Your desired setting for the next Souls game?

Something that hasn't been done before. Don't just choose some random time and place from history and use that as the setting. This ain't AssCreed. I want dark fantasy, with the emphasis on fantasy.

Something in this direction.

By the way i suck at DS games. Didn`t finish either DS1 or DS2.

I couldn't ever come up with a setting as fantastic as Miyazaki's, especially following what I saw throughout Bloodborne.

I fully trust him to deliver something incredible whatever he does next.

A game in space where you are exploring huge space stations. Or maybe you explore different planets. They can do whatever and it would be amazing.

Bring back the hub world and make it a portal to different times & dimensions.

The possibilities are infinite.

But Demon's/Dark Souls and Bloodborne have two very distinct settings. Medieval fantasy =/= Victorian Gothic...which one do you mean?

Bloodborne series with Victorian Gothic.

Dark Souls series with Dark Medieval Fantasy.

Keep space, cyberpunk or any other settings for a new IP.

I say this in every single thread like this: A setting akin to the Megastructure in Blame!

Basically dystopian cyberpunk. Tsutomu Nihei's architectural style (and even creature design) would fit like a glove for a Miyazaki game.

But if it's space than it's gotta have guns for sure. And not those iffy ones from Bloodborne. I'm talking Lasers and shit.

Seems kinda unfitting, you know? The setting could be cool but I'm not sure it would work with the combat.

World War I setting.

The trenches, the mud, the no man's land. Dreary mining towns, bombed out cities. Chemical weapons.

The people who are saying "space" do you want Dark Souls to become a shooter? Because swords and shields are definitely out of the question in such a setting.

You know what, I don't care. Miyazaki has my trust in anything he does, even if it's high school souls. Now that I think about it, that would be nice.

I think sci fi would be really cool and could work well with the Souls games.

EDIT: Ooh a wild west souls would be AMAZING.

Junji Ito-inspired feudal Japan.

I want dark fantasy to be a unifying element of the series, however.

Yes this would be awesome. Especially with the Demon's theme.

If people don't like the Souls series doing anything but midevil themes make it a next Blood Borne joint. Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, Ronin Spirits or something. Ninjas, very few or no gunpowder, Samurai with their multi weapon types.

Not exactly, if they went the route that energy is highly limited. Or another feature such as it uses up the players life as the energy source.

Though doubt they would go that direction since they prefer their dark fantasy setting and they leave the pewpew future stuff with the AC series.

All I'd like is for the dark fantasy vibe to continue. If you're going to do sci-fi jazz, you might as well make a totally unrelated brand of game.

Doing just fine without them in Bloodborne. :)

Saying that guns can be the only means of combat is extremely limiting the nature and imagination of a science fiction setting.

A spin on ancient Egyptian lore.

Taking on Egyptian deities like Osiris and Anubis. Shifting between a reality controlled by corrupted pharaohs and their legion, to dimensional planes of the underworld.

Nonsense. They can do Whatever they want with that. It's called artistic freedom.
There are bows in Souls, so...

Kings field 2 had tron land with mechs and shadow tower abyss had assault rifles. Out of the question...if you say so.

It's space aka in the future,so guns will be the main choice. I don't want the series to become another shooter.

Not even remotely the same.
