes", available to watch at your leisure.ULTROS! said:If I haven't played Yakuza 1-3, will I understand this?
And if they do, no one will notice if they disappear too, right?Segata Sanshiro said:Well, no one will notice if a certain Mr. Akiyama disappears.
androvsky said:The release timeframe being Spring 2011 and the fact they're announcing it this early leads me to believe there will be far fewer cuts. As late as August of last year, Sega was still trying to figure out how to dump Y3 with a minimum of effort.

Quick Edit! Hi guys, lots of comments so far judging from them a fair few regarding the Y3 situation, which is fair enough. Whilst I dont know all the ins and outs of the game at this stage I can at least confirm to you that the much loved Hostesses will return in Yakuza 4 in all their alluring glory. As for Nagoshi-san Im sure you can come up with some really in-depth questions for him so come on whats the one thing youve alllllways wanted to know about the world of Yakuza?![]()
