What's the surprise about? Since the GAMEBOY ADVANCE Nintendo is releasing a new portable like every year or year and a half. At this point, a 3DS redesign should have been expected. Wait, there will be AT LEAST 2 redesigns. Welcome to reality --- that works like that since 10 years or more.

I was asking a question. I just really can't remember gb micro's price at the moment because I never kept track of the system.
"thickness improved" if that means a thinner 3DS, then I don't want it.
Also if it's thinner I find it hard to believe the battery life could be improved much, if at all.

At the very least I expect models in fall of this year to sport less chips and smaller chips to have better battery life. There may not be a redesign, but new 3DS version should have better battery life over what we have now.
Also, the PS Vita will probably get a chip revision within its first year considering that they are using smartphone internals.
