Set 10 years after the events of Fortune City in Dead Rising 2, players are introduced to Nick Ramos, a young mechanic with a strange tattoo and a mysterious past,
who must find a way to escape a city full of zombies before an impending military strike wipes the city of Los Perdidos, California, and everyone in it, off the map.
Nick can’t do it alone – he must join up with other survivors to stay alive. They must fight their way out before it’s too late.

With an immersive open-world experience, intense action, and unmatched level of weapon and character customization,
a new generation of zombie-slaying fun has arrived with Dead Rising 3.

One of the largest cities in Southern California, Los Perdidos is a leading national center of business, culture and the center of the entertainment industry.

Central City:
The shopping and downtown area of Los Perdidos.
Broad urban avenues feature high-end retail shopping, luxury hotels, sleek museums and modern glass-and-chrome architecture.

South Almuda:
Home of the budy docks, warehouses, train yards, heavy industry,
shipping offices, and liquor stores at the heart of Los Perdidos budy shopping industry.

Ingleton:
The area thrived in the early part of the 20th century before falling into pverty and disrepair,
and many examples of history "Americana" architecture can still be found here.

Sunset Hills:
High-end residential area, noted for winding roads, large mansions, elevated landscaping and modern sense of design.

Dead Rising 3 now features two different game modes.

Nightmare Mode:
Your time is limited to finish your mission and be prepared to face tougher Zombies. Checkpointing is disabled and you need to visit the bathroom to save your progress.
Prepare to die, prepare to start over - this is your classic Dead Rising mode.

If you beat the game in Nightmare difficulty, you might get a neat surprise.

Sandbox/Normal Mode:
The explorers mode for some Zombie-killing fun. No time restrictions, no worries for losing your progress.
Finish the story, save everyone, find everything - all at your own pace.

The zombies of Los Perdidos are smarter and deadlier than ever. With intelligent AI and shared awareness, players will be forced to employ all of their cunning, combat skills and creativity to stay alive.
Get ready for a new generation of zombie thrills, where you’ll face an overwhelmingly horde of blood thirsty zombies that never stop coming.
In Dead Rising 3, zombies are best in breed, with tons of variation and detailed gore. You never know who you’ll face off against next!

Players can create their tools of zombie destruction on the fly, enabling unique and unforgettable gameplay moments.
The action is gorier than ever as players survive and strike back at their undead attackers in new and imaginative ways.
Find the blue-prints, find the weapons and craft new crazy weapons on the fly - no more work-bench required.

Sledge Saw: Everyones favourite - A highly destructive chainsaw, attached to a long handle, giving it the range of a sledgehammer.
Gun Blade: A powerful sawed-off shotgun with a machete attached to one end. Shoot first, then move in for a final stab.
Pummel Blast: A sledgehammer with grenades attached to the head. Blows of the hammer cause the grenades to explode, creating maximum damage.
Iron Edge: A broadsword and a machete, combined into one powerful blade for optimal slicing and dicing power. Causes more damage than either weapon on its own.
Grenade Launcher: 4-count grenade launcher made from the finest plumbing tubing and shotgun components available.

And much, much more!

Vehicles are not only used as transportation in Dead Rising 3, they are also an extension of combat and survival. You'll be able to build and customize a huge variety of unique combo vehicles like the devastating Shock Dozer!
Cars not only help you navigate the world of Los Perdidos, they are a weapon against the zombie horde. But watch out – zombies will cling to your car and attack you while you’re driving!
Players can choose from 26 different high fidelity vehicles to navigate the world, including Nick’s muscle car. Dead driving has never been this much fun – or effective.

Two screen, more action:
Use your SmartGlass enabled device to connect to the Zombie Defense and Control network and gain access to exclusive missions,
new weapons, powerful military support features and more!

Sense the danger:
With Kinect, the zombie horde can hear beyond the screen and will react to you calling out for a more immersive experience.
Use motion controls to point and command your survivor posse and even yell insults to taunt your enemies.

As with every Dead Rising game, you will meet many different characters. Help and save them, so they can help and save you. But is everyone trustworthy?
In Dead Rising 3 you are able to give basic commands to your allies - make them fight zombies, make them scavenge, or make them defend an area.
Some characters are hard to come by, so Nick needs to teach them a lesson - Bossfights are unavoidable if you want to save your friends, and especially yourself.

Dead Rising games share the same world and characters - so there may be some surprise visits by familiar faces, be prepared!

In the online mode, players can jump in or out of a friend's game at any time.
All progression and experience points achieved in a friend's game will carry back to their own game.

In addition, all missions completed in a friend's game will also be registered as "complete" in their own,
making it so players will never need to go back and replay a co-op mission.

In Dead Rising 3's co-op mode, players will drop into the boots of Dick, a "wisecracking trucker."
According to his description, Dick sees Dead Rising 3 main character Nick Ramos as his best chance of escaping Los Perdidos alive and will play a "key role" in the story.

Like its predecessors, Dead Rising 3 features Psychos - ultra-tough baddies who hang around in certain areas, the beating of whom isn't essential progress.
In the new game, they're themed on the Biblical Seven Sins - that's Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride.

Despite the technical issues, this looks like the most fun launch game out of the lot on both systems to me. It will be a must buy when I get an Xbone.

While the technical issues are extremely off-putting, this sounds like the kind of game I wanted Dead Rising to be from the beginning. The endless loading screens of previous games really killed any sense of place they might have been aiming for. It definitely looks fun.

Not sure I'll pick it up at launch, though. We'll see...

30 fps is to be expected.

This is a sandbox game with hundreds of zombies while so many things going on at the same time...

I'm not picking this up as a launch game, but I plan to have it by the end of next month.

I know it will be happily waiting for me once I put tons of time into KI and F5.
