You left your mic on!

Came across these videos today, you may have seen them before. If not, they're quite fun (especially the second if you have a sense for justice vs douchbaggery).

Jerk tastes justice lag

Looking for similar videos, jerks going nuts on the mic and getting their comeuppance, weird things being said not realising the mic is on, etc...

Share the good stuff.

When i was a kid, i used to chat with mic with strangers on a chat room, mostly other people my age, on my pc.

You had to push a button to talk, so it was hard for this to happen, my brother was mad one day and attempted to talk shit into the mic, unaware nobody could hear him.

Embarassment was avoided, but ever since i learned to be careful with mics, so i usually do not use mic functions unless with close friends.

Im glad i can watch this knowing it will never happen to me, but also makes me feel cringe, of what could have happened to me if i wasn't careful.

The Xbox One seems to be bad for this. That damn kinect was picking up everything by default at times. I went in and changed the setting to mute everything.

When the Vita was relatively new, I didnt realize the built-in mic was on while playing LBP with a friend online. I was laying in bed with my gf and we were having a goofy conversation of a sexual nature, nothing too explicit but it was hilarious when i got a PSN message from him saying he could hear us talking

I still remember that streamer on Twitch who claimed he was disabled, until he forgot to turn his camera off and stood up in front of all his viewers.

I personally haven't had this happen though.

I had a similar thing happen while I was playing Call of Duty 4 with a group of friends. We had posted up in our positions and were waiting for the enemy team when my phone rang. Usually, I'd mute my microphone, but this time I forgot and my friends got an earful. Nothing too explicit, just a bit silly.

When I play competitively, now, I always double check that my mic is off when I'm not conversing with a squad mate, lest they get a nice whiff of me cursing at the incompetence of the other players in my team.

Ah I heard about there. There's also quite a few of people leaving their cams/mics on before getting jiggy-wid-it.

I was playing Destiny with my friends but at the time I had just got back from Japan so had some serious jet lag so I ended up falling asleep while playing. My friends just decided to let me stand motionless at the tower while I snore my head off for hours. Pricks.

Had two occasions where someone would leave their mic on in Teamspeak while jacking off.

The things I've heard playing PvZ Garden Warfare... Parents don't bother turning off the kinect for voice chat.

That sounds fucking hilarious. I'd probably yell at the dude to turn his shit off.

For me, my mom came in raging about the noise one time and my mic picked up our conversation. Lots of cussing and threats of the belt, the cons of having a black mom, I guess. Friends gave me shit for weeks.

When I used to raid in WoW, we had a couple in our raid group that left their mics on while they started like using sex dice or something to figure out what they'd be doing later.

They seemed super embarrassed when they tuned back in and we were all laughing and they pretended it was about who was going to go get groceries.

An audience of ~25 people is great.

No video. But back during Rainbow Six on the OG Xbox + Xbox Live, I was in a match with this little kid that kept talking shit. And he was using every swear word in the book.

Then out of nowhere I heard his mom start screaming because she heard him cussing and he started crying. It was so cringe. Then the kid said older adults were telling him sexual/mean things (he lied)...so the mom actually hopped on the mic and started screaming at everyone. Saying she was going to call the cops blah blah. She was going to hurt people.

And of course, this just caused others in the room to start cussing at her, and saying sexual things + saying stuff to rile her up more.

God it was cringe/awkward. Nice early Xbox Live experience.

Some days ago some guy in the lobby beat his mom because she was talking about him getting a job and threatening him with turning off the console.

I once joined a guild on World of Warcraft shortly after guild drama tore my last one apart. I only joined this new one because a few of my friends from the defunct guild were there. Anyway after a few months it was pretty clear that we weren't going to be accepted by the old guard at this new guild, despite more than pulling our weight in raids. Between five of us we had the best two tanks, the best healer and the top two DPS by quite some margin, and while we'd bitch and moan about it to each other we were nothing but polite and helpful to the rest of the guild's efforts at progression.

Anyway, one night we were due to raid and my brother shows up at my house with a big bag of weed (back when I still partook) so I decided to blow off raiding that night. I joined the guild's officer chat room on vent and made up some bullshit about latency and local repairs on our phone/internet lines, they said it was a shame but ok, cool. I took my headset off, turned to my brother and said "And that's how you bullshit your guild". He said it'd be fine if I wanted to raid anyway, so I told him exactly what was happening with the guild...

