feels like I'm filling it up once a week. Every 50c lighter holds longer than that. The last one easily 2 months. I bought it for the image, you know sturdy, reliable etc. but it's not very reliable if it doesn't hold longer than a few days. Another useless american piece of hardware.

4-5 a day. And it's not the fuel either, even when I was using zippo fuel I had the same issue.

I don't smoke. I bought a Zippo cause I loved the clicking sound. I don't even light it sometimes, I just absentmindedly click it open and shut. Fuel does go fast though.

You're using it for the wrong reasons. Zippos are meant for outdoorsy types, who run into conditions where normal lighters don't work. If you're using them to smoke a pack while playing CoD, then yeah, stick to Bics.

Zippo lighters don't "suck," but they belong to a different age. OP is complaining about the length of time between adding fuel with a Zippo vs. a modern butane lighter is like comparing the number of miles you get from a horse before needing to feed it vs. miles from a tank of gas.

Zippos kick ass. The one I use I have had for almost a decade. Fill it up once every few weeks, replace the flint every few months. If the hassle of the two minutes it takes to refill it is a problem for you, I think there may be other issues that need to be dealt with in your life.
Also, their lifetime guarantee is no joke, sent mine in a few years ago when the roller itself stopped turning. Got it back a few weeks later all shined up, fixed, and with a free can of fuel to boot.

Zippos were a great invention before butane lighters were invented(1960s I believe) now a days though they are really more of a novelty.

I used to use a Zippo. The novelty wore off pretty quick. If the fuel didn't need refilling then the flint needed changing. If the flint didn't need changing then the wick did. Also they stink and you can taste the fuel. Just too much hassle.

I do wonder if they are marketed as an environmentally friendly option (like many refillable items) but actually create more waste from empty fuel cans.
