Assassin's Creed V is not Japan, but is Jade Raymond's favorite historical era

A japan setting would be amazing, but it would suck if didn't have the same naval focus as AC4 :p especially for the people who loved it the most out of the series like me(very interested as to how ubi deals with this).

I kinda feel like Ubisoft needs to do a spinoff series of pirates/naval games if they don't include that aspect in future AC games.

It's set in the future. Space pirates. Space pirates everywhere. Flying ships, multiple planets, alien species.

At least we can be sure it will be set in a place with a high concentration of chests, flying documents, possibly some feathers and a whole lot of birds circling high towers. And hay, lots of hay.

They could take a significant risk and do a colonial Africa setting.

They wont, but goodness....that would be an interesting setting.

Voodoo (not what they call it)...Effects of colonialism...Wildlife...Beautiful landscapes...

Im not talking Egypt or Northern Africa either. Im talking East and Southern Africa.

To make this work though it would have to tackle some very difficult subject matter and probably have a significantly darker tone.

I would mind if it was in Egypt just please oh please go back to solo only with no MP I beg of you. As much as I love the games, I am a secret trophy whore and the MP ones are a grind and the DLC for it does not help my hate for it.

I don't see why they don't just do the Russian Revolution, I mean they already made a character for it and everything in the comics. Plenty of gorgeous architecture in Moscow and St Petersburg that you can climb, loads of historical figures to include, plenty of action (rebellions, assassinations etc. were all very commonplace during that time).

Although I suppose Victorian London could be pretty good too.

I'm hoping Russia, maybe Victorian London <-less impact now with The Order coming out. I would even love to go back to The Crusades on the new consoles.

Victorian London it is then. We'll play as another brit, I don't really mind. No ancient Egypt, well I guess cities were really small at the time so that's expected as well.

Victorian London please.
Victorian London please.

Do you know how stale Victorian London is getting? The Order 1886, Thief, Dishonored etc. etc.
That setting is so massively overused.

Russian Revolution

or even Ancient Egypt

Now these would bring some fresh air into the video game landscape.

Victorian London please.

Maybe a few years ago sure, but I don't want them to do a dark dingy gothic Dishonoured/Thief/The Order art style. Not saying those games are identical, hopefully my point comes across. Edit: Krusenstern you read my mind!!! Damn you :)

Must have said this in three AC threads, but Carolingians/Vikings would be fricking swish. Make Charlemagne a templar or some shin dig, have some fun with it.

But don't make the Vikings rampaging war lords killing and plundering and the Christians uniformly pious chaps. Try for some accuracy.

That or Song China with fucking massive Junk ships would be ace.

Also, ACIV showed we don't need to return to the verticality the previous games had to make a damn good AC game. Hope they continue along the lines of IV myself.

I hope they don't do Japan, there's plenty of ninja games out there. I'd rather they keep using settings that no other games use. One of the emails in ACIV mentioned Genghis Khan, which could be really interesting.

Ancient Rome ! The Civil Wars with Caesar, Pompey, Marc Anthony and August. And Cicero being the assassin leader like Machiavelli.
Or Caligula till the year 69 (Nero, 4 emperors in one year...)

Russian revolt would be awesome. Beginning with killing/defending the Romanovs, taking advice from Lev Tolstoy and in the end killing Lenin and Trotsky.

They need to go back in time, the more ancient the civilization is, the more interesting the setting is, please don't go any more modern that the 1800's

I take that back, at its height Alexandria had a population of 400k.

Disagree. Dishonored = Victorian London with some awesome fantasy, loved the game, but it's getting old already.

Developers say London and Edinburgh. Edinburgh is actually a much closer fit than London I'd say.

I didn't get London from it at all, I'm actually surprised to see it listed as an influence.

What are you trying? Both game worlds are set in a victorian era/city.

First of all, no, Thief is not Victorian era, it's always been more early modern/medieval than Victorian; secondly, not every city of a particular era is identical. Edinburgh has a very distinct look from London owing to building materials and styles.
