Original ideas:

- Deep space lovecraftian horror by From Software
- Roguelike stylish action game
- FPS mixing Bulletstorm's and Painkiller's crazy weapons and combo gameplay with Vanquish's powersliding craziness, mixed with Titanfalls double jumps/wallrunning/wall jumps. And jetpacks. And grappling hooks. And divekicks.
- Vanquish with Bulletstorm/Painkiller/DMC/Bayonetta-style crazy weapons, focusing on combos and stylish actions, with double jumps, wallrunning, walljumps, jetpacks, grappling hooks, divekicks and DMC's Rainstorm-type moves and gunflips.
- JoJo-esque fighter with characters inspired by 3rd Strike, UMvC3, Skullgirls DLC characters, Naruto's Jinchuuriki/Tailed Beasts and Bleach's Vizards. Mechanics inspired by Skullgirls' individual character mechanics, DMC3/4 and Bayo 1/2's weapons and combat mechanics, UMvC3' individual character mechanics and Smash, game speed similar to 3rd Strike, character designs by Alex Azad and Nathan Maurer aka Captainosaka.
- NBA Street 2-inspired arcade basketball game. Character designs by Alex Azad and Nathan Maurer.
- Fifa Street-inspired arcade soccer game. Character designs by same as the above.

Zone of the Enders 3
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure by Platinum
Metal Gear Rising 2
Gitaroo Man 2
Guacamelee sequel
Wonderful 101 sequel, or even a Power Rangers or Kamen Rider game by Platinum(but would gladly accept a solo character-action game featuring Wonder Red/Wonder Blue)

Honestly at this point I feel like Crash would be a waste of Naughty Dog's talent.

Honestly at this point I don't trust anyone else to do a proper Crash game.

Besides, getting a little tired of the whole Uncharted/Last of Us cinematic 3rd person shooters. Would like to see Naughty Dog mix it up a little.

- still a new Legacy of Kain (an actual one, Nosgoth hardly has anything to do with it)
- a good marvel game (that isn't Lego naturally, that game was great but talking about something like the arkham series instead)
- at this point I am adding a new Metroid to the list as well, also hoping for an actual one

Resident Evil Outbreak HD collection
Resident Evil 2 HD Remaster
Final Fantasy XII IZJS HD
Lost Odyssey 2
Dragon's Dogma 2
Castlevania - 1999 Battle
New Chrono game
Another Tekken with Lee Chaolan in it.

Don't do lists. Put some effort into it.

Obviously awesome new IPs like Horizon get me the most excited. But...

1. Crash Bandicoot made by Sony (ideally a small team at Naughty Dog)
InhtnBd.jpg
Crash was the franchise of my childhood. I have no doubt it would be a huge success if it returned to Sony's care. It'd be great if ND made it, but if they didn't want to there are lots of great devs who could really fucking nail it.

2. PlayStation All-Stars 2
I loved the first All-Stars. It was rough around the edges, but the characters were so accurate to their games and the combo mechanics so fun that I'm dying for a sequel with the care and support from Sony that the first game never got. Obviously the roster would be much expanded. I'd hope for additions like Cloud (FFVIIR makes this certain in my hypothetical scenario), Crash (you know, if #1 worked out), Dart (Legend of Dragoon), Abe (Oddworld), Wander (SotC), Ultra V (War of the Monsters) Chimera Hybrid (Resistance), Snake/Big Boss (Raiden was only in the first instead of Snake because of Rising's impending release), Iota/Atoi (Tearaway), Aloy (Horizon, gimme that new IP love) and so on. I'd be happy with a different take on the style of game, but it needs to be: 4 player, suited to ranged characters, and not use Smash's system. I really really want this game :(

3. WipEout
My favorite racing game. Quite frankly, PS4's not a real PlayStation until it gets WipEout*.

4. Patapon 4
These little eyeballs are just the best. Patapon 2 is easily in my top 3 favorite games of all time (
along with MGS4 and Shadow of the Colossus
). A new game for PS4 + Vita would absolutely blow my mind and utterly delight me. Just refine the gameplay of 2, add the awesome multiplayer systems of 3, and throw in lots of new ideas without throwing out the old ones.

5. MediEvil
I didn't get into MediEvil until after I played Sir Dan in All-Stars, but I fell in love with the character and the game pretty quickly. One can only hope that Guerrila Cambridge is working on something alongside Rigs and Killzone on their original baby. Clearly, based on the fan "leak" people really want this game. A mid-budget launch at $40 is exactly within Sony's MO.

6. Twisted Metal
PS4 is also not a real PlayStation until it gets Twisted Metal*. Plus it's Sony's longest running franchise (as long a new game does come eventually). Although Drawn to Death looks like TM on foot and I'm sure Sweet Tooth will guest star (as he always does).

7. Jumping Flash! for Morpheus
This would be an awesome retro throwback. The original was the first game Sony ever published for PlayStation. It would be a perfect fit for VR.

