Your most satisfying Sound/Visual effect in a game.

Dialog from The Many
in System Shock 2

"What is a drop of rain, compared to the storm? What is a thought, compared to a mind? Our unity is full of wonder, which your tiny individualism cannot even conceive."

so creepy

The Killzone chirp no doubt.
Killzone Chirp
Is this the Killzone sound you are talking about:

?
Nothing beats the satisfaction.
Killzone 2 Chirp
Killzone 2 Chirp.
Killzone chirp, easily.
Killzone chirp
The killzone chirp has been my iPhone message notification sound for ages now. It's so good.
Killzone chirp is still my favorite
killzone 2 chirp
Or the Killzone chirp.
Absolutely this.
Killzone 2 chirp, not the regular chirp but the headshot chirp.

Killzone chirp.
I buy the game for this.

I think we need a new Killzone.
Came to write this.
Yep, the Killzone chirp.
I loved the shotgun headshot squish and chirp in Killzone 2.
My fellow sons and daughters of Helghan!

"Next-Gen Filter" in Uncharted. It was a play on the fact that next-gen filters look like turd, in especially many early next-gen games (when last-gen was called "Next gen")

Incidentally... the filter is completely brown as if to say it looks like shit.

When you punched someone in the balls in the N64 wrestling games and you heard that bell sound.

The female announcer in Wipeout HD when you nail a perfect lap.

This right here.

UI sound-effect-wise, I have always been partial to those of Final Fantasy 8. I used the "stepped on a save point" sound as my computer's alert sound for a while.

Binary Domain's "PING!" sound for headshotting robots was also pretty good.

Agreed, BD has crazy good game feel to it, It's amazing how SEGA made shooting metal just as fun as a Doom shotgun in flesh.

And by rights it should become an staple just like the Doom shotgun, as this is how you do shooting metal.

Space Marine 40K has some good sound effects too, especially the Bolt Gun.

The swooping camera sound after an epic takedown in Burnout 3, followed by the rest of the game audio zooming back into normal time.

Platinum is the ABSOLUTE KING of audiovisual feedback in video games. Their unique brand of SFX when doing any sort of move is pretty much bliss.

Right now I'll go with MGR's parry, it never, never gets old to pull it off. You feel like a badass 100% of the time.

But really, pretty much everything you do flashes and sounds in a way that makes you feel awesome.

The sound design in Vanquish was pretty mediocre actually, especially when you compare it to what was happening on screen. Devastation is probably the best sounding game they've produced to date.

The Killzone 2 headshot chirp is so good.

But the thermal imploder is the best sound in recent memory.

The six million dollar man punch in MGSV is just great.

Vanquish absolutely has got great audio cues. You can tell what attacks are coming simply by listening to the sound and/or what the enemies are saying. You can parry invisible enemies simply by listening to their footsteps, which is super satisfying.

I was always partial to the Luminaire from Chrono Trigger...

Until I heard the Thermal Imploder going off like every other minute with my sub woofer cranked.

Goddamn

The PS1 console on sound is pretty epic as well.
