And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
My god yesterday was fucking crazy

what the fuck happened, anyone know?

PEACE

Awwwwww fuck, maintenance (?!) :(

So where to farm the most white items?!?!

I found that ring with the goblin who follows you picking up regular items. So far I'm two of three legendary when he finally tosses something. I've found weapon racks to be super consistent so I've been doing halls and crypts in act 1.

He's actually the only reason I've found legendary items my last couple runs.

Damn, 2/3? I gave up when his first was a rare. The bridges in Act III like Rakkis Crossing are great.

I have 1.2 m gold. I was thinking of buying lots of cheap gems and crafting them up into a few of the really fancy gems to use in gear.
Is that a good use of that cash or should I hang on to it?

Hang on to it, you'll get better gems when the expansion hits in 2 weeks. Plus you'll want to save your gold for re-rolling stats on items. We're basically in that pre-WoW expansion zone where you really don't want to go all out on a spending spree for items/gems that are going to expire pretty soon.

GG!

I got about 10-12 legendaries throughout Act I to Act IV. Here's a couple of the better drops:

i'm in love with the WD build of 0 sec zombie wall + fetish (more than 25 sometimes at the same time)

It's maximum crow control from the distance + very good fire power, and the best of all, you don't want crit chance or crit damage cos you don't need it (fetish cap crit damage at 50%)

In RoS with the new set that make zombie wall spam acid clouds is going to be overkill

To be fair, even if you just got a bad one...loot 2.0 should NOT guarantee every drop is good, that'd be awful for longevity. Besides, every drop I get is shit!

Monk gaf, what's the best build now at 2.0.2 ?

Currently using this

I'm using this. I stack EP on elites, hit Mantra, Inner Sanctuary then SSS and I usually kill elites on T1. I'm going to try T2 tonight.

Also, My new skysplitter is decent, but it can be used at level 42. I wish it wasn't account bound so I could let a new monk try it because I'm sure I'l find something better in RoS. Even with the Dex, it might be great to level up a Crusader with.

Just went to a place and advertised D3 2.0 with over 30 people watching.

I'm guaranteed I got AT LEAST five people starting the game to try it out today.

I love my job.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
My brother got a thunderfury in WoW last night now I really want one in D3. Well really I want one in RoS, getting a level 60 one now would just be a nice placeholder.

"RoS will be fun, for a little while, then you'll get bored. Blizzard doesn't like me for some mysterious reason. Now let's talk about why PoE is better than Diablo."

It is a good point, however that summary is pretty amusing.

I think it'll be good fun for several months and stay fresh. You'll get good value out of your purchase and it'll be all round great.

That being said, in comparison to a game like PoE which has big updates every few months. I'm not convinced actual content will come the way of Diablo in the same quantity to keep the game interesting.

Yeah, he conveniently left out that he was playing with massively increased drop rates and using a bugged skill that was dealing way more damage that it should have.

Kripp's basing his opinion on stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ygZnbFEdBg

He's on Torment 6, killing goblins in seconds and getting 3-4 legendaries on the same screen. That's not going to happen on Live.

My current build for Monk is:

Exploding Palm Essence Burn
FoT Quickening
Cyclone (rune that gives Lightning damage)
Dashing Strike Barrage
Mantra of Heeling Time of Need
Sweeping Wind Cyclone

Yesterday this build was very different. I was using a different spirit generator and was not using SW. I was using Inner Sanctuary instead (Forbidden Palace) and MoC overawe.. Since then I got a WKL with 24% to Lightning damage and a Thunderfury. I then went all out Lightning damage Monk and it has served me better. My only problem is surviving long enough against elites as I have shit for healing so I am using Mantra of Healing. I don't have a problem killing mobs, I just use EP on some targets, spam Cyclone (I have passives to increase my spirit). Cyclone ends up doing good damage fast because of the Lightning damage mod.

I wish there was a EP rune that explodes into lightning damage.

Man I hate that the best parts of D3 and best parts of PoE aren't in one single game. I love PoE in theory but just don't find it all that fun to play, whereas D3 is very fun to play but is lacking in some areas that PoE dominates.

I like my WD build for ultimate laziness.

Widow Maker spider
Acid bomb lob bob
Locust swarm with extended duration
Zombie dogs with poison rune
Gargantuan with poison rune
Spirit walk with heal rune

Passive that gives 4 dogs
Passive to reduce enemy damage effected by poison
Passive that regens mana when primary attacks hit

With gear that has +poison and +locust swarm damage. I just launch it all and sit back as the dots and pets melt shit for me while I easily run around doing nothing but avoid traps lol.

Even with your +lightning gear WotHF FoF will significantly outdamage FoT.

Since you don't really have room for Inner Sanctuary or Serenity in your build I'd look to be using dashing strike a lot more actively vs those elite packs you're having issues with. If things get bad then dash the hell outta there until you can heal up, then get back into it.

LTK Scorpion Sting (stun) is lightning dmg too - may want to look into that in place of CS as that stun will help your survivability.

Yeah, I wish the same. It'd be nice to play a game with the best of both worlds but at the end of the day I value the moment to moment gameplay like 90% more because that is what you are actually doing most of the time so it doesn't actually bother me that much.

Mostly though I just wish other similar games cared about their moment to moment actually being fun, cause I've played nearly all of the modern ones and it always ends with me quitting after like an hour and turning on D3.

Yep, agreed. PoE is an awesome game that I kind of like playing, while D3 is an okay game that I have an absolute blast playing, especially now. Because I value fun over design, I play much more of D3 than PoE. It's that Blizzard polish that wins me out in the end I think. They sure do have a knack for making appealing to play games.

The FoT isn't about the damage, its about the Spirit Regen. Critical hits on that rune give more Spirit and I have 40%+ crit chance. The damage is just a nice bonus and I also still like the short teleport because I don't always have a DS charge. My main source of damage is from spamming Cyclone Strikes (Lightning damage) and EP. Cyclone spam keeps them in range of SW and Burn procs. When Burn procs go off so do the SW Cyclone procs and suddenly there are a shit ton of cyclones everywhere doing even more lightning damage. Its beautiful. Trash mobs even at high Torments get decimated in a chain reaction of fire and lightning.

I dropped Serenity as soon as I discovered Dashing Strike. Its all the defensive ability I need only I can use this offensively as well which is why its so good.

I might try out LTK Lightning rune but I don't know what skill to drop. Right now everything works so well together its hard to drop anything.

With cyclone strike pulling mobs to me, I've found crippling wave rising tide gives me more spirit than any other generator. Quickening is slow by comparison.

I also forgot to mention that I have a couple of items with the increased damage to FoT mod.

I am trying to find a Thundergods Vigor. It comes with Lightning Resistance which I am also stacking. Would push my build even further.

I'd really like mods ala Torchlight II as well.