Others:
Ape Escape
LocoRoco
War of the Monsters
Warhawk (in retrospect this is probably actually #3 on my list, I would shit my pants if Warhawk 2 was announced)
Pikmin 4
MGR2
Armored Core
Motorstorm
Insomniac Spyro (not included above because 0% chance of happening - I believe in Sony Crash or All-Stars 2 before this)
ModNation Racers
Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Gravity Rush 2 would be on top of this list if I was including reveals, but the game was already announced so I didn't include it. I also only put things on the numbered list if I believe there is at least some possibility of them happening, however small.

*
I consider the four necessary franchises to be considered a true PlayStation system to be: WipEout, Twisted Metal, Ratchet and Clank, and Gran Turismo.

1. Final Fantasy VIII remake(A proper, true to the original one)
2. Dragon Quest VIII Vita
3. Rogue Galaxy Vita
4. All Digimon Worlds to psn
5. FF VIII prequel
6. Jet Set Radio Future Vita

Oh and a Crash bandicoot game.

Edit: Urghhh forgot ZEIII!
Half-Life 3
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Final Fantasy VIII Remake

The new trifecta.
Yasssssssssssssssss

An actual Metroid Prime game by retro
A 2D Metroid game
System Shock 3
Resident Evil 2 remake
FF Tactics 2
Megaman
Whatever the hell Mikami is working on now
Eternal Darkness

Now that TLG, FFVII Remake, and Shenmue 3 are a reality, what's on your updated list of dream game announcements that would elicit similar Holy $hit reactions if they got announced?

My list:

1. New Chrono game
2. Half Life 3 (of course)
3. Xenogears HD Remake (for consoles)
4. New Crash Bandicoot
5. Mario Galaxy 3
6. Dragon Quest XI for consoles

You literally covered exactly the games I have in mind. Only thing I'd add is Mario Sunshine remake.

I'd love to see the following sequels to some of my most beloved video games that I believe deserve them:

Freelancer 2
Portal 3
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3
Star Wars: Republic Commando (or Imperial Commando)
Quake V (in the style of Quake II and in the same universe)

And I'd also love remakes or remasters for the following games:

Gruntz
Homeworld: Cataclysm
Need for Speed II: Special Edition
Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2

And finally, I'd be incredibly excited for a PC version of the Metroid Prime series.

Conkers Best Fur day

Fallout NV 2 ( or another west coast fallout or even a damned Elder Scrolls by obsidian)

Half Life 3

Banjo Threeie

Demons Souls Remaster

A bunch of other Rare games Microsoft is sitting on cause reasons

Age Of Empires 4

Dragons Dogma Remaster

Mario 128 (a mario 64 sequel. As much as I liked Sunshine and Galaxy they didn't fill the role)

A proper open world pokemon console rpg would be insane

A Malazan Book of the Fallen game could be amazing

FF12 remaster

I could name a dozen other game like Metro 3, Red Dead 2, Animal Crossing 5, but I'm sure we'll get those before too long.

Republic Commando was a gem. I wish Disney had a good gaming branch, I know EA has the license but if they had something like WB entertainment they could do so much more with their franchises. Speaking of which, Marvel vs DC would make truckloads of cash if they release it in 2019, would like to see it based on smash bros.

Banjo-Threeie
Knights of the Old Republic I&II remakes
Star Wars: Dark Forces I&II remakes
Jedi Outcast remake
Jet Force Gemini sequel or remake.

Any one of these would make me stupid happy.

  • Core Design's Tomb Raider: Anniversary Edition
  • Heavenly Sword 2
  • WET 2
  • A Core Design-developed (the studio is gone but I mean developed by former Core employees) spiritual successor to the classic Tomb Raider games
  • Prince of Persia (2008) sequel
  • The Order: 1886 sequel

-Mario Strikers without Superstrikes
-Arcade gameplay Winning Eleven
-Nazo no Murasame 3D combat focused
-3D Megaman with Mario World engine
-Pokemon 3D combat (not fighting like Pokken)
-Nintendo x Capcom
-Online F-Zero
-Pokemon SRPG
-Spelunky 2
-Super Smash Bros 5 with Melee-esque Mechanics
-Mother 3 Cell shaded style

This topics normally make me sad

sequels to:

Ice Climbers (there could totally be a Super Mario 3D World style evolution of this game)
Kid Icarus (NES) (there could totally be a Metroid Prime style evolution of this game, but I'd take the missing SNES sequel as well)
Mr. Do! (either something like Pac Man Championship, or something like Tetrisphere)
Lode Runner (the XBLA one was great, more please!)
Pilotwings 64 or Resort
F-Zero 64 or GX
Wave Race 64 or Blue Storm
Mario 64 or Mario Sunshine
Descent (not interested in the multiplayer focused thing)
Rocket Robot on Wheels
Beetle Adventure Racing
Zack and Wiki
Thief (I loved the last one, but it seems doubtful they will make more)

and most of all Bungie's remake of The Marathon Trilogy

1: Resident Evil 2,3 remake
2: Silent Hill remake or a new sequel, would not mind a reboot at this point
3: Dino Crisis remake, reboot or 4
4: Haunting Ground remaster (please capcom you're sitting on a gold mine)
5: Crash Bandicoot
6: Fatal Frame 6
still waiting for 5...
7: Rule of Rose remake or sequel, a remaster is not recommended

1. Dragon's Dogma 2
2. Dragon's Dogma 3
3. Dragon's Dogma 4
4. Metroid Wii U
5. Dragon's Dogma 5

Ahahaha! This list looks great. I'd just add the following:

6. Ace Combat 7
7. Metal Gear Solid: another Solid Snake game before he becomes Old Snake
8. Final Fantasy IX: Remake
9. Dragon's Dogma 6.
10. Dogma's Dragon

1. Crash Bandicoot made by Sony (ideally a small team at Naughty Dog)

It was rough around the edges, but the characters were so accurate to their games and the combo mechanics so fun that I'm dying for a remake with the care and support from Sony that the first game never got.

