Your most pleasant surprise Switch announcement from the presentation and after

Region-free, Arms, Super Bomberman R and Xenoblade 2 were very pleasant surprises. Splatoon 2 also being a sequel rather than an expanded port was welcome.

Oh and Suda51 announcing No More Heroes 3 and that it's his first game as director in a decade, how could I possibly forget.

Nothing yet. All that I'm interested in was already known/leaked.

Still preordered.

Xenoblade. I really hope the system will not be dead and abandoned before it releases. With the Switch you get extremely underpowered hardware for a super high premium price. No way it will be a success. Expect a price drop to $250 at E3 and to $199 by the end of the year.

You'd think Xenoblade 2, given that the original is my favourite jRPG of all time.

But really it's Bomberman. I'm so happy to see a Hudson franchise being used and it's sort of the perfect game at launch for the system, fitting the detachable controllers and 'sit down and play with friends' aspect so well.

- Joycon features, really wasn't expecting them to go the wiimote 2.0 route but I'm so glad they did.
-Arms
-Bomberman
-Splatoon 2, I figured it was going to be a port with some new maps and hairstyle options
-release date, 3th of march is now 6 weeks and 6 days away
-I am now excited about a mario 64 / sunshine style Mario.
-Shin Megami Tensei
-Xenoblade 2
-Region free
-Snipperclips
-Zelda on release. I wanted to believe, but all those rumors about a release date later this year...

I was pleasently surprised at how many RPG's there seem to be coming for the machine. This little machine might just be a gold mine for JRPG-fans like me, with Zelda, Dragon Quest, Xenoblade and Project Octopath Traveler already announced.

By the way, what kind of game is Disgaea? I have never playd the series, but being able to play both home and outside should open more opportunities to try out new things. I'm just sure should I bite on part 5 right away.

Wacky strategy rpg with A LOT of grinding. It's fun.

Tactical-RPG with a fuckton of content (including a fuckton of grinding), with funny characters, a funny universe, a godlike soundtrack and ton of jokes (including bad jokes).

- zelda on release date and da goat trailer
- 3.3. instead of 17.3. launch day
- ultra street fighter 2
- no vc presentation (negative)

During the presentation would be Xenoblade 2. Totally was not expecting it so soon, and with new character designs. As much as I liked previous xenoblades, the faces were always an issue for me.

After the presentation, I'm a lot more curious about Arms now. Aside from the terrible name, it looks like it could be fun.

I just found out, that the solo red/blue joycons they are selling are opposite coloured to the ones that come with the "neon" system.

So I can make two blue or two red joycons my standard.

MIND BLOWN.

The announcements of Xenoblade 2 and Fire Emblem Warriors had me spent. Both were distant hopes and they dropped those bombs back-to-back. Those trailers were damn roller coasters with me trying to figure out what games they were as they aired.

NMH sequel announcement, Super Mario Odyssey trailer, and BotW trailer were also highlights.

ARMS
Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade 2 releasing this year (I knew they'd get made, just not so soon)
Octopath Traveler

ARMS probably takes it overall.

Mario Odyssey: I just kept saying "What" and "Wow" with a big smile on my face all through the trailer.

Xenoblade 2: When I saw the Monolith logo, I was expecting a whole new game and NOT something Xenoblade related.

Dragon Quest Heroes I+II - Yay! I don't have to get a PS4 just for these games anymore!

Octopath Traveler: Honestly thought it was some kind of Tactics sequel/Ivalice spin-off of some kind, still looks great!

arms and multiple impressions of the controllers being awesome

Xenoblade 2 and Splatoon 2, mostly because I wasn't expecting total sequels. The first two Xenoblade worlds are so distinctive to me, I couldn't really fathom them already at work building more gigantic worlds to run around in. Figured they were cooling off after helping on Zelda. With Splatoon, they overhauled a lot of the mechanics and I was expecting them to only build new stuff on top of what they currently had.

After the event, definitely ARMS. Really caught my attention after watching the Treehouse stream and hearing word of mouth.

I feel like I should be more surprised about Super Mario Odyssey (because it looks cool) but Mario platformers just aren't grabbing me the same way anymore. Maybe I've just moved on.

Super Mario Odyssey was game of the show but Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was the biggest surprise, almost leapt out of my seat. The Zelda trailer nearly brought me to tears but I wasn't surprised by it being a launch title.

Too many things. Zelda being on time. The controller splitting in two. Octopath. Really everything but the price and the online fee was a pleasant surprise.

I really like the parental controls setup. This will probably drive me to get a Switch for kids in couple years once games come in and prices drop.

As much as I have been critical of the presentation, I was happy to see Bomberman back and what seems like a return to greatness for 3d Mario. 3D World was good but not great, I don't play multiplayer that much. I did like that Sonic Mania is coming, I'll probably get it on the PS4, though. I was happy to hear No More Heroes 3 will start development but we'll see if it can live up to the greatness of the first and hopefully improve it.

Edit: Fire Emblem Warriors, too. Although that's another heard and not seen really.

The 12345 punch served with Shin Megami Tensei, Octopath Traveler, Fire Emblem Warriors, No More Heroes 3 and Xenoblade 2.

Sadly none if those games will come out this year. 😔

Live Presentation with smoke machine and laser light - just how I wanted it to be ! Sadly the crowd was not integrated in audio file of the stream.

Zelda BoTW trailer blew me absolutely away. It was massive.

Mario Switch is a huuuuuge step up from 3D World.

The HD Rumble was quite interesting.

Xeno 2 looks beautiful.

-ARMS (looks fun after watching it more, kind of thought it looked stupid originally)
-No More Heroes sequel? hopefully
-Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey was amazing, totally beyond what I expected.
The cutscene direction in Breath of The Wild was top notch too, and very much a cut above other games and past Zelda games.

Assuming we already knew about Mario? Probably Fire Emblem Musou or Xenoblade 2 (as long as that frame pacing is improved, good Lord).

I appreciate this thread. I believe Nintendo is holding back for future Nintendo Directs and E3. We should focus on the fun titles that were shown. The games, how we can play them and who we can play them with is the most important part of gaming.

My pick - Xenoblade 2. I love all that is Xenoblade.

Runner-up - Snipperclips. My wife and I are looking forward to playing this co-op.

No More Heroes 3, HD rumble, and a high quality screen

I have a lot of complaints and criticisms but those are all big pluses in my book.
