Preferably? Whichever side wouldn't rape me or use me as a prostitute. And seeing as I'm a man of color my only options are Bloods/Crips. I've always liked the color red and hated blue, so.. this is an easy choice.

As far as within the prison system the aryan brotherhood is insane and violent as hell.
To be fair those are mostly cali gangs tho I've seen one sureno tag in my city.

You don't get raped by your own gang, you join a gang partially to avoid it. So you'd want to join the gang that would rape you the MOST if that was a concern.

Pretty much, and not only would you have no choice but they would approach you within your first week and give you an ultimatum.
Also the fact that there is no such thing as an Asian mafia. I remember listening to a lecture of a Hong Kong criminologist who came to study possible Triad links in America to Hong Kong.
Long story short: A bunch of punk kids who figured out by 30 that crime doesn't pay and went on to get real jobs while letting the younger guys take charge. So it's all show and no pull.

Your own gang does rape you too depending on how girl-ish you are. You might even have to be someone's bitch in return for protection, and that might include all sorts of cocksucking and ass raping. At least this is what my brother tells me, and he was in jail on and off for ten years straight.
Realistically, I'd go for whoever guaranteed me the least rape - and AIDS-free rape, please. The Aryan Brotherhood would reject me for my last name - Goldberg - and the blacks would reject me for being too white. The bloods and crips would reject me by default. Even though my mom is 100% Puerto Rican, I speak no spanish and am not even particularly well meshed with the culture, so I'm not sure the Spanish crew or the Mexicana crew would take me. The Asian Crew would laugh at me most like.
I'd probably try to go with the Aryan Brotherhood, in the hopes that my supreme white-looking-ness would overcome my jew-ness, but it's a long shot. I expect to be ass reamed over and over, probably with syphilis or HIV infection within a week.

Really though, I hear that as long as you keep to yourself, nobody will fuck with you, as long as you don't stand out in terms of appearance.
Guards don't carry guns inside the prison the cops that watch the yard in towers are armed however.

Why would there be prisons gangs at all if all it took to guarantee your safety was a simple matter of keeping your head down?
You could ask to be placed in protective custody but that's not 100% either.
These crews can be pretty hypocritical from the documentaries I've seen on the subject. If you provide a service and are white enough looking, even if you might be jewish, the Aryan Brotherhood might accept you. Just tattoo a swastika on your arm and you're in

I figure alot of these guys already have some prior gang affiliation before coming to jail, or are engaging in something illegal on the inside and need gang protection because of it.
