Your favourite salad!

My standby salad is pretty simple (which is good at it means I can make it a lot):

-spring mix
-tomatoes
-cucumber
-bell peppers (whatever kind looks best in the store, I prefer yellow for colour though)
-some sort of seeds (sesame and pumpkin usually)
-feta

And then drizzled with a vinaigrette of some kind, usually raspberry. Sometimes I'll throw some strawberries in the salad in place of tomatoes.

I also like a good ranch salad with rubbed and grilled chicken on plain old cheap iceberg, beans, corn, red peppers, green onions, and as much ranch as possible without being too disgusting about it.

also a big fan of using this...

- mixed vegetables
- crab sticks
- dressing

I have never tried any sort of fruit in any salads, except for mandarin oranges.
My favorite is like a combo of a traditional salad and a fruit salad. A recent order of mine from a lunch place called Freshii:

Romaine
Spinach
Blueberries
Mango
Strawberries
Carrots
Broccoli
Sweet Corn
Cucumbers
Diced Tomatoes
Red Onion
Roasted Peppers
Mandarin Oranges
Green Apples
Balsamic Vinaigrette

Overkill, perhaps, but delicious. The flavors mix wonderfully, and dressing isn't even really needed. I also love a good apple/cranberry/walnut/goat cheese salad, or some variation of that.

I've got to try some of this.

Also, this tuna caesar is the shit. I don't think I can ever go back.

There is a disappointing lack of avocados in this thread. Mine:

Strawberries
Avocado
Feta
Reduced Balsamic Glaze
Citrus balsamic vinaigrette dressing
Lettuce (don't really have a preference)
Grilled Chicken

Good to hear it worked out. May have to find a recipe for a good Caesar.

My salad for lunch consisted of:
Romaine lettuce
Cherry tomatoes
English cucumber (diced)
Shaved carrot
Black beans
Bacon ranch dressing (I keep it at work)

Was good and filling.

Homemade Potato Salad or Macaroni Salad.

I also really like this other salad with spinach, apple, pecans, and some sort of poppyseed dressing.

7 layer salad!!!

Layers, from top to bottom:

Croutons
Cheddar Cheese
Sour Cream + Mayonnaise mix
green peas
black olives
lettuce
tomatoes

excluding home-made, Greek all the way, with grilled chicken on top. I eat a salad every single day for lunch, it's become one of my favorite foods in general. I never used to eat salads either, after I changed the way I eat my pallete changed and now I couldn't imagine not having one every day. I simply use Extra Virgin OO for dressing, with a little salt and pepper to taste.

Greek salad w grilled chicken from my local italian place

really though, anything with feta and walnuts/almonds on top is 100x better. i've been using 'tangy & spicy' almonds from trader joe's recently in my salads, really good.

Seaweed salad is pretty delicious. Probably not that healthy, though. I think most have some added sugar or something.

I'm really not a fan of salads. Guess I just don't care for rabbit food, and my distaste for dressings/cheese makes them even more dull for me.

big chunks of iceberg lettuce
sliced radishes
sliced carrots
kale
spinach
drizzle of ranch dressing

My favorite. Although I'm partial to pretty much any kind of salad. So good.

I gotta say, this salad here looks edible. It's nice and dense, there's a richness. I can tuck into this. Could use some rice, though.

Caesar salad with a deep-fried chicken breast. Only if I'm looking for taste, lol.

Otherwise, I'll make my own salad with romaine lettuce, black beans, a little beef or chicken, and some spicy/tangy sauce. My homemade salads are pretty spartan.

Mushroom, red onion, red peppers, tomato and sometimes grilled chicken with balsamic vinaigrette over spring mix. I love a good, fucking gigantic salad.

Awesome thread,

Feta or goat cheese
Cucumber
Spinach and letuce
cherry tomato
olives
red onion
chicken

Basically a greek/chicken ceasar, but without the unhealthy dressing.
