The Goal of the "Let's Watch Anime" thread is to bring together the anime community (even "casuals") to watch a lesser known anime series to discuss and share our reactions towards it at the same time. Participation in each episode is appreciated, but “catch-up” by watching multiple episodes can be done as everyone has different responsibilities/time to watch the anime. Just don’t post on future episodes unspoilerd, lol. The more posting about the series, the more beneficial it is to everyone, so please post up on the good, the bad and the awful; We are all in this together! (no hiding lurkers) We will have a new show selected to watch every two/three weeks and the genre will vary greatly. The shows that will be selected will have met the below criteria:

- Any genre
- Lesser known titles (Not SAO, One Piece, Gintama, etc)
- Not already aired on Toonami/Adult Swim
- The shows should try to avoid outrageous and/or sexually offensive themes
- Shows could be good, bad or possibly trash; let's find out together
- Recommendations are always accepted for future viewing
- Let's have FUN with this together! Please participate in the review and discussion!

*Required ToS Footnote and reminder*
Please see the warning on page 1 of the Anime OT, that still applies here. It's simple; Don't talk about it or promote it...

Mod Note:
This has been happening frequently enough lately that I just wanted to throw out a friendly reminder: solicitation, discussion, and linking of pirated material is prohibited. This includes illegal streams, torrents, aggregators, fansub & sub group discussion, links to websites containing entire anime soundtrack albums magically for free, etc. Use common sense here. Discussion of legal, ethical, and economic implications of piracy is okay.

Basically, the section on piracy & copyrighted material in the Terms of Service applies to anime as well.

That last GIF is a HUGE spoiler
which gives away one of the best twists in the show (which is probably the reason it was so highly suggested)

And part of the synopsis as well. it's better to go into the show without THAT part being spoiled

Too bad I already know some things I didn't really want to know about this show, well, can't do anything about it I guess

Interested in this anyway, looking forward to the
controversial episode 7

I changed the gif, so there is no possible spoilers there.

Found a few others in the process. The only problem with searching for images is that you always run into spoiler images, dammit...

I'm down for this. I stopped at episode 14 or 15 a long time ago, but wouldn't mind getting back in. I loved the first half, but there's a weird tonal shift in the latter episodes.

Watched EP1 during one of my random CR dinners, so I guess I'll hop in once the thread moves on to EP2.

By the way, how are we supposed to split 24 eps in 21 days?

This one is 22 episodes, but Blast of Tempest is nest and we'll front load 2 episodes and back load 2 episodes, then add 1 extra each weekend. That should work.

Probably could, just thinking out load to keep it to exactly three weeks. We'll figure t out by the end of these three weeks.

If you really want to keep it three weeks it would be best to do the "double" episode at the start, that way we can get through the introduction part sooner and people who won't be able to watch two episodes a day can at least try to catch up with us.

if you're going to do it at the end the people who can't watch two episodes at that very last day won't be able to join in on our hype reaction posts, alienating them for a seemingly arbitrary reason (keeping it 21 days long)

Idunno if this makes sense lol.

I remember loving this show until
they introduced the power rangers bad guys. Guillotine Gorilla or something
. I still stuck with the show til the end, but it never picked up until the final arc about the
the little boy and the cop

No, your on point. I'll probably just let it ride out and take a few days breaks in between, so we always start on a Monday night/Tuesday morning.

I'd say starting each show on Monday morning would be best, and maybe we could fit some standalone stories, movies or miniseries in between each large show.

Fitting in some movies would be nice, although they'll be harder to find on legal services like Crunchyroll.

Anyhow, Inferno Cop, Redline (Americans can watch this on Youtube right?) and a handful of Animator Expo shorts definitely deserve a spotlight.

CR has a couple one-shot things, but I guess they're all pretty high-profile, yeah. I still have a couple things left on my queue from that Satoshi Kon weekend they held a while ago, but now they're back to being region locked. Too bad my cousin's ISP apparently doesn't like the VPN I was using for CR...

What high profile ones? Maybe my region features different stuff but could you name them for me?

Anyhow I browsed Crunchyroll and found these movies/shorter shows that interested me:

1) http://www.crunchyroll.com/break-ups (Cool artstyle)
2) http://www.crunchyroll.com/demian (Anime Pacific Rim or something)
3) http://www.crunchyroll.com/dororo-motion-magazine (I guess this could be interesting to some people)
4) http://www.crunchyroll.com/la-maison-en-petits-cubes (Seems to have won an oscar, that has to be interesting right?)
5) http://www.crunchyroll.com/pes-peace-eco-smile (super colourful anime Captain Planet, combined with Toyata commercials, seems cool)
6) http://www.crunchyroll.com/traveling-daru (cute)

have no idea about any of them, can anyone vouch for one of these anime?

Lots of Makoto Shinkai's works were made available in my region for a weekend, but then taken down after that.

I can watch them all in my region (LatAm). Already watched La Maison en Petits Cubes, and I'd say it was really nice.

I didn't know what to expect when I started this but it was one of the most unforgettable anime I've watched. Make sure you SIT DOWN and watch this one if you haven't.

I'm also in for this one, as always. I expect greatness.....or at least something better than Sunday Without a God.

Episode 1

Good start I guess, it's not as good as the first part of Kick-ass but I'll take what I can get.

Patiently waiting for the time where batman MC loses his complete jobber status. I hope we'll see a training montage or something.

Seigi no Mikata wannabe eh. Main lead is an idiot without doubt. Hoping Sugita´s character will show him how naive he is.

Episode 1

Decided to get in on that because I've been forgetting Japanese, haven't listened to anything in more than a year.

The first episode was alright, I guess. I'd grown tired of what seems to be the prevalent launching into either ridiculous worlds or one quirk over the top characters, but it might be more bearable if it's just a comedy.

Well, that is one way to introduce the MC and his "bro", lol. That swift kick by the fatty at the end was hilarious; he just drops the pipe and kicks him in the head instead.... then you get the early bromance moment:

Episode 1

And so it begins....

So many giffable moments here, especially Gotou's reactions to Masayoshi's
let's face it
batshit insane philosophy. But then again, who else would dress up to fight petty criminals at night?

I love this "real superheroes" situation.
