Titanfall 360 - Gameplay Video.

xxracerxx

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
Gamestop pre-orders were 4 times higher on Xbox One breh.

Last gen software sales are down. This will never outsell the Xbox One version. (it was surprising to me that even the Xbox One version sold better than PC)

This is a bold, bold claim right there.

The 360 version was never shown to the public and delayed twice, of course pre-orders were low for it. People weren't even sure the 360 version actually existed, that's how little information we had.
All you had to do to see if titanfall was coming to the 360 is look it up on google. The information is easily available on the main site for the game.

The tv spot also said "only on xbox".

And yet today is the first time we have seen even a screenshot of the 360 version. Two days before the game comes out. We didn't even know the game had been printed until last week. There was no gold announcement.

Idk, I would agree on most games in this situation, but the fact that it was delayed by some time and that it was seen as an X1 game because of all those X1 trailers/ads, I have a feeling most people don't really realize it is for the 360. Heck, a handful of people at college didn't know it was for the 360. They assumed it was all rumors until I told them.

Not really when the Xbox One version managed to outsell the PC.
Woah, I didn't know that.

You need a gold announcement and official pictures of a certain version to know that a game is coming out for a certain system?

Lots of games don't get "gold announcements". Especially ports to 8 year old hardware.

There is nothing strange about publishers not bothering to show 360/PS3 versions of their games these days. Take a look at almost any game on next gen consoles. You'll rarely be seeing the 360/PS3 version prior to it's release.

Next Gen is the focus now. It's not a high priority for anyone to show off the ugliest version of their game.

Uh... yes.

At least for a version that has been mysteriously absent for the better part of a year. After repeated inquiries to Respawn to show literally any proof that the 360 version existed.

Hm. Going to have to disagree with people saying that from the 360 to the One, there's no generational gap. Clearly it is. Textures and FPS immediately come to mind. This is a decent port though. Very decent. I think 360 owners will have fun.

You got me. MS was trying to hide this? And because it looks plainer with less screen tearing.. that's why?

Well, they certainly were trying to draw attention away from this version. No previews or footage until release, no advertisement etc.

What's amusing is that people are trying to spin it to one of two extremes for... reasons. It's either:
A) They hid this version because it looks too close to the Xbone version or
B) They hid this version because it looks terrible

Looking at the finished product (through low res videos) it seems clear that neither of these two scenarios is the truth. Microsoft were just keeping the focus on the Xbone to try and drive sales for their new console. Which makes perfect sense. The Xbone version does look quite a bit better, but the 360 version is no trainwreck.

You gonna be saying the same things when destiny and watch dogs come out?

Not surprisingly, it looks quite a ways off from the other versions, but this was probably the best you could expect from the old 360. The game's art does help at points, though, but where it lacks in comparison to the other versions is more easily masked in the simpler, tutorial stages, but not so much on more complex maps like fracture.

And I'm guessing it could be either the video, the guy's connection (or a combination of both) but performance looked really shakey on Fracture. Very tiny sample size, of course, but unless someone absolutely had no other alternative, they'd definitely be better off grabbing it on PC or Xbox One. I hope the game does very well on the 360, though. The more sales for this awesome game, the better.

I'm not aware of any footage of Thief being shown on the PS3/360 prior to that games release. Same goes for a lot of games that were on next gen consoles, as well as the older consoles.

Did anybody ask to see footage of the older consoles for thief?

Because people have been asking for footage of Titanfall 360 since it got announced, and then seemingly disappeared up until this week.

edit: This is getting away from my point, that the 360 version would have taken away XB1 sales if it was released at the same time. I still think that is THE reason why the game was delayed a month.

GSG Flash

Nobody ruins my family vacation but me...and maybe the boy!
Need to see a non network lag video to properly judge the port.

The game does look worse than the X1 version (which already looks like a last gen game) but it's not a generation wide gap between the two.

Most importantly, the port seems to capture the essence of TF just fine, so it does make buying a $500 console for the game a bit redundant.

did current gen thief get delayed for a month? no, if it had people would be thinking the same things that were being said about TF.

What do you think they would have said had someone asked? They would have done the exact same thing respawn, microsoft, and bluepoint did. "If you buy the game on a last gen system there will obviously be concessions, but we strongly feel that it will still be the same experience and thus, a great game." Hell, that's what anyone would say. Because even though the 360 version looks great for what is happening on screen, it's still running on eight year old hardware. And publishers (EA) don't want footage of their game running on eight year old hardware getting out. They want everything that they release to look as good as possible. Why do you thing even the pictures on the back of the 360 cover are of the pc version?

If Microsoft wanted to throw the 360 version under the bus, they should have publicly stated that it was running at 30fps a while ago. Or they would have done a fancy side by side comparison that detailed all of the improvements. But they didn't. You may not believe this, but microsoft wants to sell as many copies of titanfall as they can on both the xb1 and 360.

Ha no they wouldn't.

