It is definitely a Call of Duty December, as Activision’s ‘Infinite Warfare’ takes a third consecutive week back at No1.

Having taken the Xmas No1 spot last week and now the penultimate chart of the year, it looks like the current Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will take the last No1 spot of the year, much like the previous two Call of Duty Xmas No1’s (‘Advanced Warfare’ was Xmas and end of year No1 in 2014 and ‘Black Ops III’ did the same in 2015). EA’s ‘FIFA 17’ remains at No2 for a third consecutive week, EA’s‘Battlefield 1’ also remains in third spot and Ubisoft’s ‘Watch Dogs 2’ remains at No4 for a second week in a row. Rockstar/Take 2’s ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ continues at No5, having broken back in to the Top 10 last week. 2K/Take 2 also climb 4 places to take No6 this week with ‘Mafia III’ and Ubisoft’s ‘Steep’ is gathering momentum as it climbs for a third week running to a high of No7.

Good thing to see TLG and Rocket League still there, but wait; FF15 on XBO is not even charting in the Top 40? Ouch :/

Nope:

"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will take the last No1 spot of the year"

It'll be the No1 for the last week of the year.

still surprises me, that people are still surprised by this
xbox audience was never the JRPG audience and will never be the JRPG audience
and no, the souls series is no JRPG, i would call them WRPGs from Japan

i look forward to the yearly chart.
with no more weekly % drop or increase, the yearly chart is the only one telling a decent story now

That makes sense... well weird way to write a news with No1 repeated 5 times in a phase lol

Didn't play Forza Horizon 3 but from what I've seen and heard these sales are completely deserved. Is it going to sell bigger than GoW4? because that would be insane.

in the uk, yes

forza horizon 3 sales this year are 13 weeks total
gears of war 4 sales this year are 11 weeks total and the game was ahead of FH3 just 3 weeks of the year (41 - 43)

gears of war 4 opened with sales between 55k and 105k units
forza horizon 3 opened with sales between 56k and 78k units

I think in the UK and mainland Europe that's a distinct possibility but I'm not too sure about North America and what the difference there would be either way?

I can see FH3 continuing to chart for a long long time here in the UK and as you say in your post, it is fully deserved and the game is in my top 3 of the year.

Seriously.

The Xbox userbase doesn't support these kinds of games. Period.

Thats when I laugh when people say "But XBOX sold 20 million! Thats 20 million customers right there!" as if its that black and white.

Might want to look at the price at which both of those are selling.

I would hope DR4 goes up after having a third of its price slashed.

I checked three of the biggest places (Amazon,Tesco and GAME) where people would buy games from and got these price results:

The Last Guardian
Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ZG1RYQ6/
Tesco: http://www.tesco.com/direct/the-last-guardian-ps4/231-0888.prd?pageLevel=&source=others
GAME: http://www.game.co.uk/en/the-last-guardian-647766

Dead Rising 4
Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01GVMVZ9U/
Tesco: http://www.tesco.com/direct/dead-rising-4-xbox-one/632-1158.prd?skuId=632-1158
GAME: http://www.game.co.uk/en/dead-rising-4-1330061

Both got some cuts, I don't know why you are acting like TLG was selling at full price.

Gears is more popular in North America yeah. UK is more Halo fan also compared to Gears.
And driving games is pretty popular in UK/EU. Its not dying there at all really.
The game probably does very good also in Australia is my guess.

When did those TLG cuts occur? The DR4 cuts occurred a while ago.

Not surprised, they're practically giving COD away at this point. £20 for COD from GAME of all places within 2 months? I think the lowest BF has been is about £30.

Nothing against it, I think it's smart, but it's just surprising to see CoD's price plummet so fast.

Previous call of duty games hold their price surprisingly well until a new iteration, this year however is ridiculous.....

Down to £20 before the year is out, Activision cannot be happy.

It was full price most of last week, unlike DR4 which got cut quicker. TLG was cut Christmas Eve going by Hot UK Deals and our Cheap Arse Gaffer thread.

Tlg just got cut in the last few days, dead rising was half price a week after launch I know as I bought it when it dropped to £25.

I tried to use way-back machine to see when the price cuts occur but no luck. I also wouldn't use CAG as back up considering a person could be off by a few days.

I know that TLG has held its value for a long time, I just don't know when it decreased.

UK and Germany for sure.
France i don't know. maybe not.
US and Americas definitely not.
Gears of War 4 is already the best selling Xbox (exlusive?!) Game in Mexico ever

Gears of War was always huge on Mexico, I have no doubts that it sky rocketed Xbox One sales.

Good for Watch Dogs 2. Ubi were totally right to say it will come back. I'm sure word is spreading it's worth checking out.

I wonder if UK FH3 sales are the best single market beating US total sales. Confident it's beaten everywhere else but US does have a big numbers advantage, maybe very close?
