Show us your gaming setup: 2014 Edition

It's not super fancy, but I like it. I have hooked up a Wii U, Raspberry Pi (with Retro Pie), Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Dreamcast. Hoping to grab a PS4 early next year.

Oh, yeah. I have a shelf dedicated to Lupin III stuff, for those that care!

Got a PS4 to get ready for Destiny. (It is hard to get good lighting on my setup without a flash.)

Now I have a PS3-PS4-WiiU-Bluray player-Denon AVR-Cable Box-AirportExtreme-Panny 50" Plasma (wall mounted by myself)-B&W 683's-Klipsch RW12d Subwoofer (boom!)-and surround speakers too.

Looks great. love the speakers and great cable management. Only Gripe, my OCD can't help but look at the lack of symmetry going on with the mount and stand.

That's true. I had to work hard on the cable management!

The thing is that I was not moving wall sockets or electrical outlets. So the subwoofer is hiding an electrical outlet behind it, and the left B&W is hiding a cable outlet, and the painted cable hider thing is going up the wall in the place close to where the HDMI input on my TV is located and so that the TV wouldn't be pushed out by the cable hider or also the TV wouldn't be pushed out by extra HDMI cable, and the TV is located in what we thought was the optimal viewing location rather than in the location that would allow the best symmetry.

Most of the time we watch TV play games with the lights out. Anyway, Thanks!

Here's my new small setup in my BEQ:

Just an Xbox One right now. I want to get a PSTV to play Vita games.

My 360, PS3 and gaming PC are back home. I'm probably gonna bring my PC back with me when I take leave during Christmas stand down.

why does it look like your tv is straight but your floor and everything else is on a slant?

Thanks! We love the floor. Had to redo it last year after this happened...

i'm so happy with those.

Should be getting my new 51F8500 tomorrow.
Might post pics :D

Post pics! Yes I love my 683's. Lot of golden ear internet Audiophiles criticize them compared to their favorite extremely niche speaker company, but I never listen to those people. The 683's sound so great.

So many good set-ups.
Been lurking on here awhile now seeing everyone's different tastes and ways of utilising places, really good stuff.

Took some pictures of my set-up but when I got them on the mac I wasn't happy with the results, so hopefully I'll get some on soon, although for some reason it is a little un-nerving showing what you enjoy in the hope nobody thinks its lacklustre!

Some great things on here guys, really.

Yeah, I love lurking this thread. Makes my setup seem very archaic.

I gotta get a PC tower stand thing. Something to get it off the carpet and give it a tabletop above it to hold some stuff. I'll probably just end up going Ikea like everything else :p

I'll post some more once I refinish my basement. It got messed up after having record rainfall here on Long Island and I am in the process of redoing my flooring.

It is mainly for all of my consoles 10+ years old, with the exception of the Wii and my handhelds. It is more of my "Retro room". All wood paneling on the walls to give it that retro vibe. Brings me back to my youth. Not too retro though since I don't care too much for that really dark stuff my parents used in our home growing up. Yuck!

IMG_1955.jpg

Pic is like 6 months old. I have a few more things now. All of it is from my childhood until now. Nothing is purchased solely to add to it. All of this comes from actually having it and growing up with it, including all the games.

Nice! Did any of your consoles ever break?

Some amazing setups on here, relatively new to these forums (hi there)

Not very tidy or super recent but this is currently where it's mostly upto here, few more piles of games all over the place but nothing much has drastically changed.

SAM_0176%20res.jpg

Have my pc hooked upto tv for emulation ect, rest of the consoles connected are PS3/360/Wii/gamecube

Im kind of an oddity as nearly all of my collection is Japanese imports for Nintendo stuff & western for the rest.
SAM_0179%20res.jpg

Have a cabinet for some of my more treasured items, things kind of get circulated in there but some of the rarer stuff stays in to keep it safe behind glass.

First post here :) Imgur links, as I couldn't get any other site to work with this site, pictures not showing, and Imgur pictures were at a stupid resolution.

