Speaking of older stuff, I was thinking about Nightmare Creatures the other day. From a quick look on the USPTO website it seems Ubisoft owns the IP so there's a faint chance the games will show up on GOG at some point.
But that would be uploaded by someone who actually owns the rights. I mean some random person, any person (maybe you or me) uploading it themselves to the uncurated store. By the time the rights owner (if it still exists) complains and gets the game taken down, I will have bought a copy already.

I don't think anyone will want to waste $100 submission fee for adding copyright breaking entries.
I'm sure Valve will crack down on that kind of stuff somewhat fierce.
Who knows if they'll still charge for that. And someone with a lot of money to spare could do it out of kindness. I know that I would :p (with a fake account, of course!)

Yeah, I know. That's why I opened with "Speaking of older stuff". ;)

Less than 10 pages, it's time for a new title,

Right now Nam's is the one to beat.

Was looking at my Steam Backlog....I could care less if I even play these games at this point in time. Being on this laptop and my current set up has killed all desire to play anything on PC at the moment. Think i'll play MGS1 for the billionth time.

That's the plan:

Interesting. Wonder how long till that happens since were dealing with valve time.

Given all these outages, this is probably the best time for my PSU to go up in smoke.

But as probably one of the biggest proponents of all of Valve's new initiatives (Steam Machines, Steam Controller, Linux, Streaming, etc), I think it is imperative for Valve to know (and presumably they do know) that none of that stuff matters if they don't start with a reliable service.

I know that Valve employees only work on things that interest them, but I sure hope that fixing these outages is interesting them because with such frequent outages, their value proposition over competitors like Origin takes a huge hit.

I find it hard to believe that gamers would flock to an EA-ran client, but if it works reliably (and that's generally the best people have to say about Origin), it is a far sight better than one that doesn't work reliably.

Looking at the Steam store page for Trials Fusion Deluxe Edition, it makes no mention of the Pre-purchase bonus pack listed on Uplay. Is it not included in the Steam version? I don't mind if I need to buy it from Uplay to get the bonus.
EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't see that they had the details of the pre-purchase bonus listed in one of the screenshots, they really should put it into the description for the game.

First time trying to expand to a second satellite village in Banished and I've run into some roadblocks. There are just so many factors to juggle during this juncture of your civilization.

  • First Attempt: Accepted Nomads into my city as I was expanding. Contracted a variety of diseases and ran out of food.
  • Second: Denied Nomads, ran out of stone which caused me a variety of issues on the back end.
  • Third Attempt: Expanded my initial city to its limits first as well as building a quarry, before slowly expanding into my new territory. Hopefully this one sticks.

Insistence on 'T' shaped employees does and will do no favors to the Steam's client\UI development and improvement.

Valve must explain reasons for Steam downtime and apologize. This is fucking insane, they just don't say anything about it.
Steamworks Partner site (https://partner.steamgames.com/ ) doesn't work too, so can't even make any changes. Amazing, Valve!

When Steam has downtime, it doesn't only affect the consumers, but the Steamworks developers as well.

From following DayZ, when Steam is down, development literally grinds to a halt.

Seeing as the pre-purchase pack isn't mentioned in the actual description text I'd be a little wary of believing the screenshot. The game is still a month away so if you wanted to err on the side of caution you could ask Ubi for confirmation with plenty of time to spare.

Dude, don't forget I live in a 3rd world country. I'm looking at a GTX 760 at most, and that would be very painful.

Assuming you couldn't swing one, wouldn't the release of the 860 push down the price of the 760 a little, anyway?

Edit: D'oh, forgot to switch tabs.

Oh gawd, I've never thought about that and yeah, it is crazily annoying when something like that happens.

Like, when I'm developing a new site with social sharing buttons, and Facebook is slow or down and everytime I refresh a page it takes years to load and I go around the office cursing.

With the difference that I can just comment out the line of code with the sharing function and that's it, while a game so intertwined with Steamworks is fucked up for real. :(

I'm guessing the burnley tower in arkham origins is just fucked? I remember de vent issue at launch but now batman just walks through the building (and the one besides it) I just glitch out and fall through the world and nothing is solid / can't grapple anywhere

already saw a few reports of people experiencing the same and since they said no more patches.. welp

no enigma side mission for me I guess

Mistakes were made.
I sent a ticket to Ubisoft support. If I can't get the bonuses from Steam I'll just hassle Valve's support about getting a refund.

Yup, it would. In most* civilized countries, that's what happens. Here, prices remain the same and new products are sold at even higher prices. In fact, saying that prices remain the same is a lie, because thanks to inflation and devaluation things get more expensive each passing month.

I don't think you need to hassle them. They introduced self-refund function to pre-orders not so long ago. I take it every game supports it. Check your purchase history, it should be there somewhere.

Every time I come to this thread now it seems like folks are talking about Steam being down.

You can get a refund on a pre-order automatically by visiting your account page (Store Transactions tab; look for a "Refund an item" link), however if you want the cost returned to anything other than your Steam Wallet you'll need to submit a support ticket. The automatic refund feature is also supposed to apply to unused gift purchases but this isn't the case yet.

Ah, that's rough.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

It's the same with Enhanced Steam development. I was working on a new feature yesterday that probably took twice as long as it should have due to Steam's downtime.

For the past 3 weeks, at least. But you may have missed the conversation about cats and dogs. That also happened.

How about:

Ok, the link is there, thanks guys. I will wait for a reply from Ubisoft support first though. It's gonna suck if they do a physical deluxe edition of the game though, I missed out on the nice steelbook version of Trials Evolution Gold Edition. Right now it seems like the physical edition is just the digital deluxe edition in a standard keep case.
