If that is the case, that would be fucking stupid. Should be the same for all classes.
Not really. Some items are more likely to drop for a certain class despite being equippable for any class.

An example is Sash of Knives. It can be equipped by a Monk but as a drop it's far more common to see it drop for a DH than a Monk.

Of course nothing is absolute in this game. I can be playing Monk and a Barb class set can drop for me (actually I was playing a Monk and a DH set dropped for me which resulted in me trying out a DH after while I got a slew of good DH items so I stuck with the class for a bit). It's all about the weighted RNG in the game and it definitely does have weighted RNG (or I guess Blizzard refers to this as Smart drops).

I asked 5 people I knew who got Witching Hour and they said Wizard/WD as well (4 Wizards one Witch Doctor not including the posts here).

My guess is that the item is more likely to drop for an Intel class, more specifically for Wizards. Anecdotal evidence but I gambled for Belts for a week (10K shards) and got every belt at least once except Witching Hour. I used a DH though so maybe if I tried with Wizard I would've gotten it by now.

Got one from Kadala this morning for my Monk.

Lately every rift I do has god damn ghosts flying around revenants flying around like assholes.

I hate the enemies that fly around and don't fight in this game.

I have a bunch of blacksmith recipes that require fiery brimstones or forgotten souls but I've barely ever seen them drop. Is there a greater chance of finding them somewhere or is it a one in a million drop?

Those are from salvaging Legendary items. Well, Forgotten Souls also drop from Rift Guardians in Nephalem Rifts.

fiery brimstone comes from salvaging level 60 legendary items and forgotten souls come from level 61-70 legendary items

forgotten souls do drop from rift guardians, though.

Lmao looking at your equipment makes me so sad, because I was a sheet dps obsessed scrub when I got both that flail and that shield, and I trashed them :|

Mostly because I was trying to get sockets on a 2700 dps two hander but also partly because they were some of my earlier legs at 70 so my dps was like ~300k when I found them and I was looking for things that weren't lowering those already low numbers lol.

Though the shield rolled horribly.

after hundreds of rifts, scy and i finally have found the lord of bells. thank you rngesus, for the 10 achievement points.

godbless us

rift #912 is lucky rift

Just found a blade of prophecy.
2.67k dps with cooldown reduce
no str
no socket

:(

As long as one of the other rolls was something to increase damage (vs Elite, IAS%, Damage%), you're fine with no main stat and rolling a socket that way. The one I linked earlier is best served rolling the STR to socket, for instance. This is especially true if it rolled native Holy Damage.

No main stat isn't the end of the world.

Just found my 3rd Marauder piece (Gloves).

At first I was like "Fuck yes I am IN THERE!"

Then it rolled without any crit and only attack speed. Useless for my build essentially... probably not that good for any other build. Really sad now...

Day 3 tasker gambling. 3 more pairs of magefist (7 total) but at least they were near perfect trifecta. Also about 3 more pairs or archews and Glads. Decided to take a break from gloves and try my luck for a witching hour.

So I got the witch doctor ring that makes zombie dogs turn into one super zombie dog, is it any good? What is the benefit? And how does it work with Passive and runes and such? Like if you have the passive that increases the number of dogs by 1, does that make the super dog more powerful

How good is the tal rasha 4 piece set bonus? Just found my third piece

Its pretty bland. Its just your normal meteor spell, but the tal rasha set really clashes with the current gear design by forcing you to spread your elements out instead of focus on one. If it gave better benefits to using multiple elements, maybe 15-20 per cent to each instead of 5, and something to maybe maybe elemental exposure better, it could be a neat team play set for increasing everyone's damage, but its pretty lack luster as is. All the wizards sets kinda are.

Last night I was running torment VI rifts. With normal mobs, I can get to the rift boss in 20-25 minutes. However, 2 rifts in a row I ran into maps filled with these guys.

I'm not even sure what you're really supposed to do in this situation. I think I'm going to stick with torment V in the meantime.

Angels are honestly the worst mob type.
Even surpasses the stupid goatmen shaman with their stupid shields.

Their damage mitigation does NOT go away for a long time. It would have been interesting if they changed their shield after getting hit by a different element but nope. You've gotta wait like a minute before it drops.

THANK YOU BASED KADALA.

Took between 1.5k and 2k blood shards. That is a lot of toughness to lose, though, and I already die often if I'm not careful.

Re roll to one of my skills or go for VIT or Life % ?

1.5-2k? I'd be ecstatic if that's all it took me.

This is all I'm spending my shards on until I get one.

The dmg from the belt is plenty enough. I'd reroll the last stat for toughness.

Thanks. Just using two pieces right now to get the extra 5% elemental damage. I'm running all fire gear right now

Went to Fry's Electronics today and saw the Collector's Edition and thought "This would be awesome if I didn't already spend $60 on the Digital Collector's Edition."

Need to get back into this, notably to do this on HC mode and level everyone up.

Had bad legendary from the past few days. Then, on my last rift last night, a legendary ring dropped from the rift guardian. I expected it to be shit as always..turns out, it's a fucking Stone of Jordan! What more, or came it really awesome rolls.

