Your most cringe-inducing movie scene.

Interesting. I am admittedly completely ignorant about the book (was even blown back when I saw who wrote it) and so, the entire time, I was wondering if Rooney's character was a part of the book or if he was inserted by Hollywood for comic relief.

Chock it up as a victim of the times, I guess, but it made me cringe regardless.

oh he was in the book, but even more minor than the movie.

you should read the book, short enough to read in an evening.

All I'm sayin.......

The scene in Kill Bill part 2 where the Bride rips out Elle Driver's other eye. I love the fight leading up to it but I have to look away at that moment or I'll definitely regret it.

Yeah, that knife scene in Saving Private Ryan is really hard to watch. Definitely the most powerful and sad scene of the movie for me.

One that also gets me every time is the death of the snipers in Black Hawk Down. When that Somali dude finishes Shughart off with a pistol at point blank range, and then everyone swarms them and throws rocks and then drags their dead bodies out — ugh. And that actually happened, too.

Saving Private Ryan is the correct answer. Find myself avoiding that movie just so I don't feel my skin crawl and nausea rise as that scene unfolds.

It's been sitting on my shelf unopened for over a year now for this exact reason. =/ I'm not sure why I bought it...I love the movie but it is not a pleasant experience you want to watch again on a whim.

Yeah, that's another really good pick.

No Clockwork Orange?

Probably the the best movie that I've seen that I will never watch again. The... ...organic qualities of the rape seen just make it too much.

Home Alone

Getting shot in the crotch with a staple gun...no problem
Burning your hand on a door knob...ok
Getting hit in the face with paint a can...I can live with it
Watching someone step on a nail...that is where I lost it.

I think we've had another thread like this, as I remember being surprised before about the mentions of Saving Private Ryan. It never really moved me, as I personally found Mellish's character quite annoying, and I almost felt like applauding during the scene. Secondly, it's a war movie, and war is cruel. Both of them were fighting for their lives, and one of them had to lose his. So, it's not like it came out of nowhere.

As for myself, I've always found scenes that include breaking bones or teeth hard to watch.

EDIT: typo

The Patriot where they burn down the church with all the people in it.

Black Hawk Down, where the guy reaches in to the guys skin to pull out the bullet.

un-chien-andalou.jpg

Un chien Andalou, probably the reason why this film is still famous.

edit: If there is a good reason to become a Film professor, then it is to show this scene to a auditorium full of freshmen.

The end of Human Centipede 2, where
the pregnant lady crushes her new born babies skull under the accelerator peddle
, just, really dude? The first time I've ever literally said that out loud to a filmmaker. Tom Six, you are a bad man. I don't think I can watch anymore, if he ratchets the depravity up for 3 as much as he did for 2, it'll just be unwatchable, as if it wasn't already.

Oh, and that August Underground movie, a scene at the end where
a dude is fucking a very young girls corpse in a feaces and maggot covered bathtub
, why do I watch these things? I know it's only a movie but Holy shit that is beyond fucked up.

I didn't find that scene bad at all. Perhaps because it just looked silly to me. I did find the
teeth hammering
cringeworthy though.

spiderman 1 the bridge scene.

YOU MESS WITH ONE OF US, YOU MESS WITH ALL OF US!

completely took me out of the movie. hated it and cringed at how stupidity cheesy it was.

The Shower rape scene in American History X... It is the only moment in film I have actually had to walk away from (well that and I actually had fast forward through
genital destruction
in Anti Christ...

wait... and the scene in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
where shes in the shower bleeding after being raped..

Man... now that I think about it... sexual abuse in film is just cringe worthy in general...

Ill take the curb stomp in AHX over the rape scene any day.

Padme: We used to come here for school retreat. We would swim to that island every day. I love the water. We used to lie out on the sand and let the sun dry us and try to guess the names of the birds singing.

Anakin: I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth.

*Touches shoulder*

Blergechle! I cringe every time my son plays that movie and that part comes up (the worst part of a cringefest-filled movie)

What about my edit? If you haven't seen this August Underground movie, I probably wouldn't. And I know that saying that just makes it more appealing, but seriously, that particular image was just soul-numbingly horrifying. What was the guy thinking? There is a line surely.

Also...

"Master, sir... I've been wond-er-ing... what-are-midi-chlor-i-ans?"

Such awful line delivery from that character, young and old.

I haven't seen it, but my girlfriend told me it's pretty gruesome. I don't usually like to watch movies which feature gore for gore's sake. I don't have problems with excessive gore and cruelty, but I do want to have some story and atmosphere as well. That being said, perhaps I should watch the movie some day. ;)

Not a horror or suspense movie, but a comedy

Swingers

Every time Mikey picks the phone back up everyone in the theater kept groaning 'oh god stop no!'

This...

THIS...

THIS

All of the gory scenes in all of the world don't measure up to how uncomfortable this scene made me the first time I saw it. It was so hard to watch.

Actually, take back Irreversible for me as being the worst. Almost all of Human Centipede. Fuck that movie! I wish I had never seen it and it made me feel bad for at least a week after.

But that scene it Taxi Driver was pretty horrible too. I remember cringing during a few scenes in Drag Me To Hell. Especially the part when the Apple ads guy goes over to his girlfriends parents for dinner.

I'm gonna finally watch this movie tonight. I always thought it was some joke movie but I'm starting to think I saw a parody trailer of some sort.

Stir of Echoes fingernail scene. If you've seen it you know it.

GOD DAMN I CRAWLED OUT OF MY SKIN WHEN I SAW THAT

A serbian film. I figure you will most likely guess the part.

Didn't bother me too much because i can detach and i know its fake and stuff but id imagine if i was a less rational person or i was not as desensitized thanks to the internet id of been spewing up.

Episode 2 Sand conversation is pretty close but on a different plane.
Spiderman 3 has some "moments"

I don't know why but when I watched that one scene in one of the SAW movies where the dude had to cut his eye out to get a key placed behind it made my asshole pucker up like never before!

Different strokes for different folks. Irreversible haunted me for several days, but the only thing that made me feel bad about Human Centipede was that it was a bad movie. The sequel was far better, and I still have a vivid mental image of the main actor's sadistic chuckling, and the look in his eyes.
