Oh sweet, we can import tracks from a USB. That's an ok compromise, so I'm game. I've got some good metal gear rage quits to share.

In an hour and 30 minutes is the best estimation we have, based on previous PlayStation firmware updates.

Not sure where you're basing that on. The PS4 updates I've seen usually release at 1 AM PT

1.60 dropped at 1 AM - https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/430627007513120768

Me testing 1.52 with Pulse headset compatibility at 1:26 AM - https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/410702207965597698

1.51 out at around 2:12 AM - http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=90587489&postcount=215

I think he's upset because he says a lot of features are working in-office, but were not included in the 1.7 update.

Well he should chill, because that's not how software development works. You don't just roll everything into a package and deploy it.

Would be a safe bet to say that the "missing" features that work in-house at Sony are probably part of different builds than the one being pushed. Those builds are probably scheduled to merge into the prod branch (the firmware we use) at a later point in the roadmap.

Very little in this update that interests me personally. I'm fine with the basic video trimming and sharing tools we already have (as long as they fix the recording bug), I really have no need for editing clips together, adding VOs and all that. Exporting to USB will be nice though. And I guess I will dim the lightbar now that we're allowed. It doesn't really bother me much as is, but dimmer will be better for sure, and if it can get me some extra battery life that's cool. HD streaming and archiving is also a good thing to have, although I very rarely use it.

Exactly.

I am actually glad that they are taking their time with QA. They did rush 1.50 for launch and that had consequences, as we all know.

I said PlayStation updates, not PS4 specifically. I was unaware it was different for PS4, since for PS Vita and PS3 from what I remember it was usually between 2 to 4 AM GMT. Sorry about that.

Avatars were already custom with Facebook integration, I don't really see why it's a big deal personally.

One feature people are overlooking though is the ability to send a personalized link to have people add you as friends. You give your link out, it points to a page where people can login to SEN and accept the request right there. It displays your real name though, so it's intended for real life friends

With the new update for your PlayStation app, you can set any your photo as your PSN icon :) http://t.co/P48TSqeQbf http://t.co/Du8EL8034k

Holy Megaton. This is massive news. Custom avatars... Just... Wow.

I've been doing that since launch. Create a dummy Facebook account, upload whatever picture you want as your profile picture, voila. This just makes it easier and removes the need to use Facebook.

I just wish we could use them as our avatar rather than just our personal picture that only people who have real name requested you can see.

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?

Yeah but that requires you to accept name requests. I think this is for everything?

EDIT : I don't know. I don't think so anymore. Whatever. False alarm. I'll go stand in a corner now.

1. Some of us have absolutely zero interest in attaching our Facebook accounts (some probably don't even have one) to our PSN account...

2. I doubt everyone's idea of "custom" is importing their Facebook profile picture...

Use a dummy Facebook account

PS App just makes it easier, that's all there is

Actually, I'm surprised Sony didn't just bake this in the OS itself and drive a few more PS Camera sales
