look at the bright sight, at least you are getting foils. You know how many cards I have atm? around 500... with 0 foils dropped (><)

Woah, how did that happen? I must have gotten a similar amount of card drops and there were like 15 foils among those.

I just finished Dead Space 2, what a disappointment that was compared to the first game which I really enjoyed during my first playthrough half a year ago. I beat the game in under 9 hours, less than half of the time I needed for the original. The lack of proper bossfights until the end was sad (not that "shoot the yellow spot" in DS1 was THE innovation but the scope of the bosses made it fun). The game completely misses the atmosphere and the angst of being trapped alone in space and trades that in for a few more explosions and bigger set pieces.

And don't get me started on the story...

I hope you didn't use any of the many completely immersion breaking DLC suits and weapons they loaded onto the game. I went to lengths to actively remove that dlc from the game and it seemed like pretty much of the same old Dead Space. (in regards to gamplay at least)

I really dislike GOGs method to download patches. According to my GOG library 3 games has updated patches, but I can't figure out if I need to download the entire game again to get the latest version or if there are any way to just download the patch file.

Likewise heh, one thing to try is righ click>properties of the game and see what ver. it is.

It's like traveling in time back to patch games in 1997.

Still have it on my Origin account waiting to be played.
Oddly enough I bet i'll like it. I love RE5 and RE6 after all. A game changing genre doesn't bother me in the slightest.

RE4 and 5 are much better games (maybe even 6 combat-wise), and I've played them 3-4 times each. DS3 is just about having waves of enemies chucked at you, a limited weapon selection compared to than prior games, and terribly placed checkpoints. Not unplayable, but there's no finesse like in RE.

Ah, that's nothing new, just my infamous luck. I have pretty shitty luck with drops in all games, one of reasons I stopped playing MMOs, just not worth for me. Must be karma or something. And as you can imagine I hate random drops.
Talking about my luck, I sometimes win steamgaf raffles, amazingly, blessed place this is :)

Konami is still deciding how to region-lock LOS2. :p

I really hope they don't, but it's Konami we are talking about, so even if you are joking, most likely that's what they are doing!

That's a shame. Still I gotta play through it sometime.
Can't let that dollar go to waste lol.

Paradox Interactive games are good, only it kinda takes time to get into them, to learn to play, I mean. Some are more demanding on PC than others, and you don't really describe your PC, but I think you should be fine.

Ok. thanks for the reply. Will dip into this uncharted territory since its quite cheap,

Fuck, just realized Unsung Story hasn't reached its first goal with five days left.

http://goo.gl/0d8lqf

That sucks, I'm not even sure if I want to back it now. I was expecting a 2.4 million game, not a 600k game.
Tis a shame, but not unsurprising. They didn't prepare enough. Sure there's a lot of information on the kickstarter page now, but it's already lost the initial momentum.

Welp, avoid DS3 like the plague. It makes 2 look like 1.

Valdis Story is playing nicely so far. Hitting some old Tomba notes for me. The platforming could use a little tightening or I need to get to the point where I can anticipate a ledge grab or not. The music is a little one-note for me, but is generally OK.

Also started playing this. Playing on normal and getting rocked on bosses. Still not comfortable with the combat mechanics.

Just completed Jazzpunk.

Pizza Horror and Wedding Quake were so damn brilliant. I played like 4 times Wedding Quake until i went on with the Story. I hope we see a Full Game of it.

I just played through the first episode of Grimm. The words of Grace Kelly come immediately to mind: You don't have to be deliberately repulsive just to impress me.

The gameplay is basically this: you're told a (close-to-original) rendition of a fairy tale story, then Grimm, who impresses me as the type for whom the punchline of his favorite joke is "with a pitchfork," runs around as a reverse-Okami making everything look like it came out of a troubled twelve-year old's notebook. There's some bad platforming, and a very little collecting-for-the-sake-of-collecting, and twenty-two more embarrassing episodes to go before I can delete it and move on.

I played them as they came out on GameTap and were free for the first 24 hours. That's basically exactly how I remember it. Well, I actually only played the first 4 or so. Even at free I didn't feel like continuing. Maybe they change things up after that?

Is Enslaved rather buggy or is it just my CPU not being able to keep up. Sometimes some triggers don't happen until I trigger the next one (like Trip opening a door but not going in -> cutscene reverts everything back to normal) and just now I fell into the black void

listen to the mad man
jshackles, I have a very specific Enhanced Steam request.

I use black as a highlight colour for games I own and blue for the highlight colour for stuff on my wishlist.

One problem:
QuzCG7T.png

Is it possible to make it so that if the shading colour is darker than a certain threshold, the text highlight is disabled?

Assuming colourString is in the format #ABCDEF
Code:
function shouldIHighlightColour(colourString)
{
	var colourSum = parseInt("0x"+colourString.slice(1,3))+ parseInt("0x"+colourString.slice(3,5))+ parseInt("0x"+colourString.slice(5,7))
	return (colourSum>96)?1:0;
}

If it returns 1, do the highlight colour as you do now. If it returns 0, don't.

This is basically a very naive "brightness sum" that just checks if the sum of red, green, and blue is less than decimal value 96 (IE 32 each). You could probably improve by actually reading the background colour of the text box and measuring the distance between the two colours and disabling highlighting if that distance is too low for effective contrast.

I've had glitches like falling through a platform, it happened about 4 times but that's pretty much it.

I'm not expecting much, but at least they're short episodes.

As time goes on, I start to wonder why I don't own one or both of those.

I've got a group of friends who collectively play Rust. They have dedicated miners, builders, shooters etc. They are very good at what they do. So good that they've been banned from multiple servers by salty admins.

Meanwhile, the hackers continue to break the game and they don't do anything about it.

We're hoping for another nice multiplayer game to come out so we can switch to that.

Fuck games, apparently new seasons of Masterchef Canada and New Zealand have begun.

I'm never going to finish American Nightmare.

American Nightmare is but a small slice. It took me ~8 hours to complete and the only achievements I didn't unlock pertain to Arcade.

As it stands, Rust is a very incomplete game right now. You can go from brand new to fully equipped in about two hours, but if you just play solo you won't last three minutes once people discover your hideout.

If you play in a group, I imagine it's an amazing game.

Why anyone buys Early Access games is beyond me. Plus, you'll grow bored of it when it's finished.

I wonder which game has the higher daily player count? I would imagine that Rust has the higher count since concurrent player numbers are always much higher than DayZ.

My goal for this week is to finish Alpha Protocol, Silent Hill: Homecoming and Jazzpunk since Im going on a school trip to London from 17th february to 21th february.

How long are these games? Jazzpunk should be 3 easy hours though.

Alpha Protocol is around 20 hours IIRC, according to Steam I have 26 hours in the game but my play count is always a little inflated since I leave games running but paused while grabbing something from the kitchen or what not

Silent Hill: Homecoming is a good 8 or so hours. The puzzles are dead fucking easy and the enemies pose almost zero threat. The only part you may get fucked on is the clock puzzle which is prone to bugging out with a random answer instead of the logical in-game answer. I had problems with this every run I played on 360, don't know about the PC version because Konami has yet to reduce the game's price to something I'd find acceptable for double dippage.
