I'm wondering is it possible in this sort of cases for the man to sue the club or the "victim"? People seem to sue companies and each other successfully over much more trivial matter these days.

I also know someone that is directly responsible for getting 3 different clubs shut down.

The 1st & 3rd ones just lost their liquor license and the 2nd one has been shut down since Valentines day of almost 2 years ago.

He (30something) was a bouncer at all 3 at 3 different times and he always had some crew of under 21 year olds that he would let in the club. I have no real problem with that, but that crew of under 21 girls would always have a friend or 2 that were still in HS and in no way looked old enough to be in there.

I stopped kickin it with him while he worked at the 1st club partially because of that reason. He would bring them to the after parties and act like he was BOSS because he brought the (jailbait) girls through. I haven't talked to him in over 2 years, but last I heard he was moving in with his GF who had just graduated HS and recently turned 18(this was over 2 years ago).

My best friend is trying to be a high school art teacher. He has girls hit on him all the time. While talking to a girl about her day and the project she was working on. She randomly asked if he wanted to see her underwear. He just turned around and went to the other side of the room and talk to those kids.

A couple girls, would often sit spread eagle under the desk facing him, but he cant mention it to anybody at school for risk of being a perv even if the girls are being disrespectful.

to clarify, he subs at the school now 3-4 days a week.

Yup. Any decent looking PE, art or music teacher is catnip for female h-schoolers. While teacher-pupil flings are always a bad idea and should be frowned upon, some girls straight up harass their male teachers.

So no, it's not a black and white thing outside of the legal realm.

Going easy on her just promotes the message that men can't be raped while women can, and that women don't really enjoy sex.

Except it doesn't sound like rape going by the article.

When I was in 9th grade, I had an english teacher that was super lax and pretty much just let the class hang out for a good chunk of the period. I remember one day there were some girls messing around on his computer and one started asking him if they could look at porn. She wasn't joking and after he said no she kept asking a couple more times with this really naughty/sexy look on her face.

Well, do you think there's absolutely no difference between how a 16 year old girl and 16 year old guy think about sex.

I'm putting a theory out there that a 16 year old guy would probably fuck anything that was made available to him and enjoy it; probably not quite the same with a 16 year old girl.

I'm just saying that it's probably a helluva lot more likely that a young girl would need to be coerced or forced into sex when compared to a young boy. I am not saying that 16 year old boys cannot be raped or anything, just that it's a lot less likely that they wouldn't want to have sex.

So, there sure as heck is a double standard, but genders are different so it sort of makes sense.

GAF trying to pull the old biological determinism argument... bail out.

1 - a 16 year old absolutely has the ability to consent to sex. America's "anything under 18 = minor" law is fucking backwards and not representative of adolescent development at all.
2 - There is no differences between the sexes regarding this. You have been brainwashed by media, your parents or both. All the 16 year old girls I knew when I was of a similar age were horny as fuck and - like the guys - came in both the indiscriminate fuck-anything-that-moves and only-if-it's-love variety.

You are a sexist for believing girls aren't capable of enjoying sex as much as boys. Go out into the real world and correct yourself.

And it's like 14 or something in Japan. what's your point?
The terms 'statutory rape' and 'rape' have very different meanings, especially when involving individuals who anyone with half a brain could surmise would be able to consent to their own sexual activity. Do not use one term instead of the other.

I'm asking seriously here, is this true in the US?
It's also creation and distribution of child pornography in the USA if a couple under the age of 18 take photos of each other. No joke.

Yes. It is illegal in the US to have sex with someone under the age of consent (with very limited exceptions that don't apply to this case.)

Yeah, I get that it is illegal. But he was talking about rape. I was wondering if having sex with someone under the age of consent automatically qualifies as rape.

This is so true. There was this girl in my high school that literally stalked my History teacher because he was hot. Its a shame because he was a cool guy and he didnt want that attention.

Rape? Yeah. Rape-rape? Nah.

I think there's probably an age that it's rape-rape no matter what though. If someone has sex with a 10 year old I don't think they BS around with statutory rape.

This sounds suspiciously like "well, it's not rape rape."

The point is, it's rape when you have sex with somebody who does not or cannot consent. Legally speaking, this person could not consent, therefore it is rape. Furthermore, the term "statutory rape" isn't even used in the language of most criminal statutes.

Why 10? why not 11? Why not 9?

I know of someone that that happened to. They even had an ID scanner at the door and I'm pretty sure she bought him a drink or 2. It's really fucked up.

He met her inside on the dance floor. took her home. fucked over (by her parents?) a few weeks later.

Last year, I was 21, on campus my friend was dancing with someone he remembered from high school and I ended up talking/dancing with her friend she brought along.

I go to get a drink and all my friend rush to me at the counter and ask me what I'm doing.. and I'm like, 'doing what?'. Turns out the bitch brought a 16 yo fucking girl to a bar/club. Later that night I see the high school girl fucking puking everywhere.

It's the underage kids fault. TBH, I would feel horrible if I was their parents. Mostly for raising a retarded child then acting all mad and trying to ruin another persons life for the stupid shit their child does because they couldn't supervise their 16 yo fucking child at night.

Yes, it's called statutory rape. Rape is having sex without the partner's consent. In the US, people under the age of consent are not legally able to give their consent for sexual relations, thus having sex with those under the age of consent is rape. I would imagine the same general legal underpinning is the basis for other "don't have sex with kids" laws throughout the world, although they may use different terms.

The distinction is made at 14 in the US. It's called lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. Or at least in California it is.

Oh, I see. I've never heard statutory rape before. It was just a misunderstanding. We use another word here, which has nothing to do with rape.

Kids are retarded by default at that age. Parenting may help with the symptoms, but even good progenitors can only do so much.

Which is exactly why age of consent laws exist.

I don't think 16 yo girls (nor boys) need more legal protections than adults when it comes to rape. They know what they are doing, they just can't picture the consequences of their acts. Not unlike many adults.

With that said, I wouldn't even think about boning a girl below 20. I'd feel like a lecherous old man.
