If you have to do a grounded Ridley I'll certainly take a pose like that over anything bipedal. He should slink, and stalk, and pounce, and generally be as inhuman as possible.
So, like a xenomorph.

there will be no online leaderboards because i feel bad for the guy in 20000th place
i mean is it really fair to that person when someone else is in 1st place
that's no fun

is gamebattles even still a thing
If anything, For Glory mode should have stage configurations based on the most popular "neutral" stages through the games.
I'd say:
Dreamland 64
Yoshi's Story
Smashville
Battlefield
Final Destination
Would be a great group. I'd love to hear more arguments or suggestions though from people in the know.
Watching the tourney earlier reminded me of another way that the "For Glory" mode is flawed by only offering Final Destination. Sure, the addition and arrangement of platforms affects play, but so too does the ceiling height as well as how quickly you die off the sides. And not only that, but the ledges on each side and how the bottom part of the level drops off. Every little thing about the levels matters to a character, and FD just isn't one-size-fits-all.
I really hope Sakurai reconsiders.

I'd hope that with Namco helping out, there'll be post-release support for the game. That way, Battlefield can be included into the stage rotation or whatever mechanism decides the stages online if it isn't in For Glory at launch.
I wonder if Marth will speak English now that Shadow Dragon got a western release.
Ideally the For Glory settings will be server side, so they can easily change over time to adapt to what the community wants. Neutrals, stock count, and time limits will most likely change over time, so yeah.
Oh, who am I kidding.

Marth will be Japanese forever, he didn't have an actual VA in Shadow Dragon IIRC
If Hyrule temple was in...For example, any stage that follows the rules can get in:
1. No damaging elements.
2. No scrolling.
3. No walk-offs.
There's an easy solution, just use Lucina's voice actor again /s
In Japan did Lucina and Marth have the same VA?

I'm not in the know by any means, but I've been thinking a bit and here's my idea for the Wii U version. This is only based on what we know so far and assumes the mentioned stages will be competitive. This may be reaching a bit but here goes.
When selecting For Glory, players will be matched up and two stages will appear: one randomly-selected neutral and one randomly-selected counterpick.
Neutrals
FD (random theme)
Battlefield
Town and City
Counterpicks
Pyrosphere
Skyloft
Windy Hill Zone
Pilot Wings
Halberd
The players will then be able to cast a vote for the counterpick (blindly, so a player will not be able to see if the other votes until time expires). If both players vote for the counterpick, then that stage will be played. Otherwise, the neutral will be played. This is in place to occasionally add a bit more variety to matches, but only if both players agree. The voting period would be extremely quick, probably around 5-10 seconds, because ain't nobody got time for dat.
Launch period For Glory settings: Stock (not time sakurai pls), 3 Stock, 6 minutes. I'd say it's better to start with a lower number of stocks in case the game turns out to be slower than anticipated. The stock count and time limit could always be bumped up post-release if the community wants it.
I'm mulling around other possible ideas for counterpicks in my head. Stuff like being able to select a specific counterpick to bring into matchmaking, and perhaps different voting systems, etc... There's a lot of possibilities. Maybe both players can bring a counterpick into the game, but have to vote for a generic "counterpick" option that will randomly select between both players' chosen counterpicks to play. A player could get screwed if the other counterpick is selected, but they could simply not vote at all to ensure that the neutral is played. Hmmm
Probably way too complicated but it's fun to think about. I'd love for something to be done with counterpicks. It's an interesting facet of competitive play.
No. Lucina's JP VA is Yū Kobayashi. Marth's is Hikaru Midorikawa.
Though... (FE:A Spoilers)
Sounds great, except for one thing...
Pyrosphere will be #banned because of Boss Ridley's appearance.
thought you were not expecting the leak to be the final roster? That's it for newcomer roster. Yep, that's how low my expectation is.
WiiFit Trainer is probably less obscure than all three of those characters.
To be fair, nobody was asking for her though lol. And Ridley is in, just as a boss. Ganon is dorf's final smash.
Other M ridley being the one that was chosen to be playable.
I hate to be that guy, but come on. Ridley is too big. It's common sense.
Oh man, you're right. I was just looking at the stage screenshots on IGN and Pyrosphere looked pretty okay to me.
I hope no other potential neutrals/counterpicks are ruined because of a boss encounterassuming ridley is a boss and not a playable character #believe
I'm disappointed the Wily Stage has the yellow devil. I really like the look of the stage, but I probably won't play it that much.
You can probably turn on/off bosses
I heard someone suggest that the ridley Sage hazard was not done and that's the reasion he did not show him, But should sakurai and his team be past that stage at this point?
I don't really see how bosses are that big an issue. For me anyway.

Was Halberd legal in Brawl? Or Delfino?
Then try and get the final blow and try to avoid it while it's around?Imagine if you want to have a 1 on 1 fight with no random elements, the boss impacts the fight, can hurt the players, and can kill one if for whoever gets the final blow
I wasn't making an argument... I swear folks take a philosophy 101 class and throw that word around without even understanding its contextual use. It is getting to be as bad as the misuses of literally.
Then try and get the final blow and try to avoid it while it's around?
Though I guess if everything else is turned off that should be an option too.
And then Peach plucks a Bob-Omb and ends you at 50%Imagine if you want to have a 1 on 1 fight with no random elements, the boss impacts the fight, can hurt the players, and can kill one if for whoever gets the final blow

I never understood why Peach with all her random elements never was banned from competitive where random stuff supposedly isn't welcome
I'm expecting 0, but 1 or 2 more at the most. 12 newcomers is a reasonable amount, especially with how some veterans are basically newcomers at this point.
I have to disagree. He's probably at least in the glitch and balance testing stage,Him not being shown was almost certainly to build up hype.if he's not playable.
They're basically another version of the Smash Ball. Whoever finishes it off gains an incredibly powerful attack. I mean, don't get me wrong, sometimes I like playing with the Smash Balls on. But sometimes I don't.

I'll gladly trade Ridley for 5 more characters with movesets as unique as the newcomers so far.
