I love the snow level so I ended up playing a whole lot more today:

So, after lurking through the thread for a few days, i cannot resist any longer.
Since i have a i5+5850 i figured i might give this a try.
Ofcourse i have both a wii and a gamecube, but wow, some of these screens were mindblowing, so i'm following the steps in the OP and setting everything up, but i have a question:

I've downloaded the latest version fo Dolphin(r6353) and the GCpad /wiimote configuration windows are fairly different and so are the INIs.
I don't have (yet) a bluetooth adaptor, so i can't use an actual wiimote, but if i want to play, say, NSBW with a x360 pad, how can i mimic the waggle(needed to throttle)?
I still have to try even one game (still have to figure out HOW to rip them from the disc, it would be much easier to just pop the disc in :lol), so for now this is my only perplexity, probably a dumb one, too.

I haven't emulated any Wii games myself, but to my understanding, you can install a homebrew app on the Wii which rips the game and exports it onto a HDD.

This link provides information on how to do that, or you could check out the Wii home brew thread for extra support.

Just for shits and giggles, someone should take some HD screens of COD4:Reflex (preferably not from the tanker level).

I'm loving all of your Goldeneye shots! I'm also really enjoying that game.

If anyone has time, I'd love to have a high-res capture of the final Bowser battle in NSMBWii for wallpaper purposes!

I second this.

Oooh, yeah. That would be awesome. I don't like playing in emulation but looking at these pics is great.

.

I'm using DS2, but it will be the same principal. For NSBW, map the tilt to analog shoulder buttons, and assign shake (pick-up items/fly) to any button you fee comfortable with. This game actually works a TON better with DS2 than with the actual wii controller. I assume the 360 controller would be the same experience.

I ended up finishing the game last night, the Jungle actually looked quite nice in high-def. Not as good as the snow level, but it was probably my second fav level to see in HD.

Sorry if already shown (didn't see on the previously posted game list), but I gotta ask.

What settings are you using?

Wow, Goldeneye looks really good! Great screens Stallion!

I don't own any 1st person shooter for the Wii (rented a few) but I would play Goldeneye on the PC. Problem is I have no bluetooth and would have to play with my 360 controller... An Idea I'm not entirely fond of. Is there a way to use a PC mouse to play this or CoD for example? And does it feel right? I know its not programmed with a mouse in mind, but it could still be way better than the 360 controller.

Not sure why you wouldn't just get a bluetooth receiver, they're pretty cheap.

Yeah I know, I just have no urge to play on my PC with my Wiimote. Its either Mouse or Gamepad depending on the game. Maybe its because I tried setting the Wiimote up with my old laptop a few years back and didn't get it to work for whatever reason...

Scitek, that's fucked up that you didn't at least link to the other forum. Give them proper credit.

I don't think I can link to them on GAF. :lol Let's say I rehosted them to get rid of the porn links.

You only wear that jacket for about the first 10- minutes of the game. So, congratulations?
I'm fairly certain Leon has that hair for the entire game, that gun for more than 10 minutes, and he also has his hands. So yeah, congratulations are in order :p

I'm guessing this is using some kind of texture pack for the PC version in the emulator?

That's the big deal people have been waiting for. Some people tout the PC version as the definitive one due to the texture pack available, and others prefer the lighting and deal with the low-res textures of the Wii version. PC textures in the Wii version is something we've been waiting for for a long time. :D

About time.

It's the only thing the PC version has over the emulated Wii version (and I guess now no longer), and people clung to it like it's the best thing ever, ignoring the other dozen, more important, aspects of the PC that are far inferior due to it being made from the inferior PS2 port.

Yeah, it looks like the PC custom texture pack placed into the Wii files. I have PC RE4 and I only ever used the Gamecube texture pack because the shit you posted looked really inconsistent and generally quite shitty. They stick out like a sore thumb against the background.

I also hate how some of the textures just look like they were run through a sharpen filter a couple times.

Have a technical question. Recently updated to a newer build (r6321). However, I am getting this real annoying drift in both my analog sticks. Never had this problem before. Anything I can do to fix it?

Up the deadzone just a bit, maybe to around 5?

Hey, if anybody is buying the Ubi Soft's Battle of Giants: Dinosaurs Strike, can you get some dolphin screens? I'd love to see if the actual game matches Ubi Soft's bullshots.

It seems like it could be a pretty good looking game.

Holy shit, that Dino game looks awesome. I will pick it up on the cheap at some point down the road. It looks like it will be in the bargain bins pretty quick based on how much I have seen about it (nothing).

So, homebrewed Wii is the only way to rip games? Bummer, since I have now much more free time I was considering fulling the request for Reflex, WaW and Black Ops Dolphin screens.

If it isn't too much trouble could you get one from the next part of the boss fight? Particularly in the lava section.

Okay, I'll try to get one tomorrow. Gotta wake up early tomorrow.

You can rip them if you have a certain LG dvd drive if I remember right. Don't know which LG drives can rip them though.

I haven't had much luck getting Reflex to actually show the game, I can get to the menu though.

After lurking this thread for so many months I'll finally be able to give this a try this weekend. I'm getting a Phenom II X4 3Ghz so I'm hoping it'll help...of course my graphics card is still crap. Can't wait to try out PN03, should be interesting...if it works.

So, just looking for pure conjecture here, do you guys think this kind of emulation would ever happen on a future Nintendo system? I mean, why not make the Wii2 play Wii games at an upscaled resolution? Would it just not have the power? Also, is there anyway to do this without fucking with the firmware on my Wii?

The next Nintendo console would need to be powerful enough to run an emulator like Dolphin.

Hopefully they won't upscale the games, but actually run them in HD. When you say upscale, it means just making the size of the image bigger, not making it a higher resolution.
