Got my first Platinum trophy on Vita, yay
Congrats. What game? =D
Got my first Platinum trophy on Vita, yay
Nothing? I've played physical copies of Uncharted and Lumines, and I downloaded the Netflix and LiveTweet apps. And 8 jpeg files for backgrounds.
That's it. I think? Where is the utility that lets me see what is on the memory card?
EDIT: Wow, so PSA everyone: even if you delete something from your springboard with a tap and hold, the data is STILL on your Vita until you pull up the downloads button and click the trashcan in the top left corner. I had "deleted" the Unit 13 demo but it was still on my Vita until I cleared the data. Wowowow that is fucking stupid.
I don't understand how Sony didn't add a select/delete all option in the Messages app
Did you pause the Unit 13 demo download half way ? Perhaps a staging copy was in your download folder and the unit crashed or something ?
Uses twitter.com instead of letting you choose twitpic/yfrog/lockerz/etc.
Also would be neat if I could tie my bit.ly account. I'm being really picky though, most people wont care
And Near...I had maybe 15 people on first night? Now it's 214.
I question its accuracy though. I used it at 3 in the morning yesterday, and then again at 4 hours later and it found 12 more people. How the hell did it find new people in that early in the day?
Near doesn't work at all for me. A buddy and I tried it with our vitas while standing right next to each other even.
I just realized Facebook app on PS Vita allows News Feed scroll up and down and photos zoomed in using back touch. A nice touch indeed
I didn't, and when I deleted the notifications it cleared up two gigabytes of space on my Vita, so IDK what the deal is with you guys saying it's just notifications. Those are some pretty f***ing massive notifications if so.
Got my copy of Shinobido 2 today. I did play it for a little bit, completing some training and 4 or 5 missions and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The graphics looked clean and nice (especially during the cutscenes) and doing ninja stuff was pretty fun.
Skimming a couple of posts about it I was scared I had actually purchased a dud, but it seems I didn't, at least not as far as I'm concerned anyways (though the game could still become disappointing later on).

Downloaded games are installed automatically when you go back to the home screen. When installation of a game is complete, the game icon appears on the home screen.
Tap the notification indicator and view the notification to determine whether a game was installed successfully.
To retry the installation of a game that was not successful, tap the notification about the failed installation in the notification list.
Well, I just accidentally won an ebay auction for a wifi Vita, so I guess I'm in. Can't wait for Ridge Racer with all the DLC (yes, I know).
You should backup your card to your PC or PS3 and then copy that over to your new card.
Mutant Blobs is absolutely fantastic. Anyone having trouble choosing a game off PSN, look no further.
I understand the frustration but it is what it is. You think the expanded 360 HD was really worth over a $100 bucks when you could get something double that size and quality for half the price? I can tell you this though I was annoyed as hell when I had to throw down extra cash for a card cause the system wouldn't work without it but in the days and week since it hasn't crossed my mind once. The system is just so dang fantastic in every other area. Just grab a $5 dollar 4GB card they are super cheap on ebay right now.
Buy it! Best platformer I have played in years and if you think the demo looks good you haven't seen anything.
I'm curious - but have you ever bought a device with built-in flash before - like iPad, iPod, or one of the smartphones that don't use SDs?
Sure there are cards cheaper then Vita cards - but Flash memory charges in built-in devices are up to 2x higher then what Sony charges for their cards, it's hardly on the high-end of Flash pricing.
The Sony developers cited 2 reasons for the proprietary memory card:
* Security
* Consistent performance
They also help Sony keep the base unit cost low, while Sony earn from people who can afford higher capacity.
That's all we know so far.
If you wanted to get a Vita, you could do what I did and just get a 4gb card, and wait for the price to drop/get faster data speeds on the cards before you buy another. I'm just waiting for either a sale or a price drop because the price is ridiculous.
My frustration has nothing to do with the vita, but rather the attitudes and lack of reading comprehension of some of the members here. I'd elaborate but I'd probably get banned. KMT.
Moving on...This IS a issue that I guess can be fixed at a later date. If I recall correctly the early memory stick duos were slow as shit too. Like I said, I have no problem buying overpriced cards, long as they are at least high quality performance wise. The evidence seems anecdotal so far so I'll wait until a definitive answer arrives and make my final decision then. Thank you for replying with a bit of thought, it is much appreciated.
I got to play one in Target.
First off: holy cow the screen is gorgeous.
Tried Wipeout. The game loaded super slow, and kept having me touch the screen to go through screens to start.
Aaand..the shoulder buttons felt funny. But the grippy analogs felt nice.
Any details on how people are supposedly testing this?Stephen Colbert said:How fast are the vita memory cards?

I just bought a 32gb class 10 card for 12 pounds. If sony are honestly saying that I have to pay 5 pound more for a card that is 8 times smaller and runs at half the speed, they can seriously go fuck themselves.
Just making sure,
I can download Metal Gear: Peace Walker on my PS3 and download it to the Vita directly. Nothing else needed? I may be wrong but I looked on the PS store and didn't see it in the compatibility list although the list looked bigger than what is currently offered on the Vita's store.

The only user-facing speed test I've been able to do is via USB transfers which is testing USB interface, not the cards(on PSPGo, the USB was 4-6MB, which was 3-4x slower then the actual PSPGo Flash-memory speeds - the real numbers were testable thanks to custom Firmware).
According to CAG, next week's TRU sale:
Buy 1 Get 1 50% OFF ALL DS, 3DS & PS Vita Video Games
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=316503
Unit 13 & Rayman, I'm looking at you.
the 3G model still confuses me. Just for casual use, not good for competitive..so casual only, right?
Consistent performance is not necessarily high speed though is it? I kinda have trouble believing that the vita cards are any more consistent than high performance Sandisk cards that are used for HD capture and the like.

I really think this is moving off topic of the current discussion anyway. Im going to shut up now. Enjoy your systems guys. Hopefully I will be more willing to join you once this is cleared up somewhat.

It's only an issue if you make it an issue. You should just say you don't want the system and that you're looking for a reason to not purchase it - and move on. Beating around the bush about bullshit write speeds and memory card quality is a lame way to say you don't consider the system/cards worth the current asking price. You pay to play. And the current buy in price is a premium. However, if you ask anyone in here who owns the system, and have put in a few hours with the top games, you'd see that everyone considers it money well spent. What the fuck else do you need to hear?
Looking for some Japan gaming goodness, I bought it after a few here suggested it. I don't know, maybe it's too early for me to make a call but it starts off slow.
The neat thing is that combat can, in of itself, work as a puzzle and the way it does so is unique, actually. Aesthetically, it is a tad boring as taxtures are repeated in each chapter.
All you're doing is moving room to room to wipe out enemies. When you run low on health, you transfer your soul to another soldier and take over their body thus regenerating your health. you can also use this "soul transfer" to attack enemies head on when prompted. At times, you can only weaken an enemy when this prompt appears for you to attack so part of the puzzle is how to get the prompt to show. That part is good, I must say.
Yeah, fuck it. I've played worse games and as far as psp games go, it is unique if a tad slow and challenging at first.

If I was just looking for a reason not to buy, I wouldn't have spent the last hour discussing it here. I actually have better things to do with my time.
Ancedotal recommendations mean little. I know what I want and how much I'm willing to pay for it. Whether you or anyone else feels different is meaningless to me.

I adore the full game of Modnation. What's wrong with the demo?
