I took that as him being so powerful he trained back his skills. Iunno, I don't really expect Rogue or Mystique to get their powers back unless it's an intentional plot point.
Rogue is obviously freed but Mystique might be dead

I've seen the X-Men movies as they came out, but none of the Wolverine movies, and am trying to put together a viewing order for my son and I to watch between now and when DoFP comes out.

I'm thinking:
-X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
-X-Men: First Class (2011)
-X-Men (2000)
-X2: X-Men United (2003)
-X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
-The Wolverine (2013)

Thoughts?

X1
X2
X3
Origins if you really want to see everything no matter how bad it is
Wolverine
FC

Why? Explanation ->

- X1-3 arc introduces characters etc
- Two standalone movies that have almost (99.9%) nothing to do with DoFP so you better get them out of the way now
- FC which is DoFP's "prequel" of sorts and also introduces the main cast of DoFP

90s X-Men will always reign supreme.

X-Men Evolution was the superior series.

X-Men Evolution was the superior series.

Evolution was generally better written, and it certainly had a better Wolverine (probably the best). But the whole teenager thing was just way, way, way too on-the-nose. It felt like the easy thing to do. Having Scott/Jean/Storm/Logan as teachers, sure, that'd be a bit better. But this ain't a Greg Weisman show - the writing for most of the kids was pretty shallow.

there was a male mystique? I never knew that...

The show made up a shapeshifter named Morph who was on the team for like the first 2 episodes, only to get him killed. Then a season or two later, they brought him back all vengeful and crazy. Plus he had the Spider-Man 3 Peter Parker hair.

Evolution Kurt is my favorite X-Men character of all time. Absolutely nailed it.

Dead...? I have not gotten that read from the series at all... She was alive and she blew magneto's cover after he betrayed her in X3 after she befell to the cure.
Like the comic story, a handful of previous X-men are dead. Beast and Angel are known movie deaths.

nope sorry. If there was anything the 90s show got right, it was Cathal Dodd's Wolverine. He's unbeatable. Steve Blum does a passable imitation though.

technically he was created in the 60s. And he had appearances throughout the show's run.

He has a nice quality to his voice but his character was obnoxious. The way he's written, he has two modes - mopey, and "GRRR I'M GONNA SLICE YA". Nothing in-between. Evolution's Wolverine was a lone wolf and had his own issues, but he never let it drag down or overly affect his performance as a team member. He never hogged the spotlight. He was tighter with Xavier and went out on cool solo missions for the team, not "just cause he's so tortured and alone..." He was a capable strategist and knew just how to handle himself in a fight, while still being able to teach the kids how to do the same. His best moves weren't just "growl and lunge."

Why does Wolverine get so many movies?

:(

He was a fan favorite before the film franchise began, and his popularity along with Jackman's skyrocketed afterward among the general public.

But yea, as much as I love Jackman's Wolverine I'm ready for the X-Men film universe to open up beyond him.

Because people like Hugh Jackman and Hugh Jackman likes Wolverine. He was even a producer on the 2 solo movies.

I'm sure Cyclops wouldn't have been erased if Singer hadn't left to do Superman Returns. Alan Cumming couldn't (or wouldn't?) reprise Nightcrawler for whatever reason. He did the videogame though.

Don't get me wrong, I like Wolverine. And I really love how Hugh Jackman loves the Wolverine character and wants him to be awesome and in awesome things too. Its really refreshing to see a celebrity care.

But geez, that trailer.

Wolverine was in like every f**king scene. Is this a sequel to First Class or a sequel to one of Wolverine's other 5 movies?
