It's that time of year again, GAF-Hop presents Hip Hop Awards 2011. The way it works is you get to vote for up to 10 AOTY nominees, and 10 SOTY nominees. For all other catergories only your top pick is counted, feel free to post a few more but the first listed is what will be counted.

Everybody is welcome and encouraged to explain their decisions and discussion is wanted.

You do not have to have 10 AOTY nominees, or vote for all the categories. Just vote on what you feel like and those will be counted.

What can be voted for as Hip Hop? Well, I'm not planning on putting any official rules in, so vote for what you feel while being reasonable.

Voting ends and votes will be counted on the 15th January and you can change your votes up until that date. Just try edit your original post instead of having multiple voting posts.

Don't forget to check out the 2011 notable releases list over at the GAF-Hop OT!

Special thanks to Kamspy and HiResDes for ideas and suggestions to help put this together.

Point System - The voting system this year will be similar to the GOTY threads over on the gaming side. So

1. Album A ; 4 points
2. Album B ; 3 points
3. Album C ; 3 points
4. Album D ; 2 points
5. Album E ; 2 points
6. Album F ; 2 points
7. Album G ; 1 point
8. Album H ; 1 point
9. Album I ; 1 point
10. Album J ; 1 point

This also applies to song of the year. The album with the most points at the end is AOTY 2011.

It's an abusive relationship :( Plus, that's not my final list by any means, just what I threw together as an example.

We may not all agree on the AOTY, but we do all agree that Birdman would have taken it had he made it in time, right?

See, my top 3 albums for the year are Frank Ocean, Weeknd HoB and Cocaine 80s. But I'm gonna list albums that are (mostly) rap.

The Weeknd would take up my 'all around AOTY list' 1 & 2--Thursday to HOB. I dug them that much.

my bad - mine was The Pursuit. Ghost Lady had a few tracks too, but none that stuck me with me as much. both good albums, both examples of shit that i think would be great on the radio but never make it there.

shinobis should be here by tomorrow, man...you ain't gotta be that guy.

Shinobi takes it further. If it has raps but has a slight influence from another genre, it aint hip-hop. To him, Drake is hip-hop, but The Roots are not. Mind is full of fuck regarding that.
