$60 for just single player-no. It's really really short, but also amazing. Just rent it if you have no intentions of ever playing online since you could easily beat it in a few nights.

This reminds me of Game Informer's apparent policy to not be controversial by giving every big name game this year a 9.75.

This is a joke.

I'm not out on some personal vendetta against COD4 as I'm sure the game's great (according to the critics at least), but what's the point of having a console-specific award if a multiplatform game nabs it...three times for that matter.

It wasn't a jab at sony, I own a ps3. I was saying that Ratchet/Uncharted are far better choices for PS3 GotY...Chill out.

They have top 10 lists for each platform as their awards (for every platform but the GBA, which just has one game awarded). Just because #1 is the same on all three platforms it was released on you think they should get rid of everything? The rest of the lists aren't identical...

The first post just only listed the #1 titles for each platform. There are more. For instance, in the Wii list Fire Emblem is #4. :)

i'm sorry, COD4 is a really good game, but its not the best game to come out for the PS3, X360, AND PC this year. It just isn't

I flipped through their Top 10 PC games and while I don't agree 100% with it, it's not a terrible list. Certainly better than I normally expect from Gamespy.

But yeah...That COD4 list...Um...I mean GOTY list seems kinds silly.

Well, CoD4 isn't necessarily GotY. I mean, it probably will, but it still has to beat SMG. And who knows? Maybe CoD4 only won those three categories because SMG wasn't competing with it? :D

This is just my personal preference, but I kinda hate to see remakes winning GOTY awards. FFT might be my favorite game ever, but I still would rather see something new like Jeanne D'Arc or Syphon Filter win for PSP. Same with Final Fantasy IV for GBA.

Not that I don't disagree with this, but what's your angle here? That Orange Box / variety of other PC games are better, is what I'm taking.

Not really. It's a pretty generic SP with a lot of crappy stuff/levels and a few good ones. The game is really just a MP game with SP tacked on.