Xbox One with a PS3 sitting beside it, two Xbox One Controllers. This area is a bit dusty as there was some work being done to the wall today, not had time to dust it yet.

http://i.imgur.com/2g4Y30b.jpg

Playstation 4 sitting behind one of my PC monitors, not really anywhere else I could have put it.

http://imgur.com/NjvNKmS

Some posters on the wall by the door. Darkness 2 poster from box, GTA V map, Skyrim map, and Joker/Harley Quinn poster from Villain Lootcrate.

http://imgur.com/FQSbjYm

Wall above my bed has this model tank collection I was collecting over a period of 2 years, finally filled the shelves a few weeks ago.

http://imgur.com/xXpLtGl

2 PS4 controllers on a nice dock I just bought, so much easier keeping them here so they are always 100% charged to play.

http://imgur.com/WrWt7zt

iPad 3 for doing stuff and things, don't use it in the house much, but use it all the time when out.

http://imgur.com/FlHOIK7

TV wall mounted above my PC monitors. 50" LG 3D Smart TV, only recently got this, used to have a 42" Smart Panasonic, but my parents wanted a new TV so I got this bigger better one, and gave them my old one.

http://i.imgur.com/nSKTtam

Keyboard and mouse/mouse mat. Razer Blackwidow ultimate 2013, Razer Deathadder 2013. Mouse mat is a big Razer Goliathus.

http://imgur.com/Sq3LZy4

PC case. CM Storm Enforcer. PC specs are i7-3770K @ 3.50Ghz - 16GB HyperX Beast RAM - 6GB HD7990 - 1TB WD Caviar Black - Corsair RM1000 PSU - Windows 7 64 Bit.

http://imgur.com/PrgSZN1

PC Monitors, two 22" Iyama ProLite E2273HDS's one 27" Iyama same model.

http://imgur.com/AbuQOcS

Headset I use, Logitech G920. Really nice headset, good mic, noise cancellation, wireless and 7.1 surround.

http://imgur.com/Kg9ngGz

One of two wall mounted plug extensions (Both full to the brim). Without these all of my wires were at my feet, and it got really annoying.

http://imgur.com/SugOix0

All of these wires are just from my PC, not including the ones for my chargers, Consoles and other stuff.

http://imgur.com/eDC8Oct

The lights in the background mounted all across the wall are colour changing, lots to choose from.

Love Impotaku's collection. Its a nice break from the modern ,minimalistic setups. I could spend hours just staring at all those trinkets and games.

Nice collection you've got there Impotaku.
Welcome to Gaf. For pictures to work you'll need to copy the link to the picture no the page that contains the picture.

Like this for example http://i.imgur.com/0oaP7A6.jpg[*img] becomes this if you replace the asterix with a forward slash /
[img]http://i.imgur.com/0oaP7A6.jpg
Also nice setup you've got with the three four screens all packed together.

When I do that it doesn't work. Example: [IMG]http://imgur.com/Sq3LZy4

It does this for all of the links I tried posting with Imgur. Just thought I'd not bother and post direct links.

You need to link to the image itself, taking your example from above, it should be: http://i.imgur.com/Sq3LZy4.jpg

When viewing the image in the pop-up viewer on imgur, click on the image again so that it opens in a blank page by itself, that's the link you need - the direct link.

The direct link is also found on the pop-up when viewing an image, it's under "Direct Link (email & IM)"

So I randomly bought an office chair from some guy on the high Street last night at 3:00am.
Good chair, but when you sit on it it 'sinks' and then raises when you stand up.

Has anyone had success fixing this in an office chair?

p.s. I have aquired an Apple Keyboard and Magic mouse (I use PC). I want a PC keyboard, but the apple one looks so cool. Is there an equivilant to the minmal sleek look of the Apple Wireless Keyboard?

That is the link I was using for that example.

Uh. You bought a chair from a guy in the street at 3 o'clock in the morning? That sounds a little weird to me!

It sounds like the air lift thing inside has broken. I've had this happen to a couple of chairs after extended use (after having them for like 3 years.) Sadly, I could never fix it, but I'm sure it's possible.

Most definitely, I just fixed a desk chair I bought in 2003 (even though the company went out of business). I found the company that took over the handling of their replacement parts, they only had the air lift which they sent out to me since the original had a 15-year warranty. When the arms broke I brought one of them into Staples - matched its design to another office chair arm, called Staples and ordered two replacement arms for $15 each.

One more thing, the Basset executive chair I fixed? It cost me $330 in 2003, there was no way I was gonna throw it out - I was hell-bent on fixing it. Check your warranties on your chairs.
