Drakengard 3: Fifth 'Latest Information' Live Broadcast [JP]

It's that time again, a special niconico broadcast is being set up by Dengeki as promotion for the upcoming release of Drag-On-Dragoon 3. (Drakengard 3) The broadcast is starting at around 10 minutes from now.

Reading the broadcast's description, it seems like this week we have the voice actors for both Zero and Mikhail come onto the broadcast as guests as well as feature Eir Aoi performing the game's theme song [Kuroi Uta] live in the studio.

Hahahaha, not surprised to come back to a dead thread! (Edit: Mostly dead thread, I was still making this post when I saw the one above.)

Stream was super boring and uninteresting for the most part. Things that I could gather from it were:

Zero's VA: Maaya Uchida (内田真礼)

Mikhail's VA: Nao Tōyama (東山奈央)

More artwork from the 10th Anniversary box were shown off: (Which is already sold out.....)

Something about these comics being offered for sale on the 19th of December:

Showed off the game's first guide which comes with the Caim costume DLC for Zero:

The Official Website for the Soundtrack is now online. OST will be released on January 22!

Can't wait!

Ohboyohboyohboyohboyohboy import day 1!

Still not a very good looking game.

Hell YEAH it looks like dogshit give me a high five bruv! Really though, Cavia + Access games working together will never produce a graphically intensive game. What you'll get is a sea of interesting and great characters/plot/music.

You can make a pretty game that isn't graphically intensive.

Interesting battle(?) music, thanks for sharing.

But since the thread got bumped, I just got reminded of all the new stuff about the game that was recently revealed so I'll use this to play catch up if anyone else missed it.

Emi Evans is back: (edit: I'm too slow)

A bit of interesting trivia on the game from a recent Dengeki interview. There's also new screenshots of the game in the Dengeki article.

Yoko said that Drakengard fans frequently request a dark story according to surveys from Square-Enix and Shiba personally wants a story like Nier. Yoko "aims to do neither" while keeping true to the spirit of the Drakengard series. He had to fight to keep a female protagonist and Zero's eye-flower, as he believes it will offer a different flavor to the story. In a Dengeki Online interview, he says that it's a story about "searching" for something.

Actually there’re a couple ideas that Yoko Taro wanted to do for this game but were rejected. The first one wanted to trick players into thinking that they missed a title by calling this one Drag-On Dragoon 4 and have the story search for the “missing piece” of the series. The other one was set in a contemporary setting following the adventures of a Japanese high school girl who would call for her dragon companion through her cellphone.

Options menu, there's an option to turn off the blood splatter effect that usually fills the screen in combat.

Assortment of images that show of the intoners and their respective regions:

There's also several translated character mini novels which I made a thread for over here:

Think that covers everything so far. Special thanks goes to rologeass's tumblr.

I wonder how this will effect the NiER universe? Drakengard 3 is supposedly a prequel right?
The events in NiER are a result of what happens in the E ending of Drakengard.

Of course I never played Drakengard 2 to see if anything was retconned, but the fact that NiER did come out afterwards on the PS3
is a consideration of it being a "possible outcome"

Watch Drakengard 3 come out and a side game is spun off on that on the PS4, that would be nice.

If Drakengard 3 really is a prequel, then I wouldn't expect more than one ending that leads to Drakengard 1. Then Drakengard 3 pulls a Drakengard and SURPRISE there's FIVE NEW PATHS that can lead anywhere. I wouldn't be shocked to see Drakengard 3 leading straight to Deadly Premonition of all things.
You don't want to play Drakengard 2. The combat got improved over 1 (which is really really hard not to do), but the characters make you wish you had tooth rot. If you really do want to experience the game, just take a look at http://lparchive.org/Drakengard-2/

Depends. Can I unlock them in game.

Yes -cough-. I'm willing to bet absolutely nothing on that because they're all going to end up in an artbook.

Game looks so NieR
yay.
. With that first Emi Evans track, I'm hooked now. Guess I'll have to go through Squeenix and order the physical copy staight from them.

I love this guy. He really is the arch-prankster of gaming.

Character models look nice, actually. Everyone says it looks like dogshit but I don't think so. The environments will probably be lacking, kind of like Nier, but that's okay.

There's a bunch of news/info coming in.

Next niconico Live broadcast with Dengeki has been setup for 16th of December. I'll probably make a separate thread for it before it goes live:

Famitsu gave Drakengard 3 (PS3) – 9/9/8/8 review score but who honestly cares.

The Chinese version of the game has no English subs, release date in Jan, 2014.

A fansite translated that mini impressions of the gameplay in the link I posted a few posts above:

* Fast paced battles
* Changing weapons are easy and don’t upset the flow of battle
* Missions last around 20-30 minutes
* Difficulty level is well balanced – Even if you die or find it difficult to complete a stage, it’s easy to level up in extra missions or save strong Utautai attacks for difficult enemies.
* Fans of the original series or Nier will be quite pleased with this game.

* Mikhail provides a nice contrast with Zero’s tough personality.
* Mikhail (probably female) appears to be a great, nobel beast of a dragon… but she’s quite innocent and young-spirited. She always wants to help Zero when she’s in trouble.
* Sometimes she is more engrossing than the Utautai sisters.
* You can freely switch between ground and air battles with Mikhail; air battles feel more like a shooting game.
* The freedom of the battleground with the high-speed nature of battles keeps the game interesting and fun!

This month's issue of Playstation Dengeki will feature a 14 pages of game preview along with a code for a PS3 theme and signed concept art of Zero. You can see the artwork and theme on this page:

That should be everything for now. Now the painful wait til for a Western release. :(

I'll be out of town for the Holiday when this arrives.
Luckily I'll be back with enough free time to delve headfirst into it for a good 2-3 days.

Really can't wait.

lol you in the same boat too? I went FML when I saw the release date of this. As am out of country. Though I could get it via PSN digitally and get the physical copy to collect when am back in country...

Very excited to play the game, considered getting the japanese version but my understanding of the language is not very good yet, so...

I wish the anniversary box wasn't so damn expensive, I'd totally import it.

Anyway, gonna have to play the waiting game and pray that Digital River doesn't fuck up my order. If only I could pre-order this through Amazon, would be so much better.

D2 was so eh...
1 & Nier are great an all, but Drakengard 2 just kind of meandered without the story to back it so it became a super subpar Dynasty Warriors with poor flight mechanics for air/land battles.

Hoping this is more Drakengard & Nier than Drakengard 2.

The flower growing out of that one character's eye really grosses me out.

Every time I see it I can't help but think of how awful it would be to have that things roots growing into her eye. *shudder*
