I'm not going to bother stating the obvious features that I'm looking forward to but reading the blog it's good that the FW team are responding to peoples requests and at least hinting that certain popular features like themes etc should be coming in the future.

I really hope a fix for the video clip recording is wrapped up in the sharing additions. All of these sharing improvements are completely useless if it isn't properly recording the last 15 minutes of gameplay at all times.

I basically stopped using it because of this.

Hopefully, I recorded four battlefield videos last night and only one of them was what I actually intended to record. Lost so many BF moments because of this six month old glitch

Yeah I just don't get it. Was there last gen. It's there on the vita. It's convenient and makes the online experience feel more alive. I don't get why it's not there yet. Baffled actually.

Hits the server maybe? Maybe the checking or pushing of the notification takes up internet resources. Dunno, but that does sound logical.

New DUALSHOCK 4 Options: New light bar settings have been added for DUALSHOCK 4, allowing you to change it to Bright, Medium or Dim in the Settings menu.

For Christ's sake Sony, why is it so hard to simply include an option for us to turn the light bar off? Even Nintendo gives us the option to disable the screen on the WiiU gamepad, not even Microsoft forces us to use something(Kinect) if we don't want it.

He says he's done hyping the updates, because he knows the most requested features (not in this update) exist internally at Sony. Maybe they will do a massive E3 firmware reveal.

They would have to release 1.8 and 1.9 first. I don't think they typically skip firmwares like that.

Like said above, all the video stuff is useless until recording is fixed. Hopefully that's done this update.

After that, it's Youtube and Game Suspend that need to be top priorities.

its a good thing i didnt buy these consoles at launch, i dont have the patience to wait around for basic features without moaning about them everyday. sony need to get their shit together though regarding updates, this is first major one since launch and its been 6 damn months

Little features are all fluff. Games are still the important thing. If I held out, I'd have missed out on 6 months of great games that I've been playing.

Sony mess around with firmware all the time, like 3.73 to 4.0 or 3.15 to 3.21 on PS3.

Depends what you think of as priority and basic functions. I don't see any of those as necessary, but considering how much I have used share, I do see improvements and a video editor rather important. People have different priorities.

Maybe they are in the testing phases. I would say they are working on them and maybe some are complete already and are holding off for some odd reason. I'd rather wait and get a polished feature set implemented rather than a quick and dirty feature thats been thrown together without thorough testing. I assume they have a roadmap of features that will be added down the line and they prioritise accordingly. Not sure what determines the priority of wanted features though, so on that one I'm in the same boat as you.
