No where close.

It generally excelled at what it aimed for, with interesting combat, puzzles, dungeons and story.

What the fanbase didn't like was the linearity, handholding and overall lack of exploration (as well as some pacing issues)

So it wasn't a mess like Andromeda was, but some of the decisions made were not in line with fans wishes and it was not the reboot the series needed.
