Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’ climbs one place to No2 (+19%) and Ubisoft drop one place to No3 with ‘Just Dance 3’ (+7%). EA climb 2 places to No4 with ‘Battlefield 3’ (+42%) and Ubisoft also climb 2 places to No5 with ‘Assassin’s Creed: Revelations’ (+26%). THQ’s ‘Saints Row: The Third’ continues to perform well, down just one place to No6 (+18%). EA’s ‘Need for Speed: The Run’ climbs 2 places to No7 (+62%) and Bethesda’s Xmas Chart No1, ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ drops all the way from No1 to No8 (-42%). Sega hang on to a Top 10 positioning with ‘Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games’ down 1 place to No9 (+35%) and we even have a Top 10 new release for week 51 – EA’s PC ‘Star Wars: The Old Republic’ debuts here at No10 having launched on Tuesday 20th December.

3DS software doing pretty bad compared to the US and Japan and only two DS games in the top 40.

Question for people that live there, is handheld gaming dead in the UK or is everyone just pirating DS/PSP games?

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
I just think we should have numbers. Eh, I've still to extrapolate the ones for last week, and then this week :(

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Price dumping on console titles makes them cheaper them cheaper than MK7 and 3D Land + 3DS is still the platform with by far smallest user base. It will take at least another year and the Layton title next year to change that.

Does anyone know sales numbers for Go Vacation? Wanted to buy it sister-in-lay for christmas and it was nowhere to be found (at least Amazon had it on stock).

18th on the Wii full price chart so it's likely that the sales are small.

Edit- Wii Party is 8th on the same chart and comes in last on the top 40 list.

Handheld games are too expensive.

Everyone and his mom is importing games from UK - i dont know if those online retailers sales are included in the charts, but this would also explain the dominance of console titles.

You are not the target audience. I used to work at a youth club and 11-12-13 year old girls love Just Dance games.

I played it on a Kinect if that makes a difference, it was tracking A HAND and sometimes ARMS... it's probably more fun on a Wii, I guess.

Nothing on Dance Central (which I love).

I have Just Dance 1 and 2 for the Wii and Just Dance 3 for the 360 and Just Dance 3 just isn't as much fun as the other two (as far as my household is concerned). I have to say that I was already hesitant to grab the title because the Michael Jackson Experience (360) was quickly relegated to the bottom of our games basket only to make an appearance for the singing portions. Dance Central 1 and 2 get much more playtime than either of the Just Dance titles but we still actually like JD1/2.

Yeah Dance Central is the better dance game imo. Just Dance is very basic but maybe that's why it sells so much?

Not much full body movement is needed to enjoy yourself.

These charts keep reminding me why Ubisoft likes Nintendo so much. A dance shovelware game with the Wii U tablet might be hard to pull off though.

I would love to hear your explanation, then. It's barely a game so much as a DVD.

I rarely agree with Jelly but yeah Just Dance is absolute garbage. I played it for the first time this weekend. If I was a developer on this game I would be laughing my ass off all the way to the bank.

Handheld games are too expensive.

Indeed. As I've posited before, the MK Wii pack is being pushed heavily at just £99.99 which is good for the whole family - particularly at Xmas time.

As I've also posited before, with those prices, it's a repeat of the PSP software situation of yesteryear with titles entering the charts and rapidly dropping as the core fans have their fill.

Also, do not forget how the economy is in the most dire straits for many a generation.

I really liked Just Dance 3.
The song selection is nice. Downloadable songs are great (specially the Sweat Invaders tracks. The Mario-track was kinda fun).

The Just Sweat mode was nice. Tried it for 7 days and achieved the 21,000 burned calories goal (3k+ per day).
Looks nice and colorful. Wii version is apparently more "strict" than the 360 version (i.e. you have to perform the motions more.. accurate).
And then of course there's always multiplayer which is a blast and gets a lot of laughs.

I wasn't a big fan of the first two games and always wondered what other saw in it... just based on quick impressions and quick looks. But really liked JD3 after spending time with it and now get why many like it and sells that much.

Dance Central 1? Back up?

Is it being bundled in UK? Because Australia usually gets the same bundles as the UK and it's not being bundled here.

If that's charting off it's own back that is amaaaaaazing. Totally deserves it though. Single best reason to own Kinect.

Yeah it's Bundled with some 360s here, I think it's a retailer bundle rather than an official pack in.
