Looks like all digital PSP / PSone games work on Vita now [Not Anymore]

I wish the download list on Vita only showed Vita compatible software. Searching through endless amounts of PS3 games and DLC looking for this stuff is a chore.

Edit: I also wish it would take me back to the same spot on the list.

So who's gonna start the LTTP: Phantasy Star Portable 2 thread? I never finished the game, so I'm in for some fun portable online rpg action. :)

Sad thing is that its better on the Vita than it is on the PS3. At least it doesn't chug like all hell and you can just hold down on the d-pad and you can easily tell whats PS3 and whats Vita.

Seriously they really need to fix up downloading old content across the board.

I think the Vita could easily manhandle PS2 game emulation

Maybe a select few. Neither the PS3 (I'm pretty sure the number of fully software emulated titles is under 50) nor even average modern gaming PCs can emulate all PS2 titles (nor does it look probable in the next couple of years) so the Vita isn't even in the ballpark. Maybe whatever handheld follows the Vita. Emulation requires much more power than running ports (even the PSP could run full ports of spritebased PS2 games pretty much perfectly).

Oh man this is a trip down memory lane. Hot Shots Shorties? Man I had so much fun intentionally drilling the pitcher, then knocking his "fuck you" pitch out of the park.

That is the point of the thread. It appears to be either a glitch or something that wasn't supposed to be available yet. A bunch of games are now downloadable to Vita that before tonight required a ps3 or were unable to be played on a Vita at all.

Of course a bunch of us ended up buying games that have been available just because. :)

I think that is the case due to the store either not fully updating (as this is going to be one of the Vita's biggest store updates since its launch) or due to how this is a glich (though that possibility is thrown out the window considering how cool Sony is with this news; Yosip even gave tips on how to make Spyro 1 play better on Vita :l).

I'm so confused. Why are people talking about the PS2 version of the Sega Genesis Collection? Unless you mean the PSP version and just posted a picture of the PS2 version's box art.

This was available to play on Vita before today. I've had it on my Vita for months...

Dunno. Couldn't find it on PSN from my Vita, and the website only listed it as PS3/PSP.

Edit: US PSN account, FWIW. I don't have a PS3 to to the transfer stuff, either

People are either using the PS2 game as refrence to the PSP version or are making an honist mistake :). The odd thing is that the PSP Genesis Collection has always work on Vita, you just had to transfer it from your PS3 :l. At least people can download it to their Vita's now without dealing with the PS3 :).

Well goddamn.
Tempted to sell off the rest of my UMDs and get a Vita right the hell now.

I'm curious though. Is there a way to access my Japanese games off of my US PSN account? I have a handful of JP PSone classics like the Adventures of Little Ralph and Dezeamon Kids. I heard that the Vita only allows for one account. So can I only access my US or JP games, and not both?

You have to reformat the Vita and put in a different memory card to switch accounts.

I spent this evening playing some PSP2 and then some Portable Ops. I am so happy that I can finally put away my PSP Go. The Go meant that I missed out on some software that was only available physically at the time, but holy shit is it paying off now. So much PSP stuff to enjoy on Vita.

Sadly, the Vita can only accept one PSN account at a time, so if you want to play your JP PSN tittles, you have to log into your JP account and vice versa. The thing is though, you have to format your Memory Cards to the accounts (so you can't have a MC have games form both accounts one it; it is one or the other :l). If you are talking about JP PS1 Classics that are imports like the JP PS1 versions of Mega Man 1-4 or Tomba 2, then if you got them from your US account, you can use your US account on that :).

The Vita isn't like the PS3/PS4 where you can rock with multiple PSN accounts at the same time.

With the Vita, a memory card is tied to a specific PSN account. So there are hoops you can jump through to have US and JP games on separate cards. It's not simply swapping memory cards over, but other steps as well. (I can't recall what they are, but they were always too much of a ball ache for me to bother with)

$10 for 28 genesis games is awesome.

The only thing that is still not compatible with Vita is the final chapter download for Killzone: Liberation. If I recall it was not a typical store download, but one that you had to install via folders in a memory stick. I wish they would put it on the store as it has important stuff and KZL has been compatible on Vita for a long time.

Took them 2 freaking years to do this.
They need to get the FF iphone remakes up on the store now and Vita is saved.

This is a good day for Vita owners, this shit literally fell out of the sky and into our laps..... lol

FF can't save Square and it certainly won't save the Vita

Sony can't force Square to do anything. I imagine some of this stuff ends up in licensing and contract hell.

I don't usually carry on about such things, but Crash Bandicoot looks wonderful on this OLED screen. Still vibrant after all these years.

yep Valkyria Chronicles 2 in my download list as well as all the Spyro games that were given on PS+ years ago.

I still wish all the huge PSP games were up on PSN :(
I wanna play MGS Ac!d

While having the PS1 classics now are great, I'm so happy to have the PSP games on my Vita that were not available, especially MotorStorm: Arctic Edge and Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake.

Where would you put Arctic Edge in the pantheon of Motorstorm games? I'm a big Pacific Rift fan.

GAF detectives, we all have to be wondering...

Why now? Is it the 2000 model?

I have a suspicion that this was supposed to have a grand reveal. I mean, we were told last week that there would be great stuff coming for PlayStation soon (PS4 FW, this, etc.). The only reason I think this was revealed early is because you can only access the stuff via download lists. However, on the PSN Web Store, it clearly shows, once you find the games, that they can be downloaded to Vita. I bet all the PSP content is eventually supposed to show up natively on the Vita PSN Store.
