Well, at least Wii included a big hit like Wii sports
Lower than I anticipated honestly. It's an ok launch number but I wouldn't call it great
I realize Zelda has never been as strong in Japan as in the West but given the few amount of titles available Day 1 for Switch I just anticipated a better attach rate

Japan has the second biggest game launches in the worldDo games usually have a bigger debut in Japan than the UK? I remember someone saying in a thread yesterday games doing over 100k in the UK is very good. So for a smaller country 193k for Zelda sounds amazing. But apparently it isn't as good as I thought.
We haven't still past a week.
It's retail only.
There aren't enough switches.
Switch is not cheap
And Arms.Word of mouth will give it legs. 40/40 in famitsu
And Arms.
It's just going to grow a whole body isn't it?
If it grows too much it's just going to burst and go splatoon.
Of course, the big difference here can be explained by the Wii having a massively popular pack-in game in Wii Sports. All the Switch has is 1,2 Switch... For 50 more dollars. LOLWii launch:
Wii - 371,936
TP - 145,068 (39% attach rate)
Switch launch:
Switch - 330,637
BotW - 193,060 (58% attach rate)

japan don't care about zelda

Edit: Oh, forgot Wii sports wasn't a pack-in in Japan. Which just goes to show it was a good enough game that people wanted to buy it separately.

I'm really wondering about these 130,000 people.
Did they buy it for 1-2 Switch? Bomberman?
PS4 is keeping the dream alive (barely). Switch is pretty much the new handheld in japan while its the new console/handheld here in the U.SI know they game a lot on handhelds but I heard consoles are practically dead there. I can't imagine big 3rd party games doing the second best in Japan in relation to the rest of the world.

To be fair BotW is bigger than all three of those titles put together. Both Wii Spots and Wii Play outsold TP at the Wii launch. Nintendo had 3 big titles. It's never happening again at their new productivity levels.

Is this a meme or something?Zelda is dead in Japan. So much for 1 million LTD that some users hoped in Mediacreate. It also shows that Comgent shouldn't be used to extrapolate sales figures.
To be fair BotW is bigger than all three of those titles put together.
What are 3DS launch week sales? 330k for Switch does seem really good compared to consoles, but how about compared to handhelds? For the record, A Link Between Worlds debuted at 224k in Japan and Majora's Mask 3D at 230k.

PSVITA was 321k
Horizon Zero Dawn
