What's up with this? I just saw the COD trailer and its like three weeks away from launch. Is this something that people do now and if so anyone know why?

The earlier the promotion, the more potential for it to grow and gain exposure pre-launch.

They did the same thing with Ghosts, so it's not really anything new.

CoD trailers have always come earlier since MW3, I believe. The reasoning is to steal attention from EA's shooter that fall since BF3 launch trailer called out CoD with that infamous quote.

Trailers on launch day/a day or so before never made sense to me anyway. They seemed like a "hey remember this thing" way of promoting the game.