You're a good person, if I may add some characters to the mix:

Pomeranian (Tokyo Jungle)
Fetch (Infamous: First Light)
Kutaro (Puppeteer)
Hero (Patapon)
Sir Galahad (The Order (lol))
The Prince of Planets (Katamari Damacy)
Lil & Laarg (Escape Plan)
Knack (Knack)
T-Rex (That PS1 demo)
Tony Hawk (Tony Hawk's Pro Skater)

Now that humanity has transcended, dreams come true and everything is possible, I'd want to see a full-fledged Chrono Trigger remake. The Kingdom of Zeal in 4K on the PS7, just imagine.

Also, an open-world lovecraftian game. True Detective-esque style and atmosphere. The side-quests could even be reimaginings of Lovecraft's stories such as Charles Dexter Ward, Shadows over insmouth, the reanimator, and his many other less known short-stories. Oh, the possibilities.
It'll never happen

Metroid WiiU
SMT5
DMC5
Kotor 3
Mega Man anything
MGR: 2
Vanquish 2

Oh yeah. Shin Megami Tensei V for a home console. I almost forgot that was a thing I wanted. Probably because I have no hope in Atlus doing another main series title for the next 10 years.

Half Life 3
Metroid (2D or First Person, as long as it's a legit Metroid)
F-Zero
KOTOR 3
Red Dead Redemption 2
Some kind of Super Mario RPG sequel or remake

Here's my list. A few of these things might be happening or in the works already, but I tried to restrict myself to real dream games, and not things that are 100% inevitable (like Danganronpa 3, Shin Megami Tensei V, a new Donkey Kong Country, etc). I also didn't include any asking for localizations or ports. These are my dream games, not dream remasterings or dream translations.

Zero Escape 3: Yeah, we might be getting an announcement soon, but until then I'm going to keep thinking of it as a dream game for my own sanity.

Paper Mario 3: It's been far too long since The Thousand Year Door, and the franchise has been completely dormant. This can't continue. The Thousand Year Door is still one of my favorite games of all time, and I'd love to see a new title in that vein.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King 2: Do I need to say anymore? The original was one of the most addicting games of last generation, and I would play the shit out of a sequel. I would love to see a new game that took the original as a base but added even more involved mechanics, let you build the city out even more, expand your territory, etc. This is kind of my ultimate dream game right now, and the one that I think sadly has one of the lowest chances of actually happening.

Final Fantasy XVI by Hiroyuki Itou: Come on Square, let Itou out of his cell already and put him back in the director's chair. We really need to see him have another go at building an awesome RPG.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth 2: This is probably fairly likely, but it will still make my list because of how badly I want it. Cyber Sleuth was one of my favorite games of the year, and I'd love a game that took that game's mechanics and added a whole bunch of extra Digimon, I'd be happy with either a story sequel or just a brand new game using the same game play. There could also be some real room for improvements in terms of extra evolution requirements and making the combat more challenging (imagine if most of the bosses in that game were on par with the Demon Lords DLC battles or some of the Royal Knights fights).

Banjo-Threeie: It's been a long, long wait since Banjo-Tooie, and while Yooka-Laylee is going to scratch the itch for me, I'd also like to see a proper new Banjo game. I really want to play as those characters again. I know Rare hasn't put out anything like that in a long while, but some of the old staff are still there, and even if it wound up not working out perfectly, I'd really like to see it.

A new Ogre game with Matsuno involved: It will probably never happen, but hey, that's what makes it a dream game.

A Malazan Book of the Fallen game could be amazing

I feel like a game in the vein of Tactics Ogre would be a nice fit for Malazan. Something like that would be well suited at translating the scope and scale of the world into a video game, and would give the possibility for some real epic battles with characters of very different power levels.

At this point I don't even know anymore.... Times are so fucking good, we are getting sequels / remakes / spiritual sequels to practically every game I've ever loved. Deus
Ex, Planescape, FFVII, Ico, Dark Souls, etc.

I'd take Half Life 3 I guess but at this point there is so much great content out there I'm not exactly begging at Valve's doorstep.

1. Final Fantasy Directed by Hiroyuki Ito
2. Metroid Wii U
3. New Miyamoto IP
4. New F-Zero
5. Deadly Premonition 2

Felt good knocking Shenmue 3, Nier 2, The Last Guardian and Star Fox off my list.

Suikoden (6 or reboot)

Final Fantasy 12 HD

- Hotel Dusk (finale)

Zero Escape 3

The Worlds Ends With You 2
