A sufficient summary of my feelings on this subject.

Finally, best show ever! I'm so ready to watch it all again for the fifth time!

And I actually like the movie too.

The movie, on the other hand, is outright grim and traumatizing.

Oh yes, the movie is super unsettling.

Now I realize I'm going to watch it again because of all the new content and while I'm looking forward to it, I'm really not looking forward to it.

Once we have a fan edit, I'm willing to bet the new footage will make the movie feel a little more in line with the tone of the show. Most of the stuff that got cut was the weird, goofy, light-hearted moments that are so important to the series.

I never had a problem with the movie feeling so different, but I can only see this as a good thing.

There better be more David Bowie footage.

He's featured quite heavily in the trailer, so you're in luck.

No amount of deleted scenes can save FWWM. It's the Phantom Menace of Twin Peaks, leaving nothing to the imagination all the while doing the original series a disservice.

Oh no, I wouldn't have it any other way. I like the movie a lot and to me it's one of the high points of the series.

Having the movie be goofy would make no sense as the subject matter and especially the culmination is fucking grim.

Or it's Lynch's best film. Take your pick.

Really, though, I disagree that FWWM spells everything out. If anything it raises more questions than it answers.

This is seriously the best news. I have been waiting to see these for years now. Cannot wait!

I loved FWWM so can't wait to see the rest of it.

Also, just to vent a couple times more: fuck the biker guy who is lame as shit and that whole cheerleading turn that happens in the middle of season 2. Luckily, season two straightens out quality-wise in the end but man, some of that stuff is tough to sit through.

YES!
Watched the show for the first time a few months back and it jumped to the top of my best TV series ever list. Hope it comes to Europe in a reasonable time frame.

I think you spelled "Audrey" incorrectly.

It's too bad S2 Audrey is significantly worse than S1. They completely killed the sexual tension between Cooper and Audrey way too early.

And I would say Twin Peaks is a actually scary in certain scenes. The reveal of the killer is one of the scariest moments in a movie/show that I've ever seen. Incredibly dark, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it actually scared me.

Everything was great about season 2 except for James's scene. Those segments were the epitome of shit. That's his name right?

What, you didn't like that slow-paced, completely unnecessary and out of place subplot about James being constantly sad and starting a relationship with an older married woman?
I agree. Fuck him.

[Oops, meant to quote a picture of Laura Flynn Boyle]

By the way a quick disclaimer for anyone in this thread going forward: no, you don't need to post that picture of what she looks like now. We already know. Let us continue to block it out.

Season 2 was a complete mess post reveal (but I would argue also to a much lesser extent pre reveal). After S1 finale, I don't think the show ever had the constant quality of S1, but the first half of S2 was still very good and had amazing moments.

HOWEVER, everything, and I mean (almost) everything post reveal is fucking dumb as hell, not just Jame's storyline. The show went so far up its own ass it's crazy. The finale is wonderful, but that's being extremely kind to season 2 to say James was its only problem.

Holy shit YES.

Time to fire up a Julee Cruise album to celebrate.

I actually have the FWWM soundtrack CD, and it's a great album, but it's in pretty deep storage (with a few hundred other CD's) waaaay back in the crawlspace under the stairs. Who plays CD's anymore LOL?