+20% lightning damage
+400 or so Int
+6% crit chance
+29% damage to elite

This is basically BiS for my build... I just needed to reroll the element to fire. After about 10 tries... Got a +16% fire damage. Oh well, not the best... But at least it's fire. I'll work on the reroll later... But damn... So pumped after getting this drop.

I know it's your current build and the resulting ring is still a solid ring, but I feel like, as a general rule, things like perfect - 1 affix SoJs, Andys, leg bracers, and leg amulets should pretty much never have their element rerolled. Shoot for the perfect SoJ, (i.e. int for cd- which is straight up better and can be used across all of your classes who use the element) and put it aside if you aren't using its current element.

Didn't want to rain on your parade; just a tip I'd throw out for any who come across these in the future.

I completely disagree with this, there's no reason not to reroll that ring, it has everything you want on it apart from the correct element, which he fixed. I'd instantly re-roll it and never have to worry about a ring on my main again.

Except for a better SoJ.

It really depends on the situation. If your current ring is comparable enough, I'd just make it actually perfect personally.

It's one reroll off (assuming one commits the resources necessary to bring it up to 50% cd- and with a ring like this, it sure as hell is worth it) being literally 1% elite dmg off a perfect lightning SoJ usable by all classes. Changing the element makes it a subpar fire ring usable by 2 classes. In the long run, treating rings like this with the former approach will make getting that near fully optimized final kit much easier. Like I said, I still think it's a fine ring; it just kills the min maxer in me.

If you go the fire route I'd definitely get fire damage on your bracers and try and gamble a Magefist (they aren't too hard to get from Kadala). You'll also want an amulet with fire damage, dex, CC and CD, but don't gamble for amulets (they're a ripoff).

And of course try and gamble a Cindercoat on a lvl 70 monk.

Your boots aren't doing too much for you right now so you might as well craft Ashera's to go with your pants and get the +100 resist. Do you have a Ring of Royal Grandeur yet?

Thanks for the reply. I have been trying to get a Magefist and Cindercoat for a while now. I will keep trying.

I do have a RoRG. I have two, neither rolled that great but for the legendary text it might be worth taking the loss on them.

I don't know what sort of luck you guys have, but a ring like that is a once in a lifetime drop for me. If you're the type of person that gets multiple near perfect SoJs then sure, wait it out, but most people aren't in that position. I'd rather have an amazing upgrade on my main than a super amazing upgrade on my alt.

Speaking of, more Jengaboards.

I need to group with more Crusaders, I guess.

As long as they switch Laws.

I'm looking for a better Jekangboard. My current one has high rolls in its stats, but could use the 6 bounce affix and, ideally, AR instead of vit and bs dmg instead of punish dmg. Can't run t5, though, and I'm not sure if I can run t4 efficiently.

I sincerely doubt I will ever see a ring that good. It doesn't need to be an alt's gear, though; look at it as the first piece of an offspec set encouraging you to change elements down the road. And the problem is its not near perfect after the reroll- cd is considerably better than int in the current state of the game. I wasn't saying dump the int just for other class viability sake; I was saying dump it to make the ring literally perfect -1% elite dmg in rolls.

Having the ability to do that is insane. The likelihood of anyone getting a piece of gear that close to perfection is basically none. I've never gotten that close on a piece of mine.

My first SoJ was a 20% Physical one. I could have rerolled it to Holy but then it'd just be a temporary upgrade for me. I just waited until something fairly mediocre. I've seen all of two STR SoJs so it's been awhile.

It's more just that if I have something that can become actual best-in slot for a build, I'll probably seriously consider making it actual best-in slot then. Even if it means having to sit on it for awhile.

T4 is pretty much my normal spot, though T3 at times when we're too lazy to switch back up. A better Gyrfalcon's / 6pc Akkhan will probably get it to T5/T6 though.

I just keep getting repeat drops.

I pretty much need a trifecta Magefist, a Witching Hour and a Pride's Fall to push into T5/T6 territory. I can do T5 right now but it's not that efficient (18-20 minutes to get to Rift Guardian if I don't die a lot). I can also attempt to craft an Archfiend Quiver and hope for Cluster Arrow damage + good rolls on it.

2 of those items aren't that hard to acquire... tried for Witching Hour for a week and didn't have the luck but now I will focus on getting Magefist and Pride's Fall first.

I keep getting legs that I can't really use with perfect +%elemental damage rolls thus using up all of my future luck.

Come on, D3, I'm just a lowly monk that needs some love.

How does it work?

as a low paragon player, I join party, kill the rift guardian, open their next rift, leave, rinse and repeat

it's usually lowest players in the party open the rift.

(a player clears up to the RD then announces to the rift it forward channel that they're looking for x amount of players, lowest paragon level opens next rift)

Actually would I even want the bs 15% over 11% additional block- which is effectively extra bs dmg as well? Guess I could go for str/block%/cc/bs dmg% and leave out ar/vit. Any other spec and Defender of Westmarch would be the easy choice, but we can't all have 5 affixes unfortunately.

I've just come to accept that I don't even care for Block% on a Shield. If it's there and I still have the other stats I want, okay great. If it's not there but I can roll the shield decently still? I'll take it every time.

There's not many people running T4+ rifts. T3 just bore me with my crusader since I'm always running ahead. :/

I'm pretty much always doing just T3/T4. Probably should do T5 instead at some point but eh.
