Do you earn income on the side? If so, what do you do?

I just finished replying to everyone, both those that asked me to message them in this thread and to those that sent me a PM.
I'd be interested in a copy of the PM too if you don't mind. Can't hurt to earn some extra alongside YouTube.

I don't currently have a job, but I used to write for money. Did a few alternate reality games for around 2 grand total over the course of three years.

Hoping to start selling paintings soon.

I really need to figure this ebay stuff out.

Anytime I go to goodwill, I just don't see anything worth flipping. There's a couple of estate sales coming up, so I guess I'm gonna try going to those and see what I can find. I'm still in the dark though on what does or does not sell. Most stuff I see looks like I would get $3 or $5 at most for each item.

It's frustrating.

I'm UK based so my side earner is Matched Betting which brings in between 500-1000 a month. Also this month just got into Forex Trading as a complete beginner and I'm 300 up already hands free just connecting my account to a master trader. Pretty Exciting.

Want to eventually resume work on my Youtube Channel once I find the motivation again and build up a fan base but it's a lot of hard work.

Neat! My uncle does this and it always seemed both very niche and yet always in demand. Have you tried your hand at video game music yet?

Video games are actually where I initially hoped to end up working. I've worked on a few little indie games, but it's REALLY hard for me to get into contact with devs who actually have money to pay. The library work is just a little easier to handle for me. Builds up a stream of passive royalties over time, and I almost never have to worry about contracts and other legal stuff because the libraries acts as publishers and handle that stuff for me. They also find the work!

I'm a writer by trade, so I do freelance writing on the side whenever I can find projects

I'd like to put in more time than I do, but actually finding projects is tough work

Does investing count? If so, investing in the stock market.

I also started crowdlending. Gotta start to explore the new economy!

I have a YouTube channel I barely touch that generates some money on the side. Just enough to pay for a game or two each month.

I do freelance character design and illustrations on the side, but that's also my day job in an animation studio.

Downhome you might wanna consider making a separate thread or even OT about eBay flipping at this rate xD

I have considered it in the past, I know I'm not the only one here that does this. There didn't seem to be interest in the past, and there have been times folks have flamed me for bringing it up in the first place. Saying it was a scam, not real work of any sort, and some folks being mad saying it was taking advantage of folks. I disagree on all of it, but I didn't want to open that can of worms. I'd consider it if that would be kept out of it though.

I think I've messaged all who asked. If I haven't, sent me a PM and I will. Good luck everyone.

I think it sucks that so many folks NEED a side job in the first place. It really shouldn't be like that. Luckily though I do love doing eBay. It's like a constant treasure hunt, haha.

Besides overtime in my current job, I do transit traffic analysis for future lrt/metro systems and I teach sometimes aerospace engineering.

Thought so. So expensive to live there. Nice find.

It's crazy how fast that area blew up. Everyone out of college and young professionals all seem to be moving that way. I definitely lucked out though finding my place, paid 155k for the house and it's just a few minutes drive to downtown RO and right near Beaumont.

Every now and then Ill sell a hip hop instrumental I made, but its not common enough to amount to much. Still a great feeling whenever it happens though.

i may have a vague idea about what this is but shit i'm curious, could you shoot another PM?

i write erotica trash in my own language, i make something like 100€ x month

I've been messing around with writing up some summaries, a few chapters here and there, intending to get around to finally publishing some word porn. If I can make some game money with smut that'd be great.

And don't let H. Pro fool you, she's amazing. She did my avatar hehe.

She's also the reason I started painting to begin with.

Started doing the eBay thing as well. Kinda got out of it the past couple of months. My problem is not knowing how much to charge for shipping. But still a great way to make a few extra bucks.

I tutor/teach disabled children on weekend afternoons. Local library or school board can get you setup. A crazy demand that I can't keep up with and know is constantly sought after.

Just once a month for an art class, so not too big a deal :p

I'm currently reworking my portfolio then gonna get back into freelance concept art this fall.

I'm currently on a much better paying (and time demanding) job.. So I've stopped doing it, but I used to do Leapforce every night.

It was easy, simple and netted me a very nice extra income in the end of the month.

I teach chemistry labs as an adjunct professor one night a week during spring and fall semesters. Labs are 3 hours plus the grading which isn't too bad. It's my undergrad alma mater and only a few miles from my normal job.

eBay.

Over the last year or two I have been slowly going through my storage and selling off items that have been just collecting dust. Started off with my record collection which was probably the most profitable out of any type of items (some records that were only sold on RSD sold for 6-7x original cost), but the majority of my sales are video game-related.

I took very good care of all my game stuff over the years, complete in box with little to no damage to anything. Had about a dozen N64 games sell anywhere from $25 (California Speed) to $125 (Conker's Bad Fur Day), some SNES and PS1 games too, but I have to say the two items that were the most surprising that sold so far are a pair of N64 dog tags that I do not even remember acquiring ($25), and the original box for a PS2 ($20).

For the solidworks designers doing projects on the side, do you own solidworks?
I've had a design role before and find drafting fairly easy, but to have your own license is expensive.
