New 'X' trailer [Monolithsoft] shows uncut gameplay

Dont know why anyone would be excited by "based on Xenoblade combat", the combat was the worse thing about the game. Tedious and rife with that "offline mmo" feeling.

good lord a lot of you people never played Xenoblade

why would you ever get outside the mech? wouldnt that do more damage than a little tiny homs or whatever

I'm guessing there's a gameplay limitation. Fuel or some such.

Disappoitned that they still won't give us full details on this game. The fact that they have "Tester" and then "Player X" etc. listed really makes me worried about what direction they may be taking it in.

I'm guessing the reason the text seems so crude is because this is footage from the Japanese version. I'm sure it'll be cleaned up in the english release.

The Nintendo Direct footage actually had me a little worried. The enemies just looked like huge bullet sponges that weren't posing a threat.

But, still, #inmonolithwetrust

Really wish they'd so along with something more along the lines of Xenoblade's UI the next time we see it.

Clean and not too chaotic.

I am disappointed. No I have been crushed. My heart......:(

Looks boring, animations are meh, did anyone see that guy run comically fast, battle system is from Xenoblade which I was not a fan of and there are some QTE's as well. The UI also looks like a mess. I though they would improve stuff like that from Xenoblade.

Hype deflated. I feel so defeated.......

Xenoblade combat had the same type of QTE stuff in it. Pretty minor...

It's funny seeing people saying they were disappointed or didn't get what they saw with that X gameplay. It literally looked like Xenoblade with the option to jump in mechs. And some Engrish. What were people expecting? (aside from a story trailer)

I think this game is getting delayed though. Iwata didn't comment on it being a 2014 release unlike the other games, and we still don't have a title. Also still not sure what's going on with the characters, especially with the names (Tester, player 2, etc).

And the difference in player levels... this is totally an online game. We still don't have any confirmation of AI party members beyond "duh, why a story driven RPG have AI party members?!" despite the fact we've barely seen a hint of story either.

Looking dangerously close to a monster hunter clone mixed with Xenoblades UI there nintendo.

Howsa about you confirm the epic 80+ hour single player story mode so I can stop worrying? Please?

In no way does it look like Monster Hunter... Have you ever played Monster Hunter?

And I don't get the complaints about the UI. It looks just like Xenoblade's but updated and fancier. Looks awesome to me.

Says you. I really liked the combat.

Game looks really nice, but we really still know nothing about this.

I mean, is this gonna be MonHun with mechs? Is there any story at all? If so, are we talking Gears/Saga worthy or shounen stuff like blade?

Come on Takahashi!

Really hope its not an MMO

It's not.

No. Yes. Yes.

Really, people. Watch the other two trailers and play Xenoblade and all your questions will be answered!

I'm hoping footage of X in the future is a bit better. Something about "Hey, kill this monkey. It has pretty much no AI so just mash till it's dead, it'll take a bit longer than you'd hope though" followed by "Okay do it again but in a Mech" didn't really click with me. But the combat was the worst part of Xenoblade too, so hopefully they show the better parts of the game soon and re-hype me.

MY HYPE. Definitely going to get a WiiU this summer to play this game.

Most likely the game is not coming out this year at least not in EU/US. I would wait for next year with buying wiiU. It may even get a price drop in the meantime.

I was sadly completely unimpressed. I still don't really know what kind of game this is. It reminded me kind of of Phantasy Star Online (another game I haven't played). Is that accurate?

Looks alright, but there are a few things that worry me.

The hud is completely jarring, it's way too busy. Those numbers, and the button that keeps popping up. What is that anyway?

The encounters don't really seem all that meaningful. That big enemy didn't really seem to pose much of a threat. It's like size is only about flash and is superficial.

I don't see why people need to have played Xenoblade to have the opinion that the gameplay looks boring, or mmo like.

Still looking forward to see more footage.

Looks like Xenoblade to me...just with the added mechanic of mechs that can give you power boosts but have fuel limitations? Mechs are probably vital in the fighting the large enemies.

Its weird we have got nothing on the story.

Xenoblade's story was pretty much shounen. Saga was ridiculously complex to the point it was almost a joke. Gears had one of the greatest story in an rpg I have played.

I like how a game with big monsters = monster hunter like now...

There were giant monsters in Xenoblade too, guess we need to call it a monster hunter clone too

I don't see how people are surprised about the combat. It's looked just like Xenoblade's ever since the reveal a year back. If anything, it looks a bit faster than it was in Xenoblade, not to mention the swappable weapons. Also mechs, of course. =p

I thought Xenoblade was really good, despite it's meh combat. So I am pretty interested in this. This trailer confirmed my suspicions that it will indeed play like Xenoblade.

If you can play this couch co-op and it has a proper campaign like xenoblade, I will buy a Wii U just for this (though I'd probably buy Bayo 2 as well).
It also looks like you can dodge stuff now.
Just having this would make this a major improvement over Xenoblade.
