Yakuza 6 demo gameplay video

Love how they're doing heat moves now. More and more it's getting integrated into the actual gameplay.

I also love how he just walks to the roof through the building.


This game will probably have a lot less content than Y4 and 5 though =P
 
i can't believe that i never played a Yakuza Game. Its like one of those game i always wanted (Sandbox Game with Japan/Tokyo Setting)

Since i have no Ps3 anymore, i have to wait a little bit more for Yakuza 0 to make my debut in this franchise

Yakuza 6: This looks really good
 
OMG.

  • Sexy new dragon-themed HUD
  • The button mashing attack boosters now show how much extra damage you're doing LIVE as you're mashing, instead of pre-charging and then watching a mini-cutscene
  • Knocked down body ragdolls
  • Battles FINISH as well as start without black screen load transition now
  • More environmental cloth, steam and smoke
  • AI fighters charge toward each other at start of battle
  • Each fighter's health is now displayed above head by default? (unlockable in past)
  • Threat arrow indicators for off-screen enemies

I think they're trying to avoid another Summer 2015 promise and have it drag out to the end of the year, due to issues. However, I see a few factors favorable in Zero's odds:

1. Zero is reportedly a smaller game in comparison
2. There is no massive relocation for SoA that caused a number of delays.

IF things go smoothly, I'd imagine the release date will be sooner.
 
Looking forward to this, spent a good part of the weekend playing Yakuza 5, I'm getting close to being the top Pop Princess.

I always love how Japanese devs use percentages to say how far along a game is.
 
man, looks like they still didn't fix the minimap issue. the issue i had was your curser isn't what dictates how the map flows; the layout of the map dictates your cursor. if that makes sense.

I feel like it should be an easy problem to fix. it makes the camera really wonky in practice
 
Looks damn good. Hope the first game with a new engine doesn't mean it will feel light on content like often happens when we shift to new gen.

Actually saw Akiyama and Tanimura cosplayers at a con a few years ago. Should've taken a pic but my mind was too blown to comprehend it. They were spot-on.

The Tojo Clan's run by imbeciles. I honestly believe Kiryu would do a lot more good if he returned as Chairman as the weakness of the clan merely sparks more conflict that gets people hurt or worse, killed.

I think there's room for some Batman-esque payoff where Kiryu has to sacrifice his personal freedom because this a lifelong struggle. After all, just how many times must he be reminded how ineffective Daigo has been?
 
Looks absolutely brilliant but there's one slight issue that aggravates me.. We have to wait a couple of years for a proper Western release :(

I know I can import but I don't want to spend half the time using a translator on my phone, I did that with Ishin.
 
Haven't played a yakuza since the first one. Really excited to play this, sad that it looks like it'll be at least a year until that's possible.
 
I'm playing Zero right now, and although the story is amazing, the difference between 0 and 6 is spectacular.

In 0 there are lots and lots of invisible walls, you can never go into buildings like that without a transition (and rarely can you go into buildings at all), and there are lots of transitions between combat and entering places, etc. This is crazy, a real achievement for the team.
 
People who are considering getting into the series should seriously consider getting Yakuza Zero, which is already confirmed to get localization.

Yakuza 6, if they end up localizing it, will take long time.
 
I'm curious. Which game from Yakuza 1-5 have the best story?

I'm watching the recap videos in Yakuza 4 while I play through the main game. And then plan on either progressing to Yakuza 3 or Yakuza 5 after.

From what I have heard, Y1,2,4's story are considered good. Can't really say which one is the best out of those 3. Y3's story is often considered the worst. I am currently mid-way of Y5 so I don't know about it.

does kiryu get back together with mayumi by the end of
yakuza 5? if not,
is she at least confirmed to return for 6?

I can't be the only one who enjoys the other characters parts more than Kiryu's. I don't know, maybe it's because I've played as Kiryu in 5 games now. He's still my favorite character, but I just like discovering a new character's past and fight styles.

I wonder if it's gonna run at 60 fps. Yakuza 0 runs at 60 but since 6 looks to have superior graphics, I wonder if it will go back to run at 30.

I like having variety, but having multiple protagonist made each segment feel a bit too short for me. In Yakuza4, when I was about to get hang of it with learning many skills, enjoying side quests and story, the character story ends and I start over with new character. Also it didn't help I wasn't really enjoying other charcters (except Akiyama) as much as Kiryu.

I am currently playing Y5 and while I feel I am enjoying the variety more than Y4, I am already starting to miss Kiryu's part.


I personally would like 2 characters like Zero, or 3 at most. After 4 it feels just too much for me.

the superior graphics are also due to the fact that it's not cross gen anymore. although it's not confirmed i think it's a safe bet to say it'll be 60.

Daigo's going to fuck up so badly that Yakuza 6's plot is going to be about how Daigo accidentally sold nuclear secrets to the Triad.
I don't see how Kiryu doesn't have an aneurysm because of how stupid everyone and everything is.

Mayumi is never mentioned again after the "big reveal" with her role in Kiryu's life, and not much is known about Yakuza 6.
