Do I win a prize for talking about my penis on the Internet???
Rebranded Wii U.

Its now just called 'Nintendo U', price dropped, redesigned exterior, and features...AN ETHERNET PORT.

It can be... and not because of the sources or rumors but because of the phrase "This is the one you've been waiting for" that Nintendo wrote on their official E3 announcement... It can be either a redesigned Gamepad or a new 3DS model to join the line-up. Either way, HYPE!

The Nintendo Wii Them, coming this holiday.

"The Wii Them is not an add-on/accessory to the Wii U!"

"So it's for the Wii?"

Nintendo. KILL the Wii name. Seriously.

edit: Please rebrand the Wii U, give it a price drop, drop the gamepad and next time make a more powerful console to compete with Sony and Microsoft.

You're wrong BlueRays aren't big enough , they will use HVD, no doubt.
Nah, only Hyper CD-ROM will do, holds up to 1 Petabyte. Just enough for the cutscenes and audio in Metal Gear Solid 6. ;)

Damn, I'm getting WUST feelings here.

Something that failed to flush down the toilet after one flush told me that its gotta be a new console....

Lets start specing!!

  • 12-Core AMD APU w/ 7970 Graphics
  • 12 GB GDDR5 Memory w/ 210 GB/s
  • 1 TB Hybrid Storage with 32 GB SSD
  • 802.11ac Wireless + BT4.0 + 100/1000 Gbps Ethernet
  • 8x BluRay Drive
  • Backwards Compatibilty to for Wii and WiiU

Wii U 2 only real 4k console this gen confirmed.

My sources tell me it's a bulkier version of the Wii U. Nintendo's putting a whole lot of stock behind the "size matters" philosophy as far as the console war is concerned. They're confident that's what's giving the Sony the edge.

They're also planning on charging about 100 bucks more. My sources tell me that price cuts are soo last gen.

It'll be a new 3DS, or a slimmer, cheaper Wii U. Maybe both.

1) They may not need GDDR5. DDR4 is around the corner. Also the 3D Graphics memory will provide better density. But will be awesome if they switch to AMD and use Mantle API.
2) Also they could use ARM based cores. AMD already has test chips based on Cortex-A57.

Single Core A53 + AMD GCN: Next DS
16 Core A57 + AMD GCN: Wii-2-U

Use the same OS, dev kit, tools lib for both. Making all portable games playable on home console.

I love the tablet controller because it lets me play console games like I would a handheld.

My prediction: An adapter that lets you play 3DS games on your Wii U a la Super Gameboy

Well, for Wii U they issued a message due to the many leaks that were floating around. For 3DS I don't remember what they did, but for Nintendo Revolution there was a short message.

The Fiscal Year Earnings Release (FY 2013) is on May 7 with investor presentation the day after. If they are indeed going to show new hardware at E3, most likely will they say so there.
They issued a message about the 3DS too when a bunch of the leaks started coming around, if I recall correctly.

Dropping the Wii U in favor of a Wii 3 would be suicide for their future prospects in the console market.

It's either going to be a new SKU or a peripheral.
Reasons? It's not like all 3rd parties are having a blast developing games for the WiiU and public aware about the system is minimal. (And I'm talking about the public not the dedicated fanbase that popullate the forums)

Yeah...I don't think so.

If anything this is relating to that html code in the E3 site that was removed, aka the usual

GAF>Internet>GAF

Hardware isn't something that can be made that quickly.

How is this a rumor? Didn't Nintendo confirm months ago that this QOL platform would be shown at E3?
Not that I know of. They mentioned it will launch in CY 2015, but that's about it.

I already see it...E3 comes...Nintendo's E3 Stream is on and then it happens...they reveal Fucking Donkey Kong branded Wii U.

Showing new hardware without a press conference? Maybe the QOL stuff or some sort of rebranded and more powerful WiiU?

Imagine if Nintendo counter punched with a machine stronger than ps4 that also told you when you're getting fat?

The bolded scares me because the tiny bit I know of computer architecture does not make it seem like the WiiU architecture is the best thing to be stuck with long-term.

I don't think it means they are stuck with the Wii U architecture and its limitations. I think it just means all the stuff they produce for Wii U will be forward compatible.

If anything, the move to a unified cross-platform architecture means they'll never be "stuck with" anything long-term ever again. They could theoretically release iPhone-like yearly hardware updates. It'd be a constantly-evolving platform, instead of a "refresh every six years" platform.

A new SKU doesn't make a whole lot of sense if they heard stuff from third parties. Third parties generally don't (need to) know about simple SKU refreshes or redesigns.

If third parties are leaking things then it suggests something that involves developer engagement. i.e. a new platform or peripheral.

Any replacement for WiiU or 3ds right now would be suicide. They dropped support for the Wii very early if they do the same with the WiiU... I don't know, I think that at some point even their core user base won't take it anymore.

It has to be a revision or something that won't affect the other two platforms directly.

Only thing I can guess is its a Wii U revision with no tablet controller, aimed at being much cheaper then the current version. We have enough 3DS versions, and a Wii U successor doesn't make sense with Smash still in the pipeline for the system.

Or maybe:

12 Core Intel Xeon 2.7 GHz Processor with Nvidia Titan Z Graphics
32GB of DDR4 RAM with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM at 2 TB/s
2TB PCIe SSD
802.11ac wireless
Archival Disc (300GB to 1TB storage per disc)
Backwards compatibility

it has to be. a revamped Wii U is my guess, if anything.

I tell you though, it will have to be drastic. If not in capability then definitely in design.

I was also thinking a revision that would handle new services/features but wouldn't be a bump in the graphics. Maybe they are finally doing their version of renting games for $X.XX a month or something.
Hahahaha....*crying*

More specifically, that it would launch in the 2015/2016 fiscal year part of 2015 (so April or later), but that there would be more details announced this year.

QOL isn't even part of their video game business. Nintendo considers it a completely separate part of the corporate whole. We have pretty much no idea what form it will take. And it was never once mentioned in the same breath as E3
