Your favorite multiplayer experience this generation?

I've played and owned a few multiplayer games this gen, but this has been the only with any kind of staying power:

Single-player campaign is the one that gets all the praise, but multiplayer is some kind of genius. It's just such a perfect combination of platforming and shooting. Really tight and balanced map design too. 15 months later and I'm still going at it, and thankfully there's a decently-sized player base too. :P

Bonus mention to

Demon's Souls
Team Fortress 2 (am I allowed to include is as 'this gen'?)
Monday Night Combat on XBL
Carcassone on iPhone
Words with friends also on iPhone
Oh god, MAG!! I have sunk a bazillion hours into this and I completely forgot it?!

Funny, I was thinking about this the other day. I'm not huge into the FPS genre but I played a ton of Rainbow Six: Vegas online.

Uncharted 2 comes in a close second, but I mostly played a lot co-op with just one buddy rather than the Vs. Until they changed a few things.

Without a doubt Battlefield 1943. It's my first Battlefield game and I've been enjoying it since it launched which surprises me considering how few maps it includes.

Uncharted 2. I love the agile gameplay and the verticality of the levels. I guess I also simply prefer third person shooters to FPSs. Can't wait for Uncharted 3!

I'm really enjoying Borderlands right now, though (yeah, very LTTP).

Outside of Street Fighter 4...

...it would be this by a large margin. Uncharted 2 is easily the best as far as shooting goes. Shit puts the rest of the ice skating gun bullshit to shame.

Near perfect now that you mention it. As a matter of fact, it isn't near perfect...it is perfect.

I had so much fun with MGS4 Online.... so addicted but dammit Konami screwed it up with their stupid update system -_-"

So the best Online experience had to go to LBP series \ Resistance FoM \ Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2.

In terms of total hours played, it would be COD MW2

In terms of the overall experience- it would have to be Team Fortress 2[which I've only started playing 3 months ago]

I enjoyed KZ2, even on my DSL connection. Setting up and sniping was fun for me, and being ready for people to come and find me and kill me was fun.

Warhawk no doubt. That bastard game stopped me enjoying anything else online cos I was near enough addicted. The depth (or shallowness) it can provide is astounding.

Love it!

Probably Left 4 Dead 1 with my friends. Really loved the characters and environments, we had a great time together (probably out first online co-op experience).

Number 1: Mario Kart DS. I'd play it with random people in school so often, we made a club together and almost started a league. Then our R buttons started breaking.

Number 2: New Super Mario Bros Wii.

After that, Metroid Prime Hunters, Team Fortress 2 (both 360 and PC versions), Monday Night Combat (both 360 and PC versions), Castle Crashers, Borderlands (just the 360 version), Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Minecraft, all of the console Tales of games released in the last few years, and Super Smash Bros Brawl, in no particular order.

And Pokemon. Oh Pokemon.

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood

The feeling you get when your assassin executes the wrong target as you run away is something no other online experience has given this gen.

bad company 2,so awesome and addicting

demon's souls, while fun, becomes boring very fast...after you played through the entire game in coop 2-3 times in one afternoon there isn't really much else to do
