YouTube Me!

Status
Not open for further replies.
Fixed
  • Won't Embed User Tags
  • Display Videos Without Doubling
  • Added &hd=1

Other video sites could be added, but I think that it would be too much? Maybe I'll add a few other popular ones, but not sure atm.

I think this should be standard for the forum software. However, not being able to stream the intermediate quality video (&fmt=18) kills it for me. That, and I love my YousableTubeFix greasemonkey script.

how do I update it with the fixes? I reinstalled link for small version in OP but issues remain

Right-click on the monkey near the bottom right corner of firefox and go to manage user scripts (if not there click on Tools->Greasemonkey->Manage user scripts). Uninstall any instance of the neogaf youtube me script, go back to the op link and reinstall the script.

It depends on the video, this will play the HD version if there is one, and if you press the play button, the HQ version may show up depending on the source.

I'm getting errors where a video appears multiple times.
Have you updated to the latest version (delete script and reinstall)? The old version had a bug that would duplicate videos in the original post if someone quoted it, latest version has that fixed.

Almost forgot to thank you for fixing the bugs! No problems with it so far.

Give this man back his avatar, he has earned it
I agree with this post 100%.

You guys are too kind, If only I could get an avatar of my choice...

Version 2 is now up, it adds a "button" next to links, which reduces load times since the videos won't have to get the preview from YouTube.

Also, I hope I made the whole thing more comprehensible to people reading the first post.

Thanks to this thread, I noticed another "bug." When someone links to a Youtube user page, a blank box appears above the link.

The version 2 of the script has a "play now" link next to it but when you click it comes up with a white box. So both have the same bug.

I can't change it though, but I guess it's more identifiable than the other one.

Fixed another bug on v2, which wouldn't create videos for links 10+. Since it counts how many links are in a page, any links more than 10 got screwed up.

Congratulations on your avatar. :lol Haha. I guess you can treat it as an avatar tag.

I installed the large one but it's far too large for me so I installed the small one. Perfect size. But the large one still appears. Any way to uninstall the large one?

In went with version 1 btw.

Fucking awesome job man.
Tools - Greasemonkey - Manage User Scripts - Highlight the original one and uninstall.

Yeah I guess so, it would be cool if it were a tag/link that lead to this thread :] The more people that can use this the better.

It seems like the code is pretty stable, so I haven't made any changes. However, I haven't stopped me from working on some other scripts.

This one is a bit of a joke, but use it if you want, I've noticed like at most 10% of all posts have a FAIL...

Wow, so many people fail :lol

Also, I'm loving your youtube fix, thanks so much :)

I think you're allowed to have it larger than 90x120 but it can't scale past 120px when it is scaled to 90x wide.

:lol I guess I wasted a bunch of time then.

At least my heart was in the right place.

Yeah, maybe you wasted time or maybe not...

in the TOS (you know the document we ask you to read when you register) it clearly states the max avatar size is 90x120x150kb.

The forum automatically resizes all avatars to be 90 pixels in width. This may be something that hasn't been made clear to everyone, but this causes alot of avatars to be resized over the limit.

Avatars over the limit may lead to a ban, or permanently gimped avatar privileges.

So anything over 120 is more than not good.

if it's 100x130 it will scale to 90x117 which is fine. if it's 100x140, it will scale to 90x126 which is over the limit.

Is it possible to make this work in ie8 at all?
ie8? Not to my knowledge.

Browsers that support userscripts are: Firefox (possibly other Gecko branches too), Opera, and apparently Safari 4beta; not sure about Chrome.

All I see is a blank white box where the vid is supposed to be.
Is your connection speed a problem? Sometimes exiting Firefox and starting it up again works.

I frequent another vbulletin forum that does this automatically. I think i'll link them to this so he can remove it since that shit be annoying.

Penny-Arcade. I wish I knew the name of the extension so I could modify it to work on punBB. (My forum's software.) I had to add embedding tags myself.

Nice script. I just installed GreaseMonkey to try it out. I modified the large version to be slightly smaller though. (800x500)
