Capcom: "We've got no plans for PS Vita Monster Hunter at the moment"

Looks like it's staying on the 3DS for the foreseeable future.

Over on the Capcom forums fans were talking about bringing Monster Hunter to the Vita, but quickly shot down. Sorry Vita dudes :-/

There are many people that want a version of Monster Hunter for our PSVita... Capcom would win a lot of money releasing a MH title for Vita and woul make happy many people.

Please we need a MH in vita

To which they replied:

As mrk1976 said, however, MH Freedom Unite is up on the PS store.

I don't think much people are shocked or surprised tbh

Edit: I do think that MMO version may get a port ala Phantasy Star online 2 will be a possibility

That sucks.

Playing MH:FU on the vita is actually very good thanks to the OLED and the extra power could have been awesome if used well ( defeated monsters dont disappear after 10 seconds maybe?).

Only game that makes me want to consider getting the 3DS.

It's probably best that Capcom doesn't respond at all to these 'rumors.'

The statement made will somehow be twisted into 'Vita Monster Hunter not now but next year!'

in 2 years time people will still be talking about MH on Vita. Cant people just drop it already.

Once MH4 on the 3DS drops this port begging is going ramp up.

Finding out what happened to certain parts of capcon and Sony is a close second to wanting to know the ea/Nintendo deal

I feel that Capcom has already miss the boat to put Monster Hunter on the Vita. With games like Soul Sacrifice, God Eater 2, Phantasy Star Online, and Toukiden its already too late to do that. They may as well keep it on the 3ds where there is no direct competition.

I dont think capcom would be concerned about that. MH4 would blitz all of them!!

Crazy if you think that MH was massive on PSP, and that many PSP owners (including me) were planning to buy a Vita just because of MH, which seemed a sure deal before it was announced exclusively for 3DS.

Honestly, MH would weep away all those games in one second if it'd be released on Vita. MH is a massive franchise, and has a huge following in Japan, and a quite good following in the West as well. GE is nowhere close to MH and it's the closest one in terms of popularity. Toukiden and SS are new IPs, PSO2 is not even an hunting action. Stop implying that it's Vita that doesn't need MH.

Wouldn't it be wise of them to just keep mum about a Vita release until the 3DS sales die down and then flip the switch?

You know people will double dip for improved visuals, framerate and exclusive monsters.

If I were Capcom, that's what I would do.

What are you expecting him to say?
Sure, Capcom's USA Online/Community Specialist is going to confirm you that a MH is in development for Vita

And no, this is not me expecting MH Vita. It's me saying that this is not news.

Probably easier to just port it to Wii U and then do compatibility between the two versions, not like either console is doing particularly well (the Vita and the WiiU, I mean)

Can't deal with it.

He could have not responded at all if MH Vita was being planned. It's a shame, but I personally far prefer the "clones" to the original MH.

Pretty much this. I wonder how much money nintendo keep shoving into capcom's pockets to keep on their systems. Just got to hope that sony can come up with some similar system movers. MH pretty much solely carried the psp in japan.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Nintendo didn't make the Circle Pad Pro for nothing.
