Your favorite FPS maps

Q2DM1 - The Edge

Quake 2 of course.

2Fort is the worst. -1 for OP. As a Spy player, I always loved the Payload maps in TF2. Badwater Basin, Upward, and Barnblitz are tied for my favorites. Lots of fond memories from those maps.

The king, Dust 2 (Counter-Strike series, pictured: GO)
1000

So many highlights, fails, rages and triumphs captured on this (imo) perfect map.

BloodGluch (Halo CE)

Glad to see you guys have me covered. Two absolutely classic maps that I spent hours and hours playing on.

El_Alamein4210.jpg

Battlefield 1942 - El Alamein

With it's tank middle ground, it's enormous biplane and it's sheet enormity (at the time), this would double up well with MOHAA's tight infantry maps on a multiplayer night with friends.. Oh to be a teenager again.

EDIT: People will shoot me down, no doubt, but I'd love a new WW2 shooter with high numbers, large maps and copious amounts of vehicular, strategic warfare.

ut_laneway2 in Urban Terror for Quake 3

cant find ver2 loading screen :/

The scale in this map was insane :D

Halo - Blood Gulch, Prisoner, um, Hang Em High
Halo 2 - Coagulation, um, drawing a blank here
Halo 3 - Valhalla, Last Resort, Construct

That's about the extent of my FPS game knowledge (at least in regards to multiplayer maps) other than the Battlefront games, which I played mostly just by myself.

Dawnville, carentan or pavlov from CoD1.

Stack and Archives from Goldeneye

Blood Gulch from Halo

Convoy and Torlan from UT2004

dm3-1.jpg

Quake one clan arena: dm3, the classic tdm/clan arena map of choice.

ctf1.jpg

Quake one ctf: ctf1, a pub staple on kitty1.stanford.edu, princeton.net, qstudent.harvard.edu and quake.erols.com. I actually preferred Dungo's remake, ctfremix, but it came out so late into the ctf scene that it didn't get much play.

Soldier of Fortune 2: mp_finca for both pubbing and scrims/matches. my clan and I only lost once on this map, ever

QWTF - 2fort4, shoutout to well6
Quake 3 - q3dm7, q3dm17
Goldeneye - Facility
Counter-strike - cs_militia
Battlefield 1942 - Wake Island

BF1942 was so good. I'm remembering just how good it was for its time. That 64 players, vehicles, large maps, varied environments, smooth and fluid gameplay with perfect responsive PC controls. The graphics were also good for their time too.

Easily one of the very best games ever made but rarely seen on anyone's list. It's almost as if it's overlooked.

Most of my favourites are mentioned here

2Fort, Dustbowl, De_dust2 (most iconic), The Pit (Halo), Zanzibar, Crash (COD4), Vacant and Arica Harbour (BFBC2 with all its destruction)

I'll throw in Radec Academy from Killzone 2 (KZ3 and Shadowfall version can get lost)

And, this was when Microsoft was cool. About two months after a map pack was released as DLC, it would be made available for free (DLC done right). In my opinion, Halo 2 still stands as having the best competitive multiplayer.

Edit: Tried to make Halo 2 maps into a spoiler

The Longest Yard (DM17) Quake 3 will always be my number 1 - i just love that map so much and can't get enough of it for strait up DM, very closely following it is De_Dust - i think its almost perfect in its layout and perfectly designed for 5v5.

Recent maps I've grown to really like a lot are all from Ttitanfall.

Fracture.

Boneyard.

Angel City (my fav TF map).

Facing Worlds, but that's the obvious choice (it is awesome, though).

I love a lot of Unreal Tournament maps, actually. Morbias, Deck16, Tempest.

But I love DM-Morpheus the most. My friends and I played that map a lot, usually with instagib turned on. So much low-gravity jumping and low-gravity gibs exploding everywhere.

It's not my favorite map from the game, but I really like the Favela map in Shadowrun. Lot of different vertical levels, alleyways, corridors, teleport lines galore and a wide open courtyard pictured here for some large scale skirmishes for the Artifact (Flag)

Favela_01.jpg

My real favorite from Shadowrun is Nerve Center. Excellent symmetrical map with a lot of great Rifling sight lines, good Teleport ambushes, and clean and clear visuals with easy readability.