And titanfall (360 edition) was initially delayed for two weeks (and even before then the xbone version was beating it in pre-orders 4 to 1). It was then delayed for two more weeks. If your conspiracy had any sort of weight to it, the 360 version would have been delayed for a much longer time.

Love the conspiracy theories. Keep em coming! I should give a prize to the person who makes the most ridiculous claim and is convincing in their belief of it. Also, seems pretty common that people assume MS is the publisher and can make demands like not showing a particular version of Titanfall because it'll steal sales from... Titanfall... Rich!

p.s. take it from me, Bluepoint are amazing. I firmly believe there isn't another company out there that could have done better. The delays were necessary to let them work their wizardy, and I assume everyone likes games releasing once done instead of getting pushed out early?

This is listed as a Thief 360 gameplay demo from September last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oENQf20jNIM

Here's some last gen Assassin's Creed before release: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eovDLsELMOQ

COD Ghosts last gen footage before release: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x134m9h_call-of-duty-ghosts-ps3-multijoueur-gameplay_videogames

I'd like to see another example of a title with media that was totally absent like 360 Titanfall! I know a lot of Wii titles got shafted like this, and I remember people begging for PS3 footage for a lot of games before release.

Aren't console sales usually higher than PC due to piracy? I swear I read that is why Rockstar holds off on PC ports for so long. I'll try find a link.

Edit: Ignore that, I can't find a source.

Well watch dogs is coming out in a month and I haven't seen any last gen footage.

As development and focus moves toward the current gen consoles, you'll begin to see less attention being paid to last gen versions of games. And as the next gen versions become the "main" version that gets the majorty of the dev team working on it, you'll begin to see last gen versions disappear or get outsourced.

It was obviously delayed past March so Obamacare could hit 7 million people without having to worry about them spending their money on the 360 version of Titanfall. And they are trying to hide the 360 version further because if you buy it on XB1 (mandatory Kinect) the government can spy on you even more.

The conspiracy theories have existed for months, this is nothing new. Consumers and journalists have repeatedly asked to see the 360 version, but not so much as a screenshot has been shown until today, and even then it didn't come from Respawn.

From the outside looking in, this still looks strange.

Hey man just wanted to say that I was one of the lucky (many) here that you gave a beta code for PC version to. Enjoyed it alot and even though I logged more hours into beta than I have actual full PC game due to work.life.basketball.etc BUT i'm double dipping and buying 360 version tomorrow night on my way home from watching THE University of Kentucky cut down the nets. Keep up the good work and i'll be sure to report back to feller GAFers how it is, don't have a Xbone though so it's PC with controller versus 360.

I obviously have no idea what happened but from a consumer, it is pretty odd that the 360 version of the game has not been shown to anyone or even mentioned until like last week.

Well, how about pushing sales for xbones' version mostly and the xbone console as well?

I believe that the average consumer, who doesn't go into forums such as these would never have known about an Xbox 360 version - so instead titanfall will be name branded on the Xbone, and the 360 version will be more of an afterthought.

Very shady that the 360 was not shown until just today.

Probably EA and Microsoft executives had a phone meeting few weeks ago to push the xbone and the ttfall xbone version.

Also, only those two companies could afford to push the release date a week before release. The discs must have been printed and boxed up to be sent to the distributors for the stores. Probably a day 1 patch

I'll pick up the 360 version if the 30fps seems good. For cheap of course

His point is that MS ain't the publisher and can't decide when the game comes out.

we have no idea what the deal between ms and ea had. ms could have had the final say or could have placed xbox one tf milestones before 360 version released. or they could have failed the game cert. not saying they did any of those, but they could have had any of those.

Peeking in on another stream and wow, Bluepoint did a tremendous job of bringing this to Xbox 360. I had my doubts the game could maintain a solid 30fps, but it seems to play really fluid.

I'm impressed.

Friendly deal reminder to anyone on the fence... If you pre-order from Best Buy (.com + in-store pickup is easiest) you get $10 in Reward Zone gift cards. 20% off stacks as well as if you in Gamers Club, mine will be less than $41 after tax when you figure in GC off future purchase.

That looks extremely jerky (it still looks like that when in a killcam, so it is not the keyboard and mouse adapter).

Lol, it figures that the only extended footage we have of this version is from a guy who uses XIM. That jumpy aim would drive me crazy.

Bluepoint is pretty clever. Any texture not on a titan that you aren't looking at or is a short/decent distance away from you is almost non existent. But when your next to something, it looks decent. It leads to a massive amount of texture pop-in but probably improves performance quite a bit.

It looks worse than say cod for the 360. But given the fact that there is so much going on in titanfall, it's pretty cool to see all the ways they got the game running at an acceptable framerate.

Guy on the stream just said that anyone watching is doing so in 540p.

Hate to say it, but I'm thinking of double-dipping on 360 as the game doesn't run very well on my PC. But $60 is better than buying a new computer.

I just wish I knew if this version would get support in the form of a Season Pass...
