Not too bad, I mean at least it isn't like TF2.

edit: Also would have bought it myself was so tempted but my 670 is showing it's age, so I didn't think I would be able to run it well.

Stop It

Perfectly able to grasp the inherent value of the fishing game.
The UK market really is all sorts of fucked up right now.

Aside from the rise of digital and the usual FIFA/COD buying, I honestly think the market peaked with the 360 and PS3 and really hasn't took to the PS4 or Xbox One in the same way.

Of course supermarkets giving less retail space and the death of every specialist retailer but a smaller GAME Group hasn't helped.

Nearly every major sequel has been pulling lower figures here and it's becoming a little depressing.

Its a very good game (on console). It deserves to be a success (on console). But without digital sales that number means nothing.

Loved the first one, but won't be buying this until they fix the PC version.

Doesn't matter how good the game is if the performance sucks and leaves it nigh unplayable.

It plays like shit on console. So much input lag / weighted camera panning.

For a game that requires some finesse, I can't bring myself to play anymore.

But since digital sales account for around 30% of the full sales, if we combine digital sales aren't the sales pretty much the same? Since back when the original was released digital sales weren't as high as today.

All sequels are underperforming this year?

Ratchet did amazing. And I thought Battlefield 1 did very well. CoD is tired.

I think Dishonored is simply releasing at the wrong time.
Bethesda's review copy decision in action. Amazing game. Bethesda fucked it.
Yeah I think the reviews would have caused some hype leading up to the release. As it stands, without any reviews until day after release, many people didn't even know it had released (including me).

Is it any different in the US this year though? Sequels are down there and hardware is also down. I think we just have to wake up to the fact that our hobby isn't as big as it used to be. Kids are growing up on smartphones and tablets now.

A shame as I hear the game is really good.

Still, 4th isn't that bad for a single player game, considering the first 3 are some of the best selling franchises on the market.

Have to disagree here. Friction option down to zero, plays great on Xbox One.

I've had zero tech issues, game looks and plays great, and so far I think it's a big step up from the original.

It's going to suck if that becomes the norm.
Well it's not just ohh base model ps4 is shit it's running shit on PC and other consoles. Timing of this release is wrong feels like it's getting lost amount the big holiday sellers, this is perfect late spring summer dull period release. Man the industry as a whole needs to sort its shit out with release windows, they need to be more smart about these things, instead oh it's done ship it regardless method we have now.

Deus Ex was released in August and the game still bombed.

Dishonored launched on a Tuesday so it had a couple more days on sale, doesn't seem too bad overall.

All sequels are underperforming this year?

Uncharted, Mafia, Dark Souls were all up a good chunk on previous entries so who knows.

Don't underestimate the effect of Brexit on the UK sales, sterling went to poop, folks are more cautious with their pennies just now.
Nah brexit is overblown ATM, we haven't seen the reaction yet it hasn't hit everyday life yet so I can't see how it's effecting gaming just yet.

Wasn't it due to bad press, that game got delayed and had the whole shitstorm of preorder bullshit. I'm betting d2 would've done better out of the holiday season where everyone is buying shooters sports titles etc.

It's the UK. Digital here is ludicrously expensive.

Yes, but discounts for online credit and the XBox VIP rebate helps. I got it digital for 24% off combined so not bad.

The point about the stats being meaningless without digital sales is a little difficult to understand.

You need to guess at console/PC split and then know how much the first instalment sold digitally to compare.

My guess is that the drop is not attributable to digital sales in large part and the game sold "less" overall than the first.

But the original would have had digital sales too not counted here (sure perhaps not as strong) so adding in 30% here but nothing on the original wouldn't be fair for various reasons. You can only really go off the like for like numbers at hand.

And it's down.

Digital sales of a single-player only title aren't likely to be that high. The article explains the title is down.

The first Dishonored launched all by itself, had fantastic marketing and received very positive reviews. Dishonored 2 launched in the middle of a crowded market, people knew what kind of game it was and whether they would enjoy it given the first one, and it had no reviews. I'm surprised it held up as well as it did.

I sincerely doubt it. PC has issues too. It's just an optimisation issue.

A 9.3? Wow. Bethesda really fucked it.

I think people are overestimating the impact of positive review scores. In pretty sure Bethesda's whole rationale re the review thing was positive review scores have little to no impact on sales whilst negative do.

I personally (am in the UK) haven't bought the game because of bad PC performance.

Wait until Pokemon comes out before you say that.
