Amazon have always sent some stuff our way, mostly books originally. Games seem to be part of their posting list now!

US Amazon sends stuff out too sometimes. A few people on here got their PS4's from Amazon at launch!

They should put a clock in a bus so the driver knows what time he is meant to come and go! That would solve the issue. If the driver does not obey his clock master he gets fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.

Given most of the buses are on those smart thingoes, they should also have it communicate wirelessly (since that's where a lot of the wireless things are from memory) and have a big red and green light telling the guy when to go. Because having a clock requires thought.

I assume the smash repair said tough luck? Hassle your insurance, need be say you left some personal stuff in there or something. Though I have a feeling it may have been "removed" already if it was any good.

Sort of. The stereo was worth more than the car nowadays (not once upon a time, but alas). They towed the car from the smash repairers to the wreckers without my consent, and I clearly told them I needed to remove it when I dropped it off at the smash repairers.

When the assessor called me, he told me it was market value based on the book, but the claims person told me that the aftermarket stereo is 'part of the car'. So, as far as I'm concerned they pay me market value for the stereo (good luck finding that), or it's not actually worth anything, so let me remove it and put in the original one (which I still have). I asked them to tow it back to the smash repairers at their cost since I never agreed to let them take it.

I'm probably boned anyway.

Oh yeah, they mentioned they *might* allow me some "viewing time" at the wreckers to remove the stuff myself, meaning I have to do a round trip of 50+km and bring all the tools I might need AND find room in the existing car AND take a day off work to do it.

One would think so! But it's an insurance company, so I guess that can do whatever the fuck they want. No injuries from the accident, so whatever I guess.

I bought the stereo so long ago I'll just be shitty if I can't recover it, and not livid, so we'll see how things play out.

I remember writing off a car and finding out where the insurance company took it in order to get a bunch of cds etc out of it. Can you do similar?

Did any of you cats play WoW? I've never touched it and I kinda feel like going on a photojournalist tour of Azeroth. Any advice for classes and stuff that might have advantages in terms of getting to weird locations to take good shots of the world?

Though probably won't get anywhere far... trial only goes to Lvl 20. Don't think you can even get a mount at that point, right?

When a car is written off, the insurer has salvage rights. Accessories are generally not covered over a certain value (this caries, but it's generally very little, like $100–200 or something). If they claim it is "part of the car", then they're saying it's insured like the rest of the vehicle and it therefore goes above the market value.

The insurer must see you back to the financial state you were in before the accident occurred, no more, no less, so whatever they're doing with the car (replace or reimburse), they must do with the stereo also. Whatever resource they use to determine the value—if it's the red book, then fuck these guys, red book is horseshit—it will not contain the price of your stereo.

If the back-pedal on this, and they surely will, then they don't have salvage rights on the stereo and must return it to you. Either way, it is on them to do the right thing here. No "might" or fucking "maybe" about it or making you do running around because they screwed up.

I haven't played WoW for a while now, but I have experienced the current expansion. You get your first slow-arse ground mount at level 20. A trial account is quite limited in what it can do, I forget how much it is now, but last I heard it was pretty severe.

Best bet is to jump on a server with an active player who has a two-person flying mount and get them to taxi you around to wherever you want to go.

Just looked on the Blizzard store and it looks like they've made the game up until Mists of Pandaria only cost $25 and include 30 days game time. If you decide to take this path, someone you know might like to have (and help you with) the Recruit-a-Friend bonus. If you level together, you get triple XP and can summon the other to wherever you are. Bonuses last for 90 days, which is plenty of time to smash through a whole bunch of levels.

I'd say it'd almost guarantee you wouldn't. It'd be more likely they'd have older stock (despite the device not actually being that old). Shipping times would account for that.

Despite the extra $50, I'll be getting mine from Telstra if it's within the next few weeks. Doesn't look like you get local Sony warranty via Kogan, just Kogan's own.

PS. That Heartbleed shit is scary stuff, yo.
