‘Saints Row IV’ (-48%) takes the crown for a third week and prevents ‘Rome: Total War II’ from becoming the first PC-only title to take top spot since ‘Guild Wars II’ (W35 2012) by just a few hundred sales.

The sequel to 2004’s ‘Rome: Total War’ tops its predecessor by over 4,000 sales for week 1 and is the first of two event titles (Tuesday release) in our All Formats Top 10. Originally released by Activision, Sega have taken over publishing duties for the much anticipated sequel.

The second Tuesday release shows as a re-entry at No3 with Activision Blizzard’s ‘Diablo III’ making its first outing on Xbox 360 and PS3 following the PC release in May last year. Ubisoft’s ‘Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist’ (-51%) drops two places to No4 while ‘Disney Infinity’ (-22%) slips a place to No5. ‘Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition’ (-23%) slips to its lowest position since launch at No6 but stays ahead of ‘Payday 2’ (+51%) which continues an impressive week-on-week climb to No7. New at No8 is Sony’s ‘Killzone: Mercenary’ which becomes the 5th best launch week for a PS Vita title. It’s also the second outing on a hand-held for the Killzone series following the launch of ‘Killzone: Liberation’ on PSP in W44 2006. Ubisoft’s ‘Rayman Legends’ (-16%) slips from No6 to No9 although it does receive a slight boost in the form of the PS Vita version which arrived this week. The final new entry in this week’s Top 10 is a first for home consoles as ‘Farming Simulator 2013’ arrives for both Xbox 360 and PS3.

Outside the Top 10, last week’s new releases ‘Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’ (-80%) and ‘Madden NFL 25’ (-51%) dip to No11 and No19 respectively. There’s also a debut in the Top 40 for ‘Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate’ at No35 from Tecmo Koei.

Vita release date was confusing. At one point it looked as if it was pushed out to this coming friday and then suddenly i realised it was out last week.

Looks as though Killzone was the title of choice for Vita buyers this week - around 65% of all top Vita software sold was that one game. 10% boughts Rayman by comparison.

I think it hit the PSN store last week. I haven't grabbed it personally because KZ came out, and I haven't finished Origins yet. It is possible to grow a large Vita backlog!

Yeah PSN+ on my Vita/PS3 coupled with my Wii U and 3DS has made me depressed lol. No idea where to start. Only game I really dug into on my Vita was Wipeout because it's Wipeout

It's a shame that outside of Mario and DK 2D sidescroller's are pretty much dead. I'm sure/hopeful this is profitable but yeah. Btw I think the Nintendo sidescroller's deserve all the sales they get but Rayman seems good too from what I played of the Wii U demo. Guess I'm a part of the problem. Indie stuff seems to be doing good however.

Based on the online mode, the game has sold AT LEAST 30,000 copies digital+retail, in total I would expect it to have sold 50,000 combined on PS3 atm.

the week before thats top for japan was only 39k. There will be a few games selling well over jojo's first week in the coming months.

also uk is a different thing than eu

UK market is dead?

The only reason I can think of for Farming Simulator being that high in the UK charts is Giant Bomb and dubstep montages.

Thing about JoJo ASB is that it's getting hammered by some negative reviews in Japan due to its lackluster single player mode. Multiplayer/versus shows some promise though.
Furthermore, it's sales come from the fact that it's a well known franchise in Japan.

Bought both Killzone and Rayman on Vita last week. Did my part for the cause. O7

Killzone: Mercenary debutting in Top 10 is good news . This game deserves every bit of success it gets. Also, leaderboards wise, i am currently ranked at 19k, last time i checked. I have played the game for a while and finished around 2 chapter and had a couple of multiplayer sessions.

Killzone is the highest Vita game on the charts since Uncharted and FIFA Football during launch week. Hopefully it won't fall of straight away next week.