I held nothing back, told him this officer was a cunt, the Guild Master kept taking gear earmarked for me to give to her mother (despite being an awful, awful player), who secretly hated who and why, who'd been 'cybering' with who what my friends thought of them... yeah my push-to-talk key was stuck down. I realised, put my headset on and pressed the push-to-talk key down again to unstick it. As soon as it stopped broadcasting the GM says "I don't know if you're back on mic but we're sorry you feel that way. Obviously we're going to remove you from guild".

I felt terrible. They removed me and my friends immediately, and the ensuing shitstorm resulted in a disbanded guild within a week. My friends still take the piss to this day, and two of them still (jokingly) claim I owe them the cost of several character transfers because they couldn't get into decent raiding guilds after being booted from that one.

Reminds me of launch day of PS4. I was in a COD Ghosts match and a kid must not have realized the PS Camera picked up all the sound in the room if you didn't have a headset on, he was talking to someone on the phone and read off full credit card info for all to hear.

Not in a game, but at my last job I was in a telephone meeting, it was the start of my last week since I'd handed in my notice to take a new job elsewhere (we would all have been redundant a few months down the line due to outsourcing anyway). I had my head on my desk as the other two people rambled on about network storage, headset on and thought it was muted....so I just uttered to myself "I'm so fucking bored...". Next thing I heard on the headset was "Oh dear". Check my headset, not muted.

Quickly cough a few times then pretend like I'm telling people around me to quiet down as I'm on the phone and they can be heard, which makes my colleagues look at me strangely, then I apologise to the meeting for the background noise.
Either they bought it, or just didn't care since they'd be out of a job within months anyway.

So me and 2 buddies were on PSN group chat and one of my friends had to go . The next thing we here is a woman moaning in the background. My friend had stayed in the chat andhiss his girlfriend over. The other guy was like "What are you watching!?". When I explained that it wasn't me he just started freaking out and left the chat as did I.

This is why I hate console headset and never use them unless I am force to.

Push to Talk is the only way to use a headset.
Auto-detection is retarded.

People who use the Kinect mic are the worst. It sounds awful, it picks everything up and gets feedback sometimes.

I hate people who just leave the mic open too. I don't want to hear you talk to someone else in the room, I don't want to hear you clear your throat and cough after taking a hit, I don't want to hear you practicing your belching, and I really, really, REALLY don't want to fucking hear you chew your food and grab chips out of the bag.

Countless times I have reached to the back of my xbox one to unplug the kinect because I don't want a mic on in my games, sometimes I forget for a little bit and my brother comes in shouting and stuff, like young brothers do.

I once sang The Human League's Don't You Want Me as a silly recording for my then-girlfriend without realising that I was still in a Teamspeak server with another person.

After I'd finished, there was a moment of stunned silence followed by "Well...okay then" from the other guy who then proceeded to tell everyone else in our City of Heroes group about the incident.

Yeah the open mic got me in that game too. Except I was on the toilet.
Still feel bad for the guy I was matched with, having to listen to that before I realized my mic was on.

When I first got my PlayStation Camera I didn't realize that it was always broadcasting during Killzone. I was having a particularly bad run during a match and I had one of the worst, whiny hissy-fits until I realized people could hear me :-/

Wow that's uh...

I can't handle those situations. I'd be so red in the face.

When the PS4 first came out, I joined a random Waeframe room, just testing the game out. Was having fun with randoms. We get to a boss, I almost immediately die, and realize it'll be a whiile before im back in without paying for it.

So, I do what any logical person does, and start to practice my trombone. Except I forgot to mute the PS Eye camera from an earlier session of playing with the voice commands. I had this PS4 maybe a week, and hadn't delved into that part yet. Anyhoo....ten, fifteen minutes goes by, and I'm getting down. Just playing all over the place. Then I hear it.

"WHOEVER IS PLAYING THE TRUMPET PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP!!"

I laughed pretty hard, apologized, muted my camera, and went back to it. Dude was pretty cool about it afterwards too. I respawned a few minutes later, helped kill the boss, then quit to play more music. I didn't have the heart to tell the kid that it was a trombone....but I sort of took it as a slight compliment since I was playing very high and very fast...

Moral - don't play with your 'bone while gaming unless you are muted xD
